Abstract

Business challenges involving external and internal problems occur within the attempts made by PT. PLN (Persero) in providing electricity services and in completing the 35.000 MW electricity project. External problems are related to Holder of Electricity Service Business Permit or Pemegang Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik (PIUPTL) that has opened this business as a non-monopolistic business. Meanwhile, internal problems include inadequate number of employees and imbalance proportion of employees who are retiring shortly. Those issues demand the company to guarantee that all organizational knowledge is well-documented before the retirement, regeneration and employee placement. In addition, the competence of employees and structural staffs should be improved. These attempts have to be administered to utilize the knowledge owned by the company to drive new innovations in order to improve the services given to customers and to improve the corporate performance. The building of new power plants and transmissions should be well-anticipated by PT. PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi that hold the responsibility related to the quality of electricity distribution. In order to run those roles, it is necessary to determine clear target of Action Plan and Company Budget for new projects, infrastructure maintenance for electricity distribution to avoid energy not sales. The success of company projects is measured by several parameters including time, quality and costs. The success of those project can be achieved through good innovation, organizational culture and organizational learning that have been empirically validated in prior research. However, research on the simultaneous influence of those three variables on the success of a project especially on the utility aspect has not yet been conducted. This research was conducted to investigate variables that were assumed to have significant influence on project performance including organization learning, organizational culture and innovation. This research involved 75 unit managers of Unit Pelaksana Pelayanan Pelanggan in all Unit Induk Distribusi all over Indonesia. In this research, the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used in data validation and data analysis. The results of this research showed that Organizational Culture had a significant and positive influence on Project Performance. Meanwhile, Organizational Learning was found to have a positive and significant influence on Innovation. Those findings are expected to provide valuable insights for the company management in designing work programs to improve Organizational Culture and Organizational Learning

Abstract

In December 1999, there was a large demonstration in Seattle, United States which triggered large demonstrations elsewhere to oppose neo-liberalism. An ideology of the capitalists in uniting a world economy free of national boundaries. Neoliberalism policies also occur in Indonesia, such as through privatization, the application of a flexible labor market or outsourcing The problem discussed in this paper is how the trade union movement and response to the policy of neoliberalism theoretical studies in this study use Marx's Conflict Theory, Smelserian social movements and Gramsci's Hegemony. This research uses descriptive, qualitative type The results showed that there were two types of trade unions that emerged after the reform, namely moderate trade unions and radical trade unions. The responses of these two types of trade unions differ in their response to the policy of neoliberalism. The first union prefers compromise while the radical trade union prefers confrontational methods. The emergence of labor awareness about the dangers of neoliberalism is a step forward when compared to the image of the previous labor movement. which only moves at the level of normative issues

Abstract

Tight competition encourages textile companies to increase their competitiveness to efficient in all fields, especially by reducing material stock to its optimum figures without disrupting production operations. Currently this textile manufacture has implemented SAP as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. SAP is currently used as Material Resources Planning (MRP), purchasing and inventory control software. Purchases are made automatically using Reorder Point (ROP) and inventory control using the ABC analysis method. In time being there is no relationship between the ABC analysis method to inventory control and ROP. With this condition, the purchase order for material is raised when the stock level is lower than ROP even these unnecessary, causing the stock to become slow moving and dormant when it reaches six months laying on the warehouse and causing excess inventory. This study aims to design and implement how the ABC method can be used to determine purchasing decisions and which ROP calculations should be used. The ABC multi criteria analysis in this study shows that ABC categorization is acceptable for deciding ROP determination. This method of inventory management has the potential to reduce inventory levels up to 17% and eliminate dormant and slow moving

Abstract

Human Development Index (HDI) is one of measuring instrument of achieving quality of life of one region even country. There are three basic components of the Human Development Index compilers: health dimension, knowledge dimension, and decent living dimension. Classification is a method for compiling data systematically according to the rules that have been set previously. In recent years, classification method has been proven to help many people’s work, such as image classification, medical biology, traffic light, text classification etc. There are many methods to solve classification problem. This variation method makes the researchers find it difficult to determine which method is best for a problem this framework is aimed to compare the ability of classification methods, such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) Linear Kernel, Radial Basis Function (RBF) Kernel and Polynomial kernel methods. The result of classification of HDI by using RBF kernel is the best kernel to solve HDI problem, with parameter combination cost= 1 and gamma=1 obtained classification accuracy of 98.1% which is the best classification accuracy.

