Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility level and determine the development priorities of Kutuh Tourism Village in South Kuta District. The main issue addressed is the imbalance of development among tourist attractions despite the area's high natural resource potential. The study applies a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis using the Natural Tourism Attraction Object (ODTWA) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results indicate that Kutuh Village has a feasibility index of 83%, categorized as feasible for development. Partially, accessibility and accommodation achieved maximum scores (100%), while attractiveness (75%) and supporting infrastructure (70%) require improvement. The AHP results reveal that attractiveness is the top priority with a weight of 48.7%, followed by accessibility (22.3%), infrastructure (16.2%), and accommodation (12.7%). These findings emphasize that tourism village development should prioritize strengthening the uniqueness and quality of attractions as the core value, followed by improving supporting infrastructure.

Abstract

Limited waste management facilities in Belopa District have not been able to meet service demands due to increasing community activities and waste generation, leading to the emergence of illegal dumping points. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of waste generation and to formulate optimal strategies for waste management and facility distribution. The methods used include field surveys, interviews, Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) analysis, Hot Spot Analysis (Getis-Ord Gi*), and spatial analysis based on buffer and overlay using a geographic information system. The results show that there are 14 waste generation points, dominated by 11 illegal points. The ANN value of 903.75 with a z-score of 6461.99 and a p-value of 0.000000 indicates a dispersed and statistically significant distribution pattern. Hotspot analysis identifies 3 points as priority zones, with the highest waste volume reaching 1,200 kg/day. In addition, the service coverage of waste facilities remains limited, leaving many areas unserved. Based on the needs analysis, additional facilities are required, including 2 area-scale units, 4 containers, 3 communal bins, and 4 arm roll trucks with a service capacity of up to 51 m³/day. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of spatial statistical analysis and facility distribution planning based on existing conditions to produce more targeted recommendations.

Abstract

Cocoa commodities in Malili District have the potential to support agro-industrial development; however, their utilization remains suboptimal due to limited productivity, cultivation and post-harvest technologies, and farmer institutional capacity. This study aims to identify leading commodities, analyze factors associated with cocoa development, and formulate development strategies to support agro-industrial development. The study employed a quantitative approach using Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), Klassen Typology, Chi-Square, and SWOT analyses. The results show that cocoa is a base commodity in six areas, with the highest LQ value recorded in Malili Urban Village at 8.47, while the Klassen Typology classifies cocoa as a leading sector. The Chi-Square test indicates that cocoa prices have the strongest relationship with agro-industrial development (C=0.56), followed by seed quality (C=0.51) and business capital (C=0.47). The SWOT analysis places Malili District in Quadrant III (Weakness–Opportunity), indicating that development strategies should focus on increasing productivity, strengthening post-harvest processing, enhancing farmer capacity, and expanding market access to increase the value added and competitiveness of the cocoa agro-industry.

Abstract

Economic development in the Bodetabek (Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) region plays a strategic role in supporting national economic growth. The concentration of economic activity, investment, labor absorption, and infrastructure development is uneven. This leads to development inequality between regions. This study aims to analyze the level of development inequality, test for the occurrence of ẞ-convergence and o-convergence, and identify the influence of investment, labor, and infrastructure on economic growth in the Bodetabek region. The study uses quantitative secondary data from eight regencies/cities in the Bodetabek region during the 2018-2024 period. Data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and various official government publications. The analytical methods used include the Williamson Index, ẞ-convergence analysis, o-convergence analysis, and panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The results show that the level of development inequality in the Bodetabek region is still relatively high. The ẞ-convergence analysis shows that there is no economic convergence, as indicated by a positive and insignificant beta coefficient, thus indicating a tendency for economic divergence. The a-convergence analysis also shows that inter-regional income disparities persist, as indicated by a very small decrease in sigma values over the study period. Panel data regression results indicate that investment has a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while labor and infrastructure have no significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the roles of pentahelix actors as well as the levels of stakeholder interest and influence in the development of the Tongke-Tongke Mangrove Forest tourism destination in East Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency. The research was motivated by the suboptimal management of the tourism destination, as reflected in weak stakeholder collaboration, inadequate infrastructure, limited promotional efforts, and low community participation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis combined with stakeholder analysis based on the interest–power matrix. The findings indicate that the five pentahelix actors—government, academia, business sector, community, and media—have carried out their respective roles; however, their collaboration remains fragmented and insufficiently integrated. The government has the highest level of influence, while the contributions of academia and the media remain limited in fostering innovation and destination promotion. Weak coordination, communication, and integrated planning were identified as the primary constraints to tourism development. Therefore, strengthening sustainable collaboration among stakeholders is essential to enhance the effectiveness, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability of the Tongke-Tongke Mangrove Forest tourism destination.

Abstract

Differences in rural development conditions require an objective measurement to determine the level of village development. The Village Development Index (Indeks Desa Membangun/IDM) is used to assess village development through three main dimensions, namely social resilience, economic resilience, and environmental resilience, which are subsequently used to classify village development status. This study aims to analyze the Village Development Index and determine the development status of Kesiman Petilan Village, Bali, based on indicator measurements in 2025. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a scoring technique for indicators within each dimension of the Village Development Index. Unlike previous studies that generally focus on calculating the Village Development Index or describing village status, this study provides a quantitative verification of the development status of Kesiman Petilan Village while identifying the relative strengths and areas requiring improvement across the three resilience dimensions. The results show that Kesiman Petilan Village obtained a Social Resilience Index of 0.91, an Economic Resilience Index of 0.76, and an Environmental Resilience Index of 0.73. These three dimensions resulted in a Village Development Index score of 0.80. Based on the classification interval applied in the study, the score falls within the range of 0.707–<0.815, indicating that Kesiman Petilan Village is classified as an Advanced Village (Desa Maju), rather than an Independent Village (Desa Mandiri). The findings demonstrate that social resilience is the village's main strength, while economic and environmental resilience require further improvement to support the transition toward an Independent Village. Thus, the study contributes an indicator-based assessment that not only confirms the village's development status but also provides a basis for identifying priority dimensions for future development

Abstract

Indonesia, which is an agricultural country, has a great advantage where most of the population works as farmers and most of its territory is rural areas so that it has extensive agricultural land. The agricultural sector consists of several sub-sectors, one of which is horticulture. Types of horticultural plants include vegetables, fruits, ornamental plants and biopharmaceuticals. One type of horticulture which is a superior commodity in agribusiness is the tomato plant. Objective. This study aims to analyze the marketing efficiency of tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum) in Tamaona Village, Tombolo Pao District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. Method. The approach used is a qualitative analysis method with a focus on the relationship between marketing systems, productivity, and the success of tomato farming. The results of the study show that most farmers still market their harvests through collectors who come directly to the location. The marketing channels formed are included in category III, namely farmers - collectors - retailers - consumers, with a price difference of IDR 5,000 / kg between the selling price of farmers and the price in traditional markets. Farmers' dependence on collectors is influenced by long-standing personal relationships, although this causes farmers' weak bargaining position. Marketing efficiency in this area is also influenced by limited access to information, lack of modern marketing knowledge, and a culture of resignation to the existing system. Although there are individual initiatives from some farmers to sell directly to the market or share price information, these efforts are still sporadic and have not been organized collectively. In conclusion, the tomato marketing system in Tamaona Village is not yet efficient and requires strengthening the capacity of farmers and access to more profitable alternative marketing channels.
