Abstract

Dual channel supply chain is a combination of offline channel and online channel are running simultaneously as a new structure. Through online channels, consumers can find the best product prices. This is used by companies to implementing promotional prices to attract the attention of online consumers, one of them is by the flash sale program. Promotion aims to stimulate demand for a company’s product but along with the increase in demand is not always accompanied by an increase in profit. So it is necessary to consider the selling price of the product during the promotion and how long the promotion will be applied. This research is focused on determining the selling price of products and duration of the promotion as well as the impact using the help of Malpe software and Microsoft Excel. This study concluded that the lower price and the longer duration applied during the flash sale leads on the higher demand but will result in a decrease in profits. So that promotional strategies using the flash sale program can be applied if the company's main goal is only to increase the number of sales.

Abstract

In this study, microbial utilization of coffee pulp waste to produce three carbohydrases (cellulase, pectinase, and xylanase) has been investigated. An isolate Listeria sp. ISH-16 which grown in liquid medium containing 0.5% coffee pulp alkali extract can grow well with density of reach 107 x 58.5 cell/mL. Further, the culture can optimum produced of pectinase after 72 hours incubation at 37oC, but for cellulase and xylanase longer 84 hours incubation needed. The harvested of crude pectinase, cellulase and xylanase had activity 0.15, 0.23, and 0.61 unit/ ml after dialysis, respectively. All enzymes stable at a range of pH 4-5.5, but they work optimum at different pH. Of each enzyme pectinase, cellulase, and xylanase work optimum at pH 5, 4.5, and 5.5. based on these results, it may be adopted as a strategy to produce enzymes with low cost so that further investigation such as large scale and purification enzyme is needed.

Abstract

Climate change that occurs due to urbanization has implications for increased intraurban heating, or usually called urban heat island (UHI). East Surabaya has the most potential to experience increased surface temperature. The urban area has different configuration characteristics and became the most fundamental impact of the phenomenon. However, East Surabaya in climate resilience response has not emphasized adaptation based on urban configuration spatially. While changing the shape of the urban that has been built is most difficult to restore and requires expensive costs. The purpose of this study is to find what’s characteristics urban configuration caused UHI significantly. So, it can be a reference to an adaptation to minimize UHI intensity from the best type of urban configuration. This study uses a positivist paradigm. Remote sensing using LiDAR and Landsat imagery became the main source of this research. With geographic information system (GIS), UHI in the urban and suburban areas of East Surabaya has a temperature difference of around 1,590C. Characteristics of urban configuration are in classifications 2 to 7. Classification 2 is the central area of activity, while classification 7 is a sub-urban area. Urban Configuration have an impact to the UHI intensity. Classification 3 has the biggest effect on UHI.

Abstract

Traffic congestion have caused many impacts and losses both in terms of transportation, but also in terms of environmental, economic and social aspects. The increasing number of private vehicles and the decline in public interest in using public transportation is one of the main factors. The decline in public interest in using public transportation is influenced by several reasons, such as ease of access, lack of modes of transportation available, the duration of waiting time, and the duration of travel time. The TOD concept is used because it is a combination of urban planning development and transportation system design, which can help to solve transportation problems especially in urban areas. This study aims to identify and examine how TOD can increase the use of transit modes and transportation efficiency. This study used the System Dynamics model as a means of conceptual modeling (Causal Loop Diagrams) which will describe in detail the factors that will encourage the use of transit modes and improve the efficiency of the transportation system. The results of this study are expected to help provide an overview for policy makers or related parties in determining future directions and strategies related to the existing urban transportation system.

