Jurnal Keteknikan Pertanian dengan No. ISSN 2338-8439, pada awalnya bernama Buletin Keteknikan Pertanian, merupakan publikasi resmi Perhimpunan Teknik Pertanian Indonesia (PERTETA) bekerjasama dengan Departemen Teknik Mesin dan Biosistem (TMB) IPB yang terbit pertama kali pada tahun 1984, berkiprah dalam pengembangan ilmu keteknikan untuk pertanian tropika dan lingkungan hayati. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali setahun. Penulis makalah tidak dibatasi pada anggota PERTETA tetapi terbuka bagi masyarakat umum. Lingkup makalah, antara lain: teknik sumberdaya lahan dan air, alat dan mesin budidaya, lingkungan dan bangunan, energi alternatif dan elektrifikasi, ergonomika dan elektronika, teknik pengolahan pangan dan hasil pertanian, manajemen dan sistem informasi. Makalah dikelompokkan dalam invited paper yang menyajikan isu aktual nasional dan internasional, review perkembangan penelitian, atau penerpan ilmu dan teknologi, technical paper hasil penelitian, penerapan, atau diseminasi, serta research methodology berkaitan pengembangan modul, metode, prosedur, program aplikasi, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Abstract Traction performance of a cage wheel for two-wheel tractor depends on its shape dimension, lugs materials and soil condition. In order to get the optimum design of the cage wheel, the relation betwen tractor, implement and soil condition should be considered carefully. The objective of this research was to determine optimum design parameter of cage wheel based on working condition of tractor and to make a computer program for design analysis and for producing engineering drawing of the cage wheels. Soil condition and two-wheel tractor construction were measured and the data was used for getting the optimum design parameters by using optimization method. A computer program was developed and employed for the optimization process and for drawing the design result. As a trial of the program, the optimum design parameters of cage wheel for Yanmar YST-EX tractor working at Sawah Baru rice field were found to be: 80 cm of wheel diameter: 10 lugs: 19.63 cm x 9.68 c, of lug size; and 20o of lug angle. The result revealed that the program could determine the optimum design parameters and could produce the engineering drawing of the cage wheel property. Keyword: cage wheel. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research has been conducted to develop a measurement system of mangosteen quality by using an ultrasonic wave. The pulse signal cricuit has been used as a generating circuit of the measurement system. The pulse signal circuit consisted of timer circuit NE 555, monostabil, and amplife5r based on IC 741 with frequency of 50 kHz. The circuit of the ultrasonic wave receiver was developed based on the transistor and the IC 741. The interface and communications of data between the measurement system and the personal computer were carried out using a digital oscilloscope. The measurement system has been examined to determine the ultrasonic wave parameters including attenuation coeffiecient and impedance at the air medium and the mangostean. Abstract

ABSTRACT According to IEA 9International Ergonomics Association), ergonomics or human factors is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding or interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. To achieve effectiveness and productivity, work system designer have to consider not only the technological aspects, but also the relationship between user and system. User satisfaction, comfortabillity, adjustablillity and worker safety, for example, are the most important parameters to be considered in the design processea. There are two ergonomics approach in the job design, i.e., micro ergonomics and macro ergonomics. Micro ergonomics analyzes task-sub task, optimize worker, focused on detail design, and generally physical measure such as length, force, lumens, decibels, time, etc. Macro ergonomics analyzezz group of worker, focused on broad overview and generally organizational and/or subjective measures such as number of people, span of controls, attiudes, morals, shift schedules and sosio-technical design. Shift work is well recognized risk factors for occuptional safety and health. Evaluation and design of working time arrangements gain importance due to economical changes and overall reduction of safety and health problems. The aim of this paper is to review the main factors of ergonomics approach applied on shift work design to improve systems productivity and occupation safety and health. Abstract

ABSTRACT Due to its advantageouse characteristic, aluminum is considered to substitute the existing steel as material of the supporting frame of  power tiller to meet the strength and environment concerns. The investigation was emphasized on the comparison of both material in view of stress and deformation. In this study, both experimental test and finite element (FE) analysis were employed to meet the research concem.comparison between the experimental test and numerical analysis result indicated acceptable differnces of about 7-33% wich is lower than the previouse research. Substitution with aluminum was confirmed using material index that aluminum has better performance in strength and stiffness than that of steel by prescibing minimum better performance in strength and stiffness than that of steel by prescibing minimum weight. FE analysis result revealed that aluminum model was capable of sustaining loads about equal to the steel model. It was based on its maximum von Mises stress wich was insignificatly lower than the steel model. In term of strength characteristic, strength ratio of the aluminum model was higher than the steel model. Furthemore, the substitution also resulted in redistrubuting stress into wider area and mass reduction for about 36%. Abstract

ABSTRACT Green and Ampt infiltration model is still useful for the infiltration process because of a clear physical basis of the model and of the existence of the model parameter values for a wide range of soil.  The objective of thise study was to analyze error on the esimation of cumulative infiltration in sooil using Green and Ampt model and to design laboratory experiment in measuring cumulative infiltration. Parameter of the model was determined based on soil physical properties from laboratory experiment. Newton –Raphson method was esed to estimate wetting front during calculation using visual Basic for Application (VBA) in MS Word. The result showed that Dq contributed the highest error in estimation of cumulative infiltration and was followed by K, H0, H1, and t respectively. It also showed that the calculated cumulative infiltration is always lower than both measured cumulative infiltration and volumetric soil water content. Abstract

