Abstract

Road plays an important life in human life in the present and in the future. Road serves to connect one area to another. Good road condition can support land transportation, development, economy, and government can run smoothly, and vice versa. Many factors result in road damage so that service life of road is not as planned. The objective of research is to compare two roads: Aminweri-Yendoker Street constituting the road in Supiori Regency Biak-Korem-Supiori Street constituting the national road connecting Biak and Supiori Regencies. This research employed Pavement Condition Index (PCI) to assess road damage level and condition and Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) to determine the economic cost during the road’s service life. The result of assessment using PCI method showed medium PCI score of 51.6 for Regency road and 69.3 for National road. Using LCCA method, the most efficient road management to achieve the service life of the two roads can be determined.

Abstract

Delays in construction projects schedule is one of the most noticed problems. Delays may be caused by several project parties and further categorized into excusable non-compensable delays (EN) caused by many factors beyond parties’ control, excusable-compensable delays (EC) caused by the owner, and non-compensable delays (NE) caused by the contractor. Another issue is concurrency in delays. The result of concurrent delay often leads the project parties into complicated situations. Thus, understanding the causes and identifying the types of delays are essential to be done before executing the delay analysis methods in order to allocating the liability of each party. This study concludes that some existed schedule delay analysis methods produce different results, therefore, the practitioners or schedule delay analyst should understand the anticipated results that can be accepted by all construction projects parties.

Abstract

Improving supply chain management is one way to excel in competition. The selection of suppliers is an important part because the lack of proper supplier selection can lead to losses for the company. In its practice, the supplier selection process is more frequently based on a supplier that can provide the lowest price. This happens because the supplier selection process is considered to be at the operational level and not at the strategic level. The number of raw material suppliers on the construction project makes the developers be careful in choosing the material that is according to the developers’ plans. All this time, the selection of suppliers involves many factors, sometimes a supplier has a good performance in terms of the delivery process, yet lacks in terms of quality compared to other suppliers and vice versa. Therefore, research must be done with a method that can take the factors, both the qualitative and quantitative, into consideration. This study is conducted to identify the factors of the selection of construction raw material suppliers and the support of alternative decision support in the selection of construction raw material suppliers. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors of the selection of raw material suppliers and the support of alternative decision in the selection of construction raw material suppliers. This research is expected to help the construction industry, especially in the city of Jember regarding the importance of knowing the factors of the selection of construction raw material suppliers and the decision of the selection of construction raw material suppliers especially if the selection of the construction raw material is in the power of the developer. The method used is the integration of AHP and Vikor using rough number. This research is expected to facilitate the process of selecting raw material suppliers and the selection of its alternatives. The results of this study gain the order of priority of 9 criteria and 23 sub-criteria. The recommended selection of suppliers based on its ranking on the sand suppliers is sand supplier P3, sand supplier P2, and sand supplier P1. Meanwhile, the ranking for the coral suppliers is coral supplier K3, then coral supplier K2, and lastly coral supplier K1

Abstract

Priority loads, in micro grid is preferred load to always get the power supply. Battery function, in micro grid, in addition, functioning as a storage energy, it also serves as a stabilizer of network, due to intermittent of energy sources, both solar and from wind. As energy storage, battery is intended to supply energy when other sources of energy is not available. So far, the mechanism of battery operation, distributed on each generation, so that when operation standalone, battery capacity is not in optimal level. In this study, proposed, method of centralized control battery operation, which would regulate the use of battery operation, especially to supply the load priority. So that the power supply from the battery to the load priority, it would be optimal in optimal level when other sources are no longer, by utilizing parameters weather and load forecast.

Abstract

Today, the usage of food additives can be found in nearly every food, especially in packaged foods. Meanwhile, the majority of people are unaware of the impact of the use of food additives in the human body when consumed freely. One of the easiest ways to determine the ingredients of a packaged food,  is to read the label of product composition. If it is doubtful, then the product was not consumed. However, public knowledge about food ingredients listed in the product composition is generally relatively low. So, even if they could determine the ingredients of the packaged food products, but still do not know the impact of their use. In this research, built an Android app of Food Additives Glossary that presents information about each type of food additives. This app has a barcode scanner and decoder using ZXing library to facilitate the acquisition of data from the food additives listed in packaged foods. User reads the barcode of packaged food products using the barcode scanner. This applications will display of food additives contained therein. Furthermore, the user can select one of the food additives and the application will display some information, such as: INS code, category (safety, unhealthy, dangerous), ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake) limits, side effects and further description of the food additives.
