Abstract

To achieve learning goals, students from every level of education must be involved in learning experiences to develop their mathematical connection abilities. This research aims to discover more detailed pictures of students' mathematical connection abilities on indicators that they are still lacking. The type of research that will be used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive approach. This research will be carried out at SMP Negeri 11 Tanjungpinang using research subjects, namely 33 students in class VIII-I. However, researchers only described 9 of 33 students. Researchers collected data using mathematical connection test questions and student interviews and the data analysis technique used was the data analysis technique proposed by (Miles and Huberman in Angelina, M., & Effendi, K.N.S., 2021) which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding with the results of the level of students' mathematical connection abilities consisting of 3 students in the high category, 5 students in the medium category and 25 students in the low category. Students who have high mathematical connection abilities can solve the problems given. Students who have moderate mathematical connection abilities tend to be able to solve problems even though there are errors in answering questions and incomplete writing of answer results. Students who have low mathematical connection abilities tend not to be able to solve problems to measure mathematical connections. When researchers researched this, researchers found that schools were still implementing the K-13 curriculum, where students were presented with learning material from teachers. This makes students rarely explore their abilities in connecting the lessons they have learned.

Abstract

Developing teaching materials or LKPD in schools requires an interesting learning model. The appropriate model for developing LKPD that refers to students' real activities is the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending (CORE) Model. Developing LKPD is a fundamental and important aspect for creating meaningful learning. This research was conducted to increase students' understanding, especially in learning mathematics and Two-Variavel Linear System material which has many implications in everyday life. In this research, researchers used research and development (R&D) methods. The subjects of this research and development were 30 Class 3 Science students at SMA Negeri 1 Leuwimunding. Based on research and development of mathematics LKPD based on the Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending (CORE) Class XI Science SMA Negeri 1 Leuwimunding model. can be concluded as follows: (1) The results of developing LKPD can be used as effective learning materials in the teaching and learning process; (2) The teacher's assessment of the mathematics LKPD shows an average score of 100% with the criteria "very good". (3) Based on the results of these calculations, the overall average percentage of answers is 55.04%. This means that the majority of students have a good response to learning mathematics using the CORE learning model.

Abstract

Mathematics improves higher order thinking skills, especially creative thinking. Creative thinking involves logical and divergent thinking based on intuition. This allows students to solve problems through a variety of methods. However, traditional learning methods limit this ability. The Discovery Learning model that involves active student participation can improve these skills. This research aims to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities through the Discovery Learning model. The research method used is quantitative with Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The sample for this research was Class The experimental group received the Discovery Learning model, while the control group used conventional methods. Pretest and posttest data were analyzed using statistical tests including normality, homogeneity and T test. The experimental class used the Discovery Learning method, while the control class used conventional methods. The pretest and posttest results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group. The findings show that Discovery Learning increases creative thinking in mathematics.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is cultural mathematics. The culture in question is the habitual behavior of the people around you, such as the behavior of urban or rural community groups, labor groups, professional groups, student age groups, indigenous peoples, and other groups. Various efforts are made to increase student motivation in learning mathematics. It is hoped that it can improve learning outcomes and improve mathematical creative thinking skills. One of the initiatives is ethnomathematics-based learning, which studies the relationship between culture and mathematics, and integrates local wisdom values into mathematical concepts. In this way, students not only learn mathematical concepts, but also develop an appreciation and love for their own culture. The purpose of this study is to determine the use of ethnomathematics to improve mathematical creative thinking skills. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review), This is a method of identifying, reviewing, and summarising various studies on the topic at hand. Data collection is done by documenting all articles that have similar research results. The articles used in the study were 14 articles taken from the Gooogle Scholar database, Research Gate, Springer Link. This research shows that the ethnomathematics approach can increase learning motivation, student engagement, understanding of mathematical concepts, and creative problem solving skills. In addition, ethnomathematics can also be used as a means to preserve local wisdom and cultural values of Indonesian society. Therefore, the use of ethnomathematics in mathematics learning can be an effective strategy to improve students' creative thinking skills and foster deeper cultural awareness.