Abstract Requirement of food and nutrients in a specified is a determined by the growth of population, avai1ability of agriculture, plantation, animl husbandry and fisheries resources. Sufficient food forconsumption can be calculated bused on sexes, ages and other human conditions. To fulfill food sufficency is also dependent upon non­-consumptive use of the resources such as for seed,feed, industry and export. Comsumption of both food and nutrients in Indonesia follows the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) with the approach on the Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP). Goals of and management based on its sustability are necessarily oriented to produce agricultural commodities to meet the requirement of nutrients and food in a balanced condition. Thus, It Is of Interest to optimize bio-resource management with respects to the fulfillment of food and nutrient sufficiency in a localized area. The use of linear programming may give possible by the people living there. Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper is devoted to discuss the exergy analysis on the utilization of heat storage for a solar drying system. The heat was stroad in the from of sensible heat using pebble bed as the medium. For the analysis , an exergy balance model was developed from the system’s heat balance. The results show that the minimum value of exergy destruction ratio was obtained within two hours after the process was started. The minimum ratio expresses the most effective operation of the stroge system. Upon performing the simulation study, it was found that the number of transfer unit (NTU) influen the change in exergy destruction ratio, with anoptimal value could be in the range of 0,5 to 0,8. Within the NTU range, the ratio of exergy destruction was found to be 0,85. It means that only 15% of the exergy gained from the solar collector can be transferred to the heat stroge medium. The other part of the exergy could be transferred to the drying room or destructed during the process. In order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding on the exergy flow of the system, there necessary an exergy analysis on the drying system. Abstract

ABSTRAK Makalah ini Mengetengahkan suatu pendekatan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pangan berdasarkan pada pemenuhan kecukupan gizi yang seimbang. Angka Kecukupan Gizi (AKG 2004) menjadi pegangan dalam menghitung kebutuhan asupan energi harian per kapita yang bersumber dari Gizi Mikro, Yaitu Karbohidrat, Lemak dan Protein. Komposisi ketiga Gizi Mikro yang seimbang merupakan kendala yang harus dipenuhi dalam Optimalisasi ini. Demikian pula, ketersediaan bahan pangan diperhitungkan sebagai kendala penting lainnya. Di sini, bahan pangan dikelompokan atas Beras, Jagung, Umbi-umbian, Biji-bijian, Daging, Telur, Susu, Ikan, Sayuran, Buah-buahan dan Minyak. Dalam Optimalisasi digunakan Metode Pemograman Linier. Hasil Optimalisasi menunjukan bahwa ketersediaan bahan pangan sampai saat ini masih jauh untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi yang seimbang walaupun produksi bahan pangan yang sudah melebihi kebutuhan. Hasil Optimalisasi ini juga memberikan gambaran bahwa produksi Beras, Jagung, Umbi-umbian, Ikan dan Sayuran pada tahun 2005 sudah mencukupi bahkan sampai tahun 2015. Sebaliknya, produksi bahan pangan yang lainnya untuk tahun 2005 saja masih kurang mencukupi. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar supaya peningkatan produksi pertanian lebih difokuskan pada Biji-bijian, Daging, Telur, Susu, Buah-buahan dan Minyak. Optimalisasi dapat dipakai sebagai alat bantu dalam perencanaan dan implementasi pengembangan pertanian baik dalam skala nasioanal maupun daerah. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to develop a computer program of image processing and articial neural netwok to the quality of fresh soybean (edamame) into four classes namely SQ (standar quality), SG (scond grade), TG ( third grade), and RJ (reject) using image processing and artifical neural network. The total samples were 2500 fresh soybean produced by PT. Mitra Tani Dua Tujuh Jember. Soybean image was analyzed to get six quality parameters whose match with Soybean quality criteria namely pod length, pod area, perimeter, defect area, index of red color, and of the artifical neural network (AAN). Six variations of ANN weredeveloped for ANN training purposes (2000 data). The weights of the selected ANN architecture was used to identify the quality class of testing data (500 data). Thenintegrated with image processing program so the program could identify Soybean quality class automatically. The quality parameter used in this research has relevancy with Soybean quality criteria. The selected architecture of the AAN was the one with 20 nodes hidden layer in which normalization onput data representation with zero mean and standard deviation equals one. The accuracy of image processing program observed 81,4 percent based on the 500 testing data. Abstract

ABSTRACT The amendment of organic matter into soil can improve the soil condition and prevent soil comaction caused by tractor traffice. The aims of this research are to know the influence or tractor traffic and organic matter on nature of physical mechanic of soil, analyze the influence of tractor traffic and organic matter on performance of soil tillage and to know the influence of soil compaction on performance of peanut crop. This research was conducted in leuwikopo farm (dry land) and in the laboratory for soil analyze. The result show that tractor traffic and organic matter treatmen have effect to soil compaction and performance peanuut crop. The highest value of bulk density is 1.2 g / cm3 at 6 traffic with the organic matter doses 4 ton /ha /hatreatment. The biggest number of pods is 25 pod / tree there is at 2 traffic with pod / tree at 6 traffic without organic matter treatment. Keyword: Tractor traffic, organic matter, soil compaction.
