Abstract

This study is an attempt to find out what kinds of English materials are needed by secretarial students and their opinion about the existing English material, to describe how the “English for Secretary” is developed in English teaching material for the secretarial students, finding out whether the “English for Secretary” in English teaching material is effective and appropriate for the secretarial students of vocational school. Based on the research problems, this study is aimed to develop English teaching material, using “English for Secretary” students textbook. It is done according to Standar Kompetensi Sekretaris in first grade of vocational school. The approach used in this study is Research and Development (R&D). I used all of the steps proposed by Hyland (2003:83). They are conducting survey, developing materials, expert and teacher validation, doing first revision, trying out, doing second revision, producing final product, and disseminating. The results show that “English for Secretary” is worthwhile for the students’ achievement. We can see them from the results of their scores after being taught by using “English for Secretary” students textbook. The final conclusions are as follows : First, the students said that they found it difficult with the existing English materials and sometimes they became bored. They needed an attractive materials such as English songs, or animated movies. Second, I developed material which is called “English for Secretary” students textbook. This study can encourage the students to love English lessons. They can show their speaking and writing ability in business world. “English for Secretary” not only can help the students save their beautiful mind and express their language in written or spoken form easily but it can also help the teachers to teach English more easily and in an enjoyable manner. Third, the students gave the interesting opinions about the developed material. All of them liked the material very much. The students’ achievement after being taught by using “English for Secretary” is good. Keywords : Secretary, a Set of Instructional English Materials.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to describe (1) the layout of laboratory based English learning, (2) the material of laboratory-based English learning, (3) the lecturers’ and students’ activities in the laboratory-based English learning, and (4) the monitor and evaluation of laboratory-based English learning. This research is basically a qualitative research with ethnography research design. For the data collection techniques, it uses the observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis technique uses an interactive model of analysis. Data validity uses a triangulation technique. The results of the research show that (1) the layout of laboratory-based English learning was created by giving attention to the need of students. The comfort condition was created by installation of Air Conditioner (AC) and sound system in the corner of the room. The tables and chairs were set by the formation of U letter and in each table was equipped with a headset for learning listening. (2) the material for the laboratory-based English learning consisted of the speaking and learning materials. The story telling material was considered to be a complicated and complex material. The delivery of material was done through demonstration method and used several media such as film, LCD, tape recorder. (3) lecturers and students were active in doing the laboratory-based English learning. Lecturers prepared learning activities and gave motivation in a guidance, reward and punishment. Through the incorporation of a variety of methods, lecturers were able to activate students such as doing the listening, speaking, discussion, and debating. Students had the opportunity to compete through a loud reading and a story telling. (4) monitoring and evaluation of the laboratory-based English learning were done during the learning process. The evaluation was done in written, spoken and practical tests to know students’ skill in listening and speaking. Students who excel got a reward and followed enrichment program. On the contrary, those who had not achieved KKM score, got warning and entered the remedial program. Keywords : learning, English language, laboratory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal angka melalui metode bermain rangkai pipa di kelompok A TK IT Raudlatul Muhsinin  Dempel Kidul Pedurungan Semarang. Untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan  aktivitas bermain anak dan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pendidik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif anak dalam mengenal angka melalui .metode bermain rangkai pipa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas penelitian yang mendeskripsikan atau memberi gambaran terhadap objek yang teliti melalui data sampel atau populasi dengan melalui analisis dan kesimpulan yang berlaku. Objek penelitian adalah 16 peserta didik yang terdiri dari 8 peserta didik laki-laki dan 8 peserta didik perempuan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan 2 siklus. I siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan dengan indikator keberhasilan 75%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dalam mengenal angka di siklus I dan siklus II. Pada siklus I Kemampuan  kognitif anak  dalam mengenal angka memiliki prosentase sebesar 66,5%. Tindakan siklus I telah dapat mengembangkan kognitif dalam mengenal angka, tetapi belum memenuhi target keberhasilan sehingga dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II. Pada akhir siklus II, anak dengan kemmampuan kognitif dalam mengenal angka yang memenuhi kriteria meningkat menjadi 84,75 %.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengembangan nilai-nilai kewirausahaan di TK diintegrasikan sesuai tema dan kegiatan di sekolah. Nilai-nilai kewirausahaan sangat penting dikembangkan pada anak usia dini karena pada masa tersebut mereka berada pada golden age (masa keemasan), sehingga segala sesuatu yang ditanamkan pada diri mereka dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan hidup di masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif karena dilakukan dalam kondisi alami, Penelitian kualitatif berfokus pada bagaimana masalah yang ada dapat terjadi dari pada berfokus pada hasil yang ada.

Abstract

Anak-anak di TK PGRI Payungan mengalami kesulitan untuk membedakan atau menggelompokkan jenis makanan pokok dan lauk pauk, kurangnya kesadaran anak untuk mengomsumsi sayur atau lauk pauk yang sehat saat membawa bekal, dan anak jarang menghabiskan sayur atau buah yang tersedia saat makan bersama. Metode “Isi Piringku” merupakan kegiatan yang dilakukan dengan bermain yang menggunakan media dari piring plastik yang aman untuk anak dan divisualkan secara menarik dengan warna. Tujuan penilitian ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran diri pada makanan bergizi dengan menggunakan metode “isi piringku” pada anak usia 4-6 tahun. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian tindakan kolaboratif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara dengan kepala sekolah, teman sejawat dan wali murid, observasi kesadaran diri anak pada makanan bergizi dan dokumentasi. Data Siklus I hanya mencapai 40 % dari kriteria indikator keberhasilan 75%. Data Siklus II telah mencapai keberhasilan 75% dari 20 anak. Penelitian tindakan kolaboratif ini mampu untuk meningkatkan kesadaran diri anak pada makanan sehat yang dilakukan dengan metode “isi piringku” dimana anak dengan tanpa dipaksa untuk mengkonsumsi dan mampu menyebutkan makanan sehat tersebut.

