Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument for student mastery of the concept of static electricity, the "Electrostatics Conceptual Test (ECT)." The approach used in this study is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model. Expert validation and trial results have led to revisions in this instrument. The results of the final analysis of this instrument show a Cronbach alpha value of 0.702, which indicates that the reliability of the instrument is in the excellent category. We also tested this instrument for external validity, and the results confirm the validity of its 16 items. Before studying static electricity, you can use this instrument as a formative assessment instrument and a diagnostic test. The scope of this instrument focuses on static electricity so that it represents all the elements in the topic.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v13i12025p008

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the reciprocal teaching learning model assisted by Flipbook on students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was quasi-experimental. We conducted research on two classes: the experimental class and the control class. We conducted our research activities at Elementary School Biyawak in Majalengka Regency. The total population studied was 58 students, divided into two groups: the experimental class totaling 30 people and the control class totaling 28 people, with the sampling technique used being non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. We collected the research data using a pretest and posttest with questions describing critical thinking ability. The findings of the study indicated that the reciprocal teaching model assisted by flipbook can significantly improve students' critical thinking skills based on the results of pretest and posttest data from 50.28 to 74.03 with a significance level of

Abstract

The main goal of learning physics is to help students master concepts. Students must possess a strong mastery of concepts, particularly fundamental ones in physics, to effectively solve problems. However, many students struggle with understanding physics concepts. A recitation program can enhance students' mastery of physics concepts. Using the recitation program increases students' concept mastery. This article examines how the program was developed. This research employs a literature review method. Vosviewer processed the data collected from Google Scholar, Scopus, Microsoft Academies, and Harzing's Publish or Perish. The results of the article synthesis show that the recitation program can improve students' mastery of physics concepts, and various kinds of recitation programs have been developed using Wondershare Quiz Creator, Microsoft PowerPoint, and the web. Based on the results of the article synthesis, it can be concluded that the recitation program can improve students' mastery of concepts, and the recitation program that has been developed is getting better and more modern.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v13i12025p032

Abstract

The use of various forms of representation is believed to help students understand the concept of kinematics better. This research aims to determine the increase in students' conceptual understanding and representational fluency in the kinematics of straight motion through Learning Cycle 5E with multi representational approach on 32 class XI students of State High Schools in Malang. Students' conceptual understanding is assessed with seventeen reasoned multiple choice questions, while representational fluency are assessed with five essay questions. Based on the results of the analysis, students' conceptual understanding and representation abilities increase through the learning carried out. Increased understanding of concepts based on testsN-gain namely 0.693, while the increase in students' representational fluency was 0.654.DOI: 10.17977/jps.v13i12025p020

Abstract

Through a method called "Learning Ownership," students actively participate in the educational process and comprehend the context, objectives, and applications of the content they have learned. A learner can customize each educational encounter to align with their present and future learning goals once they have control over their learning processes. The skills and practices required for ownership are highly versatile and applicable in various educational environments. The aim of this study was to unveil the effect of the learning ownership-PBL model on students' critical thinking skills. The sampling technique used in this research was random sampling, which consisted of 2 groups: the control group used the PBL model, and the experimental group used the learning ownership-PBL model. For the learning ownership parameter, we use a questionnaire consisting of 33 questions, and for the critical thinking parameter, we use an essay consisting of 5 questions. The test used is an independent sample T-test and Spearman test to see the correlation between learning ownership and critical thinking skills. The study found that students in the experimental group improved their learning ownership and critical thinking scores more than students in the PBL model alone in every way. Learning ownership (PBL) strongly correlated and significantly increased students' critical thinking skills. Thus, we conclude that learning ownership-PBL can increase student critical thinking skills. DOI: https://doi.org/10.17977/jps.v13i12025p001
