Abstract

This study aims to analyze customer perceptions of interest rates and profit margins in banking institutions, focusing on competitiveness, fairness, transparency, and their influence on decision-making. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through surveys targeting bank customers who interact with both conventional and Islamic banking systems. The findings reveal significant differences in customer perceptions: Interest Rates: While perceived as competitive (average score: 3.05), interest rates are considered less fair (2.95–3.04) and less transparent (3.04). Customers associate interest rates with higher risks due to market fluctuations, which affects their trust and decision-making (3.20). Profit Margins: Islamic banking's profit margins outperform interest rates in competitiveness (3.14), fairness (3.12–3.28), and transparency (3.11). The fixed nature of profit margins offers stability and aligns with Sharia principles, leading to higher trust and influence in customer decisions (3.29). The study concludes that profit margins are perceived as more favorable due to their adherence to fairness and transparency principles, whereas interest rates are associated with risks and limited adaptability. Conventional banks need to improve transparency and fairness, while Islamic banks should focus on expanding accessibility and educating customers about Sharia-compliant mechanisms. The findings emphasize the growing preference for ethical and stable financial systems

Abstract

This study examines the influence of Love of Money (LoM), Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), and the moderating role of social media influencers (SMIs) on investment decision. Given the recent surge in capital market participation by millennials and Gen Z, this research aims to identify behavioral factors driving investment decisions. Utilizing a quantitative survey, findings indicate that FOMO significantly impacts investment intentions (p=0.004). Conversely, Love of Money (p=0.430) and the direct influence of SMIs (p=0.712) were not statistically significant predictors. Crucially, a significant interaction was found between SMIs and FOMO (p=0.000), demonstrating that SMIs substantially amplify FOMO's effect on investment intentions. No significant interaction was observed between SMIs and LoM (p=0.204). These results highlight FOMO's potent role, especially when amplified by social media exposure, in shaping young investor behavior. The study recommends enhanced financial literacy and ethical conduct among SMIs to encourage prudent investment practices, mitigating risks from FOMO-driven decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the implementation and perception of work discipline between a private-sector company and a public-sector institution in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores how disciplinary systems operate, how leadership influences compliance, and how employees respond to enforcement in both organizational settings. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic and cross-case comparison methods. The results reveal that while both organizations recognize the importance of discipline, their enforcement strategies differ significantly. The private organization adopts a flexible and immediate approach supported by technology and managerial discretion but lacks structured reward mechanisms. In contrast, the public institution follows formal regulations with a clear procedural framework but faces challenges in day-to-day monitoring and enforcement. Both contexts demonstrate the critical role of leadership, internal culture, and perceived fairness in shaping disciplinary outcomes. This study contributes to the human resource management literature by highlighting how work discipline is not solely a matter of regulation but also a function of organizational behavior and employee perception. It offers practical recommendations for designing discipline systems that are procedurally sound, contextually adaptive, and human centered.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of satisfaction (X1) and trust (X2) on customer loyalty (Y) in using the Dana e-wallet application in Bengkalis District. A quantitative approach was employed, collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption analysis, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that both satisfaction (X1) and trust (X2) have a positive and significant impact on customer loyalty (Y). This is evidenced by the calculated t-value being greater than the t-table value and the calculated f-value exceeding the f-table value. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.796 indicates that 79.6% of the variation in customer loyalty can be explained by customer satisfaction and trust. This study concludes that satisfaction and trust are crucial factors influencing customer loyalty in using the Dana e-wallet application in Bengkalis District. Therefore, Dana should prioritize enhancing customer satisfaction and trust to foster increased customer loyalty.

Abstract

One sector that is experiencing changes in the current digital era is the financial sector, where payment transactions are starting to be carried out through digital systems, some of which use the QRIS system. Payment transactions via QRIS can speed up transactions and reduce operational costs, especially for commercial players. However, the use of QRIS has clearly given rise to what is called digital crime, which can harm users (QRIS consumers) by destroying the QR code and "undoing" the actions carried out by the perpetrator. This research uses qualitative research with data collection techniques through library research which is analyzed qualitatively. The results of the first research concluded that legal protection for QRIS users based on current regulations includes PJSP having valid legal status, PJSP must create a financial innovation ecosystem with good digital credentials in the financial services sector and be registered with the Financial Services Authority. OJK and QRIS users (consumers) enjoy rights based on the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law and the ITE Law. Second, the legal consequences of misusing consumer data in digital transactions using QRIS make the perpetrator liable for professional misconduct. For losses incurred, QRIS users can file a civil lawsuit or compensation through PJSP, as stipulated in Article 12, paragraph 1, Law no. 27, 2022 on personal data protection.