Abstract

Abstract:  The purpose of this study is to develop capcut-assisted learning media on theme 2 sub-theme 1 learning 6 in grade II elementary school that is valid, practical, interesting and effective. Valid according to material expert (Dra. Widayati M.H), media expert (Ferril Irham Muzaki S.Pd., M.Pd) and user/teacher (Luluk Muthori'ah, S.Pd) while practical, interesting and effective according to grade II students SDN Kauman 2 Blitar City. The research method uses R&D development according to Borg & Gall. The stages in this research include: 1) potential and problems, 2) data collection, 3) product design, 4) product validation, 5) product revision, 6) product trial, 7) product revision, 8) usage trial 9) product revision. The data collection instruments used were interview guidelines, validation instruments, and student questionnaires. The type of data in the form of quantitative data is obtained from the results of the material validator questionnaire, media, users/teachers, and students. Qualitative data obtained from suggestions and input from experts, users and students. The validator analysis technique uses a Likert Scale. While the data obtained from product trials and usage trials using the Guttman scale. The results of material validation are 100% (very valid), media validation is 93.75% (very valid), user validation is 100% (very valid), and product testing is 98.8% (very practical/interesting). So it can be concluded that the capcut-assisted learning media is stated to be very valid, practical, interesting and effective to use in learning theme 2 sub-theme 1 learning 6.Abstrak: Tujuan pada penelitian ini mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbantuan capcut pada tema 2 subtema 1 pembelajaran 6 di kelas II sekolah dasar yang valid, praktis, menarik dan efektif. Valid menurut ahli materi (Dra. Widayati M.H), ahli media (Ferril Irham Muzaki S.Pd.,M.Pd) dan pengguna/guru (Luluk Muthori’ah, S.Pd) sedangkan praktis, menarik dan efektif menurut siswa kelas II SDN Kauman 2 Kota Blitar. Metode penelitian menggunakan pengembangan R&D menurut Borg & Gall. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: 1) potensi dan masalah, 2) pengumpulan data, 3) desain produk, 4) validasi produk, 5) revisi produk, 6) uji coba produk, 7) revisi produk, 8) uji coba pemakaian 9) revisi produk. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa pedoman wawancara, instrumen validasi, dan angket siswa. Jenis data berupa data kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil angket validator materi, media, pengguna/guru, dan peserta didik. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari saran dan masukan baik dari ahli, pengguna maupun peserta didik. Teknik analisis validator menggunakan Skala Likert. Sedangkan data yang diperoleh dari uji coba produk dan uji coba pemakaian menggunakan skala Guttman. Hasil validasi materi 100% (sangat valid), validasi media 93,75% (sangat valid), validasi pengguna 100% (sangat valid), dan uji coba produk 98,8% (sangat praktis/menarik). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan media pembelajaran berbantuan capcut dinyatakan sangat valid, praktis, menarik dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran tema 2 subtema 1 pembelajaran 6.

Abstract

This development research aims to: 1) Describe the results of the validity, attractiveness and practicality of the development of PjBL-oriented teaching materials to improve the science learning outcomes of Grade 6 students 2) Knowing the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation results of the development of PjBL-oriented teaching materials to improve the learning outcomes of grade 6 students to be implemented for students. This study used an R & D (Research and Development) design using the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques for teaching materials expert questionnaires. The results of the validation of teaching material experts showed a score of 94.2%. The small group test score obtained was 84.4 and the results of the field trial were 87. The student response questionnaire obtained results of 95. 6% can be stated that the PjBL-based science teaching materials on the adaptation of living things in class VI elementary school are very valid to be applied in science learning and for large groups the average is 95.3 with very practical criteria. The teacher response questionnaire averaged 90 with very practical criteria. The results of pretests and postes experienced an increase in the average score of the post test of 89.8 so that it can be concluded that there is an increase in scores in student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the teaching materials for the content of PjBL-oriented science developed using the ADDIE model have good quality from the aspects of content, visual design, and grammar to be used.

Abstract

This article analyzes the influence of mind mapping in improving sixth-grade elementary school students’ descriptive writing ability. The type of research is qualitative research with a problem-solving research design. Problem-solving is an approach that indicates the data in the form of words or statements obtained through interviews, documentation, observations, and so on. Classroom action research is conducted to solve problems in learning in the classroom or to improve learning quality. The research subjects involved 24 students of class VI at SDN Blimbing 2. The test results before implementing the class research action indicate that the average value is 54. In cycle I, the average value is 68.7 with a completeness percentage of 42%. It shows that between the pretest and cycle 1 there is an increasing value of 14.7. In cycle 2, the average value increases to 75.2 with a completeness percentage of 100%. The observation results of students’ activity in cycle 1 achieve 71% while in cycle 2 it achieves 81%, which means that there is an increasing percentage of 10%. The observation results teacher’s teaching management in cycle 1 achieves a percentage of 73% and in cycle 2 it achieves a percentage of 87%, which means that there is an increasing percentage of 15%. Thus, the data analysis of students’ writing descriptive essays through mind mapping from the pretest, cycle 1 to cycle 2 has achieved an average score target.
