Abstract

The Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) feature, such as SPayLater on Shopee, has reshaped consumption patterns among seasonal-income communities, including farmers/plantation workers. This study examines the effect of SPayLater usage and hedonic shopping motivation on impulsive buying, with digital fear of missing out (FOMO) as a mediator and self-control as a moderator, grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. A quantitative causal-associative approach was applied to 150 farmer/plantation-worker respondents who actively use SPayLater in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi, selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (WarpPLS). Results indicate that SPayLater (β=0.351, p<0.001) and hedonic shopping motivation (β=0.306, p<0.001) significantly and positively affect digital FOMO, and FOMO significantly affects impulsive buying (β=0.168, p=0.017). However, the direct effects of SPayLater (p=0.300) and hedonic shopping motivation (p=0.057) on impulsive buying were not significant, and FOMO did not significantly mediate either relationship (p=0.151; p=0.185). Self-control significantly and negatively moderates the FOMO–impulsive buying relationship (β=-0.187, p=0.009), consistent with the Strength Model of Self-Control. This study contributes theoretically by revealing the psychological pattern of digital FOMO in an underexplored seasonal-income agrarian population, and practically by underscoring the importance of digital financial literacy and self-control capacity-building programs.

Abstract

This study examines the sequential mediating roles of technology adoption and service excellence in the relationships among digital transformation, green logistics capability, and operational efficiency in Indonesian freight forwarding companies. This quantitative causal-explanatory research employed a cross-sectional survey of 250 managers from freight forwarding companies in Indonesia. Data analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 and bootstrapping with 5,000 subsamples. Data analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0 and bootstrapping with 5,000 subsamples. The findings confirm all seven direct hypotheses and both sequential mediation hypotheses. Digital transformation significantly influences technology adoption (β=0.385, p<0.001), while green logistics capability positively affects technology adoption (β=0.342, p<0.001). Technology adoption substantially enhances service excellence (β=0.431, p<0.001), which in turn drives operational efficiency (β=0.402, p<0.001). Crucially, the sequential mediation pathways—digital transformation → technology adoption → service excellence → operational efficiency and green logistics capability → technology adoption → service excellence → operational efficiency—are both significant, demonstrating that technology adoption and service excellence function as complementary sequential mechanisms. This research provides theoretical contributions by extending dynamic capabilities theory through the identification of sequential micro-foundations and offers practical implications for forwarding managers, industry associations, and policymakers regarding integrated digital and green strategies.

