Abstract

This study investigated the SMPN students' learning outcomes in mathematics in Bandar Lampung. It was found out that there is a relation between students' learning outcomes with students' learning activities in mathematics, learning disciplin in mathematics, teachers' commitments and attentions in the teaching and learning process, learning facilities at home, and parent's guidance.

Abstract

There is a functional relationship between the participation in decision making as well as in work motivation and the productivity of teacher's work. This, among others, is revealed by a study conducted in Kabupaten Minahasa and Kotamadya Manado. The sample comprises 264 teachers of SMAN. Another result shows that there is no significant difference in the participation in decision making, work motivation and work productivity of male and female teachers.

Abstract

Moral education is salient to promote the quality of the Indonesian man in facing the modernization in this era of information and globalization. Furthermore, this article describes more specifically the parameters of self-actualization in line with the Al Qur'an and its realization in the form of development through more concrete steps and educational approaches. The last part of this article discusses some essential points in order to invigorate the moral education in the future and in turn to equalize the effort in mastering science and technology.

Abstract

Nonformal education seems to play a great rolr in contributing the absorbtion of manpower in the industrial job market. This reality is verified by a case study conducted at the industrial area in Bandung. From the analysis of data the following facts are revealed: 1) the nonformal education is the only alternative to develop professional, selfreliance, and dedicated manpower who will become the central supporters of the industrial world; 2) the managers of industries have a positive attitude towards the existence of nonformal education.

Abstract

Evidently there is a disparity in the performances of the STM (Technical Secondary School) graduates due to their various educational background. This fact was revealed by the result of the data analysis covering 207 respondents taken from 6 different kinds of industries located in East Jawa. Another finding shows that graduates of STM using the 1984 curriculum tend to be very cooperative and highly motivated in pursuing their respective individual development.

Abstract

This study on educational management is conducted in 1991 of which the respondents comprises 24 principals of SMAN and private ones. The instruments used is an interview schedule. The result shows that the strength of management is in the school climate, the methods to motivate students, and some extra curriculair activities. This management is to be called practical management as it affects the students directly in promoting their achievements.

Abstract

Story telling by mother increases the creativity of children aged 3 until 7. This fact is apparent from the result of observation done by teachers who find that the attitude of their students whose mothers often tell stories at home are more flexible and critical than those whose mothers do not tell stories. At home the children of the former group are also easier to handle and polite to their parents. The instrument employed for data collection is a questionnaire for mothers and an observation schedule for the teachers of kindergarten schools.

Abstract

This article is discussing the importance of a test on physical exercise and the steps of constructing this kind of test. The criteria of a good test on physical exercise should have, among others, the following points: 1) the test involves only one participant; 2) the measurement technique is accurate and easy to be implemented; 3) the test is simple; 4) the skills and technique tested is approximately the same as the real situation during a game; 5) the test administered is comprehensive and accurate in line with the instruction; 6) the test is valid, reliable, and objective.

Abstract

Two concepts concerning the dual system, manely that of Depdikbud and that of Depnaker, have their similarities and dissimilarities. Based on these consepts it is essential to redefine the interpretation of the dual system in order to differentiate the meaning of the natoinal dual system and the apprenticeship system. The essence of the dissimilarity is in the certification. In reference to this it is deemed necessary to form a body to organize certification. Through this body a regulation an the dual system and apprenticeship is able to be realized.

Abstract

This is a descriptive explorative research that studies the role of family education in developing the morality of youth in facing the global era. This study is conducted at 5 sub-districts in DKI and the sample is SMA students in the sub-districts of DKI. The technique of analysis employed is the Pearson Product Moment Coorelation. The result of the correlational analysis reveals that he role of family education is not significant. However, from the description of data it is found out that family education affects positively on the development of the morality of the youth.