Abstract

Malang is a city in East Java with the level of development of rapid settlement areas, the region has grown in areas of land rainwater. The consequence of this development is the emergence of some new inundation in urban areas, one of them in Subdistrict Lowokwaru. Carrying amount inundation problems that occurred during 2018 in the Subdistrict Lowokwaru 4 times. Largely due to the drainage conditions are not maintained and are filled with trash and sediment. The conditions resulted in reduced sewer capacity and are not able to drain rainwater discharge and wastewater. Evaluation of the drainage system in subdistrict Lowokwaru includes analysis of technical and economic. On the technical aspects, hydrology and hydraulic analysis are carried out and evaluates sewer capacity. Economic aspects discuss the funding costs and maintenance operations of the drainage system management, as well as discuss the analysis of feasibility studies by calculating Benefit Cost Ratio and Net Present Value. The analysis showed that there are 21 sewers in condition without sediment that capacity is insufficient and 23 sewers in conditions with sediment are not met or sewer capacity is not technically eligible. It is necessary for a handling plan as an attempt to deal with the sewer capacity to drain the runoff discharge. The evaluation of economic aspects shows that the activity of handling inundation problems in the drainage system in Subdistrict Lowokwaru is feasible. This can be seen from the value of the B / C ratio is 1.83 (greater than 1) and the NPV value is positive

Abstract

Competitive business climate, lack of capital and urban land function changes have an impact on land assets that are not optimally used. State-owned land with an area of 32,495 m2 with a market value of 227,773,000,000 rupiah contained a cultural heritage building. The land is located in the east Kalimantan corridor, trade zone and service, which is the waterfront city development area of the city of Surabaya. This study aims to optimize assets and find the best development alternatives in asset utilization to become a profit center for the company. Based on surveys and interviews, found that the possible development alternatives to be carried out were Mixed Use Commercial (a1), Diesel Engine Industry (a2) and Maximize Workshop capacity (a3). Highest and Best Use (HBU) was found to be one of the techniques of decision making in the development of land and property. HBU criteria are used to build a value-based decision hierarchy. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to develop decision making processes based on preferences and the best choices. The best alternative is obtained from the Satisficing Option calculation. This result is obtained by comparing functions to costs. The function is obtained from the HBU criteria and costs come from the estimated initial costs and life cycle costs (Life Cycle Cost). Based on financial analysis calculation obtained that mixed-use commercial development has the highest and best use Net Present Value (NPV) IDR 2,470,771,622,513 with an investment cost of IDR 1,367,230,380,324. Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 20.66% with a payback period of 6.70 years. Based on AHP analysis with HBU-Value Based Decision criteria and Satisficing Option calculations it was found that the mixed-use commercial property development is a development alternative chosen by stakeholders to optimize BUMN assets

Abstract

Heritage buildings are designed mostly to be adaptive with the local climate. The main purpose of these adaptive strategies is to create users' thermal comfort as well as solving the problem of high rain precipitation in the tropical climate area. These thermal adaptation strategies will definitely influence room daylight condition. External shading device used in heritage building is one of thermal adaptation strategies, but it will also obstruct the daylight penetration. Design solution should be thought to maximise daylight condition. However, the design solution for heritage building has its own limitations where certain guidelines must be adhered, especially when resizing the existing windows to obtain better daylight condition is needed. This research studies the daylight condition on the designated schools and finding the most feasible solutions to overcome the lighting problems. The existing condition of the daylight was measured using lux meter and the data obtained were analysed descriptively by comparing to the related references in order to gain a maximum result. A simulation by using computer software was also conducted for simulating daylight level in both buildings. Based on the measurements that have been conducted, it shows that the daylight level on the designated buildings was below the standard and the current artificial lighting system was also failed to create the standard illuminance level The solutions for this problems are resizing the window or creating an artificial lighting system. Although in this research proposes 2 solutions to overcome the problems, the latter solution is considered as the most feasible solution to treat heritage building to be a visually comfortable building without major alteration on the building fabrics since both studied buildings are listed as a National Heritage Monument.