Abstract

In fulfilling health services in hospitals, the availability of human resources (HR) which includes doctors, nurses, midwives, and so on, plays a very important role. In terms of amount and dominant existence in the hospital in providing health services to patients is a nurse. The role of hospital management in maintaining the availability of nurses is to plan a good schedule. Without a good resource scheduling plan, the services will not be optimal and the costs will hard to control. This research aims to optimize the nurse scheduling. Existing schedule did not pay attention to specific time that have different load to another. Management feels that a lot of idle time is experienced by some nurses. Therefore, from the data that occurred in the past there will be observations that every 4 hours will occur how many services performed and how many nurses needed. Furthermore, by using Goal Programming method, several priority objectives are made, such as how to minimize the deviation of nurses needed in one shift or slot. Then how to minimize the excess target number of nurses who work in one week. And then minimize the excess number of nurses who work on the night shift. The suggested mathematical model has been implemented using Lingo Software. Work patterns have been suggested to improve schedules quality based on different load of services that occur in specific time. The suggested approach can be used for any similar staff scheduling problem in the next research.

Abstract

Unit Utilitas Batu Bara (UBB) is one of the power plants owned by PT Petrokimia Gresik which began operating in 2010. UBB consists of a steam boiler with a capacity of 2x150 tons per hour and a power plant with a capacity of 25 megawatt. There is waste in the electricity production process at UBB which is indicated by the value of actual efficiency is low compared to the value of efficiency in the design and performance test. This research discusses efforts to reduce waste in the process of steam and electricity production in UBB by making value stream mapping, identifying waste, conducting root cause analysis, and making FMEA. Through data collection and processing, interviews with expert employees at UBB, as well as comparing reference activities and actual activities, obtained that waste occurs in coal out from coal mill, boiler water, and boiler efficiency. Through analysis 5 whys, obtained fifteen root causes of waste. Through the calculation of events, severity, and detection the risk priority number is obtained. Based on the existing critical risks, through the collection of FMEA worksheets, an estimate of actions to reduce waste that occurred at UBB was obtained. The results showed that all total waste obtained was Rp. 126,364,598.13 / day in UBB. By asking for alternative improvements, a potential savings value of Rp.74,436,596 / day is obtained.

Abstract

Lack of education and training facilities for youth people who are in accordance with the visual learner's learning system makes one aspect of the lack of interest of youth in developing and increasing their productivity. Therefore, this research is conducted to provide an architectural concept that can adapt to the visual learner's learning system for youth. The design concept of the design uses a multisensory theory approach to create attention, sensation and memory into the visual learner learning system for youth. In addition, the direct analogy approach to visual functions becomes one of the design strategies to give attention especially youth in better understanding the stages to be carried out, namely the professionalism stage. Architectural factors that influence the productivity of youth are the shape, scale, color, and materials used in rooms and buildings. This was obtained by means of observation and participatory questionnaires with youth of productive age. Besides the professionalism factors that can assess the productivity of youth are knowledge, skills, and attitude. This was obtained by the questionnaire method with the HRD manager. The method used in the idea uses the concept base framework design method. To present a moment in the design framework, it is necessary to have a research method in it, namely participatory qualitative methods, literature observation and environmental mapping on selected land. The moment presented will limit the exploration of elements that have a role in increasing visual perception in youth’s productivity. Moment will evaluate architectural factors that can be adapted to existing environmental conditions, so as to create the perfect concept in increasing the productivity of youth.

Abstract

XYZ Mart is a convenience store in Tulungagung regency. Founded in 2012, this store is designed to serve the daily needs of surrounding residents. In addition, this store also caters for the needs of families visiting patients at the hospital in front of XYZ Mart. Along with the store growth, there are more and more customers, and so the more demand. To handle the increasing demand, the store has to increase its inventory of goods. Problems arise when the number of goods keep increasing while the store inventory space does not. Therefore, in order to avoid overstocking or understocking, a research and planning are conducted to determine the optimal number of an order. The method used for inventory optimization is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to calculate the most optimal number of goods ordered. To anticipate the uncertainty of demand, Safety Stock (SS) is also used. To determine the average demand per year based on historical data, as a basis for EOQ and SS calculations, a Monte Carlo simulation is used. The expected outcome of this research is to provide recommendations of when and how much goods must be ordered so that the store can optimally use its limited space of inventory.
