Abstract

Pelabuhan Petrokimia Gresik is one of the element to support the goverment regarding to maintain stability of fertilizer loading speed. The issue that occurs at Pelabuhan Petrokimia Gresik is the low speed of loading of fertilizer in the bag for the past 4 years. The low speed of loading fertilizer in bag tends to affect its cost. This study aims to simulate the process of loading fertilizer in bag at the Port of Petrokimia Gresik in order to find out the factors which influence the speed deterioration of fertilizer bagging process and applicable alternative scenarios to improve the process of loading fertilizer in bag. Simulations were executed using discrete simulation methods. The results show that loading speed downturn are influenced by significant factors as follows: high loading preparation time at the dock, which consumes 29,35% of loading activity; the high loading time at the dock, which reaches 23,15% of loading activity; also the extensive duration of truck commute from the warehouse to the pier which utilizes 22,95% of loading activity. This study evaluate 7 alternative improvement scenarios. According to ROI perspective, it is preeminent to additionally put field internal control personnel at each shift when loading fertilizer in bag, which can increase the loading speed to 668,29 tons / day, of investment (ROI) of 68% will be obtained within 1 year and the payback period will approximately result in 0,60 years. The best scenario in terms of loading speed is to add internal control personnel and apply a new method of loading fertilizer using a sling bag with an increase in loading rate to 804.17 tons / day, following ROI value of 23% within one year and a PP value of 0.81 year.

Abstract

The controlled morphology of mesoporous silica particle with colloidal silica as precursor solution was investigated using spray drying method. The colloidal silica solution was made from sodium silicate (waterglass) using sol-gel method. The operating condition of spray dring such as precursor solution volumetric rate and hot air flowrate was varied to study the effect of the silica particle’s morphology. Two-fluid nozzle was used as atomizer with volumetric rate ranged from 1.6 mL/min to 5 mL/min, and hot air heated from tubular furnace with flowrate ranged from 210 L/min to 414 L/min, both resulting doughnut-like shape with more doughnut fraction with increased volumetric rate. With the increase of volumetric rate from 1.6 mL/min to 5 mL/min, the surface area and total pore volume are tend to decrease (168.234 to 131.001 m2/g and 0.1652 to 0.1251 cc/g respectively). Meanwhile, for increasing hot air flowrate from 210 L/min to 414 L/min, the surface area are tend to increase (135.353 to 168.234 m2/g) but total pore volume tend to decrease (0.1921 to 0.1652 cc/g).

Abstract

42” SNP-BEM is the biggest buried gas export pipeline belong to PT XYZ and has been operated joinly with PT POMA for duration of 20 years. Until today, this pipe has survived very well from the worst potential failure or risk events such as rupture and leak since all strategic of maintenances are considered as sufficient facing the sources of risk agent, despite still different perceptions are presence among the operators in real application. Nevertheless, following the operation versus times, there is an increasing of potential external threat or risk agents due to the growth of housing, the overlapped operational permit of industrial of non-oil/gas, illegal road crossing which may cause the occurrence of risk events/failures. In 2016, there was a critical incident of the soil movement caused by the excessive load of coal’s stock pile nearby ROW and impacted to the pipe movement about 6 meters in horizontal and 2 meters in vertical and may lead to disastrous. Therefore, a more effective maintenance strategy is to be developed to reduce these risks. Combination of Fish Bone diagram (FBD) and House of Risk (HOR) is selected to identify the sources of risk and to develop more effective risk-based maintenance strategy. Based on the assessment, it is identified (twelve) 12 credible risk agents which contributing to pipeline failures/risk events and (eight) 8 proposed preventive actions to reduce the risk. These proposed actions shall be agreed by all operators as a reference for developing risk-based maintenance strategy.

Abstract

The XYZ company had a project to install the generator set (genset) in several island in Indonesia. The project was estimated to finish in 10 months, but it delayed up to 20 months. This delayment made the company experience cost overruns. In the other hand, according to Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource (MSDM) in 2016, the electrification in this project area has not reached 100%. The area are including Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara (WTB), Papua, Sulawesi and Maluku. The tardiness was caused by the company can't mitigate the project risk optimally. Therefore this research aims to evaluate this genset installation project to assess the risk, thus in the next project the company can avoid project delay and the overruns cost. The research uses Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) in risk assessment to identify the basic event of the project’s problem. First, this research collect the report of the project. Second, this project collect the problems that caused project delay. There are 154 problems found in this research. The FTA method divides the problems found into 13 basic event. The highest risk that triggers problem for this project are from two basic events, which are user error with the probability rate 0,2013 and installation error with the probability rate 0,1494.

Abstract

Indonesia consists of various diverse tribes and cultures. Culture is the result of people's thoughts and behavior. Culture can also act as the identity of a tribe that has its characteristics. The difference in characteristics is interesting to study, one of which is the culture of Aceh in Indonesia. Aceh is rich in cultural values and customs because of its historical background. Influences from various backgrounds eventually shaped the characteristics of Acehnese. The culture of Aceh has been discussed in several studies, but no one has focused on the context of settlement. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze aspects of Aceh's culture in a settlement. Cultural aspects can be analyzed based on world views, values, manifestations, activity systems, and social expressions. This study is a literature review, which uses secondary data to answer the research objectives. Secondary data were obtained from literature related to research topics, such as books, journals, regulations, etc. Furthermore, the data collected will be analyzed and concluded using descriptive analysis. The study results explain that every aspect of Aceh's culture refers to Islamic rules, where the balance between customary law and religious law is important for Acehnese lives.

Abstract

Rumah susun (walk up flat) are one of the buildings that rely on natural ventilation. However, the application of natural ventilation in rumah susun (walk up flat) in urban areas is influenced by tropical climate problems such as high temperatures and low wind speeds. The design of the openings in the facade has not been able to distribute air into rooms properly. In addition, the layout design makes single-sided natural ventilation the only strategy possible for double loaded corridor type flat. This study aimed to determine the effect of a combination of pivot window designs and wing walls in directing and distribute air into room. The study was conducted in two stages, that was field measurements and experimental with Computational Fluids Dynamics simulations. Simulations were conducted on a combination designs of wing walls and pivot window with 45o and 90o opening angles to determine their effects on the distribution and indoor air velocity. The combination design of wing walls and pivot window created a pressure difference so that it could increase indoor air velocity under both oblique and parallel to the opening. In the direction of the wind that was not oriented to the openings, the combination of wing walls and vertical pivot windows with 90o opening angles increased indoor air velocity up to five times in the corner room. While the 45o opening angle increased the indoor air velocity up to seven times than base case condition in a middle room.

Abstract

An essential dimension for street children in coaching and learning in urban areas like Surabaya is the independence of learning in individual street children who are related to their privacy needs. Awareness of these privacy needs can be done with a perception approach that will vary from one person to another. The appropriate form of architecture as an attempt to deal with the problem of street children in Surabaya is a learning space. The main target and scope of the learning space are in the city of Surabaya, with a dense urban range and high economy. The method used in the search for design criteria is the observe rituals method. The process starts by observing and recording in detail the various events in a setting. Search for design criteria in this study as data to be implemented in a force-based framework, which is then reviewed to produce a learning space architecture design. The movement and performance of children in the learning process is a significant factor in the search for learning space design criteria. The results showed that moveable, active, open, theatrical, and excited were essential factors to produce design criteria.