Abstract

MSME souvenir products are one of the local business sectors that help support regional economic growth by offering products that represent the unique characteristics of an area and are often purchased as gifts or souvenirs. To remain competitive and continue growing, MSME businesses need to understand consumer needs and preferences. Therefore, identifying the factors that influence purchasing decisions is important for improving business performance and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the influence of price, packaging, and product quality on consumer purchase decisions on typical food products souvenirs of Aren Linggau MSMEs in Lubuklinggau City. The research uses a quantitative approach with a type of causal associative research. The data collection technique was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires with the Likert Scale  to 128 respondents who were selected using purposive sampling techniques  from a consumer population of 450 people per month. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed that price had a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions with a calculated t-value of 4.579. Packaging had a positive and significant effect with a t-value of 4.675. Product quality had a positive and significant effect with a t-value of 5.196. Simultaneously, the three variables had a significant effect on the purchase decision with an F value of 21.205. The Adjusted R Square value  of 0.323 indicates that the three variables were able to explain the purchase decision by 32.3%, while the remaining 67.7% were influenced by other variables that were not studied. This study provides an implication that souvenir food MSME actors need to pay attention to price suitability, packaging attractiveness, and product quality simultaneously as an effective marketing strategy.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of motivation, incentives, and work environment on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable at PT Mitra Niaga Madani. Employing a quantitative approach with saturated sampling, all 98 employees participated in the survey. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 3.0 and bootstrapping with 5,000 subsamples. The findings confirm seven of ten hypotheses. Motivation, incentives, and work environment significantly influence job satisfaction. However, motivation does not directly and significantly influence employee performance. Incentives, work environment, and job satisfaction demonstrate significant direct effects on performance. Crucially, the indirect pathways—motivation → job satisfaction → employee performance, incentives → job satisfaction → employee performance, and work environment → job satisfaction → employee performance—are all significant, demonstrating that job satisfaction functions as a complementary mediating mechanism. These findings confirm that enhancing employee performance requires integrated management of motivation, incentive systems, and work environment through strengthening job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Green Financial Literacy and ESG Awareness on Sustainable Investment Intention and to examine the role of Green Trust as a mediating variable among young investors in Indonesia. The study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design. Data were obtained through an online survey of 327 investors aged 18–40 years holding a Single Investor Identification (SID). Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Results indicate that Green Financial Literacy positively and significantly influences Green Trust (β = 0.348; p < 0.001), as does ESG Awareness on Green Trust (β = 0.326; p < 0.001). Green Trust emerges as the strongest direct predictor of Sustainable Investment Intention (β = 0.438; p < 0.001). Furthermore, Green Financial Literacy (β = 0.154; p = 0.004) and ESG Awareness (β = 0.142; p = 0.008) positively and significantly influence Sustainable Investment Intention directly. Green Trust also mediates the relationship between Green Financial Literacy and Sustainable Investment Intention (indirect effect = 0.152; p < 0.001) and between ESG Awareness and Sustainable Investment Intention (indirect effect = 0.143; p < 0.001). The model explains 41.2% of the variance in Green Trust and 52.7% of the variance in Sustainable Investment Intention. This study contributes to the literature by examining Green Financial Literacy as a sustainability-specific construct, identifying Green Trust as a mechanism connecting cognitive factors with sustainable investment intention, and providing empirical evidence from the context of young Indonesian investors. Findings suggest that knowledge and ESG awareness are not fully translated into investment intention without trust in the credibility of the sustainable financial ecosystem. These findings indicate that increasing sustainable investment requires a combination of strengthening green financial literacy and building trust. Financial institutions need to enhance education regarding sustainable financial products and ESG information transparency, while regulators need to strengthen ESG disclosure standardization and oversight of greenwashing practices. These efforts can strengthen investor trust and support the growth of sustainable investment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Improving employee performance is essential for strengthening public service delivery, and this concern underlies the present research at Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan Kelas IV Bengkalis. Although the institution already applies a system of reward and punishment intended to raise employee performance, whether this system actually works as intended had not yet been tested empirically. Accordingly, this research set out to measure how Reward and Punishment influence employee performance, both jointly and on their own. A quantitative design built around multiple linear regression was applied, with data processed in SPSS. Because the workforce was small, every one of the 32 employees was included as a respondent through saturated sampling. Beyond regression, the analysis covered correlation testing, the coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing through the F-test and t-test. Findings indicate that Reward correlates strongly with performance (r = 0.675), whereas Punishment shows a more moderate association (r = 0.487); combined, the two predictors account for 61.8% of the variance in performance (Adjusted R² = 0.618). Simultaneous testing confirms that Reward and Punishment together exert a significant positive influence on performance, and this pattern holds when each variable is examined separately as well. On this basis, applying Reward and Punishment in a fair, consistent, and objective manner appears capable of raising employee performance and, in turn, strengthening the quality of public service the institution provides.

The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS 25, including validity, reliability, classical assumption, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination analyses. The results showed that design quality had a positive and significant effect on business performance, with a t-value of 6.328 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Service quality also had a positive and significant effect on business performance, with a t-value of 7.352 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Service quality had a more dominant effect than design quality. Simultaneously, design quality and service quality had a positive and significant effect on business performance, with an F-value of 50.416 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.771 indicates that 77.1% of the variation in business performance can be explained by design quality and service quality, while the remaining 22.9% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. Therefore, improving design quality, particularly service quality, is an important factor in enhancing the business performance of tailoring service MSMEs in Lubuklinggau City
