Abstract

Many educational institutes as well as governments focus on education utilize Information Communication Technology (ICT), and the word “e- Learning” is used in various contexts. There are many attractive aspects in e-Learning such as possibility to reduce the restriction due to spatial and temporal distance, possibility to improve the quality of education, and possibility to share educational resources among institutions. It is obvious to reduce the restriction by means of ICT such as mobile network. Also when a course is designed, the achievement level needs to be defined to satisfy the expected level of curriculum such as the diploma policy. In such a design process, it is possible to improve and sustain the achievement level of the course. In this paper, the principle motivation to utilize campus-wide e- Learning in Kumamoto University is explained as the background, then example courses of undergraduate and graduate programs are detailed to discuss the potential of e- Learning for enhancing education

Abstract

Cost of solid waste management, in Malang City, can not be covered by retribution; therefore government has to subsidized. Solid waste management expense consist of TPS (temporary collection location/Tempat penampungan sementara) investment, operational/maintenance of TPS, wipe of general facility, transport from TPS to landfill and landfill treatment. This study suggest tariff retribution calculation model of solid waste mangement at Malang City. The proposed model integrate 2 method, they are Activity Based Costing (ABC) system and building type. Activity Based Costing (ABC) system is used to gather cost of waste management. While building type is used to put cost upon tariff retribution of waste management at Malang City. The early stages was to identify any activities that generate expenses in waste management. The next phase is determining the cost driver from each activites. The last step is devide amount retribution based on building type. The result from this study show that cost of street sweeping is Rp. 6.275,35/km; cost of transporting solid waste is Rp. 96.832,40/trip and cost of landfill treatment is Rp. 6.275,35/m3. After that, calculate based on solid waste generated each type building.

Abstract

Abstract

In manufacturing, especially offshore, welding is one of the joining processes (steel) with very tight specification. Preparation time (fitting) both steel material which will be connected, especially when the material cutting process does not allow for mistakes, so when they do tuning of both material be spliced happen distance (gap) in excess of the standard, then the buttering method that does not eat a lot of time, wasted materials and dimensions of objects so it still makes tolerance in otherwise require. Buttering is the adding process of material in welding. It is applied on one or both sides to be connected, with the aim of giving the distance (gap) between the two materials will be in connection with welding processes meet the requirements of the standard (ASME Sec IX, 2010)1. This study aimed to indicate the effect of the buttering in welding. And the variety of wide buttering is 10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm. Material will be joined with welding process Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). In the test, material is low carbon steel type SA 36. Tests performed were tensile test, impact test, and the test macro etching. By those tests, will be Investigated what the differences between welding without buttering and with buttering. And the final results showed the addition of wide buttering decreased tensile strength, which declines in linear: buttering width 10 mm = 413.47 MPa , buttering width 15 mm = 397.48 MPa , buttering width 20 mm = 390.07 MPa. In impact strength, it increased, which increasing linear: width 10 mm = 1.82 J/mm², 15 mm width buttering = 1.90 J/mm², 20 mm width buttering = 1.94 J/mm². And in macro test, it was shown that a Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) in buttering spread larger than HAZ in material without buttering.
