Abstract

ABSTRACT Fish reproduction aspect must be know to improve some fish to be broodstock, like as food needed, water quality etc.  The other aspect must be know is how long body size at the first time maturity.  Size body at the first time maturity in fish is important information, because this information will give us how long in body some fish begin done reproduction. This research was conducted in Klaving river, Purbalingga residence of Midle Java, fishes were sampled twice a month (March to December). The variable measured were total length where fish reach gonad maturity on 4th level. The result of this research was shown that 148.9010 mm of body size for Mystus negriceps reach the first time maturity. Keywords : reproduction, first time maturity, Klawing river

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe frequency of flushing on coconut charcoal and sponge filters by Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS) can apply to maintain water quality. This research was conducted on Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from March to May 2017. The study used Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were using filter flushing every week (P1), 2 weeks (P2), 3 weeks (P3) and without leaching (P4). The parameters observed were temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS) and ammonia. The results showed that the flushingfrequency gave of the filter has a positive effect on water quality parameters. Treatment P2 has resulting better water quality such as temperature (28.3-29.2), pH (6.9-7.2), DO (1.11 mg.L-1), Turbidity (0.00 NTU), TDS (22.33 mg.L-1), ammonia (0.020 mg.L-1), survival rate 83.33%, absolute growth (0.93 cm for lenght and 0.58 g for weight). Keywords: flushing of filter, resirculation system, water quality, angelfish

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different levels dietary asatxanthin supplementation on growth performance of Snakehead. This research was used completely randomized design and be repeated three times. The fish used are natural source with average body weight of 2,90±0,17 g. Fish were reared for 30 days in sized nets 100x100x50 cm3. The experimental obeserved were different levels astaxanthin supplementation, namely; 0, 100 and 200 mg/kg diet. The result showed that, fed on the diet supplemented with astaxanthin 200 mg/kg diet produced the best final weight, daily growth rate and feed efficiency (8.24 g, 4.14% and 85.31%). The supplementation astaxanthin 100 and 200 mg/kg diet did not affect on survival rate of snakehead

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aims of this research were to know the effect of periodical starvation on growth, survival rate, and feed efficiency of tilapia. The experimental fish weight was 8.945±0.185 g. Research used completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. The treatments were fish subjected one day starvation and one day refeeding (P1), fish subjected one day starvation and two days refeeding (P2), fish subjected one day starvation and three days refeeding (P3), fish subjected one day starvation and four days refeeding (P4), fish subjected one day starvation and five days refeeding (P5) and fish fed daily (control). Fish were fed three times a day at 08.00 am, 12.00 pm, 05.00 pm using at satiation method. The results showed no significant differences in growth, survival rate and feed efficiency were observed at each treatments and control. This research showed that the best periodical starvation for growth, feed efficiency and survival rate of tilapia was P3. As long as the research, water quality was in optimum range for tilapia were  temperature 27-29oC,  dissolved oxygen 3.73-4.99 mg.L-1, pH 6.8-7.3, and ammonia 0.003-0.012 mg.L-1.   Keywords: Starvation, growth, feed efficiency, tilapia

Abstract

ABSTRACT Streptococcosis is one of disease that attack nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), which is caused by Streptococcus agalactiae. The aim of this research is to know effectivity of black cummin (Nigella sativa) to prevent S. agalactiae. This research was conducted on November-December 2014 in Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan and Laboratorium UPT. Klinik Kesehatan, Sriwijaya University. The design of this research used Complete Randomized Design (CRD)  with five treatments and three replications were, fish fed commercial feed and infected, fish fed commercial feed and addition of black cummin 3.5%, 7%, 10.5% and 14% and infected. The result of this research showed the addition of black cummin to feed can prevented and increase immune system on nile tilapia to bacterial S. agalactie with dose 3.5%. The in vitro test showed inhibition  zone diameter 1.75 cm and in vivo test showed hematocrite value 30%,  survival rate 90% and increase weight and lenght growth on nile tilapia.   Keywords : Streptococcosis, black cummin, nile tilapia

Abstract

ABSTRACT              Snakehead (Channa striata) is carnivorous fish that requires a source of nutrients from animal. Trash fish is one of alternative feed that can be used to rearing snakehead. This research aims to determine survival rate and growth of snakehead fry feeding by trash fish. This research is conduct on June- July 2016 in the Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Aquaculture Study Program. The research is design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consist of five treatments that are freshwater trash fish 100% (P1), marine trash fish 100% (P2), freshwater trash fish 75% : marine trash fish 25% (P3), freshwater trash fish 50% : marine trash fish 50% (P4), and freshwater trash fish 25% : marine trash fish 75% (P5). The parameters to be observed were survival rate, growth, feed efficiency and water quality. Based on the research results indicate (P4) the survival rate, growth absolutly length, absolutly weight and feed efficiency are significantly different. (P4) trash fish 50%: marine trash fish 50% diet is show highest value of survival rate, growth absolutly length, absolutly weight and feed efficiency are respectively 83.33%, 1.90 cm, 0.500 g and 71.93%.  Water quality of rearing measurements during the research were temperature 28.8-29.7°C, pH 6.5-7.9, dissolved oxygen 4.50-5.27 mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.09- 0.24 mg.L-1. Abstract

ABSTRACTMotile Aeromonas Septicaemia (MAS) is one of bacterial A. hydrophila disease frequently infecting freshwater fish include catfish (Pangasius sp.). Controling the disease of bacterial use chemical antibiotic will cause environment pollution. The aim of this research was to determine utilization of natural material that contain antibacterial such Leucas lavandulaefolia powder as antibacterial to treat of A. hydrophila infection for catfish. The implementation of research was from September until October 2014 at the Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and Laboratorium UPT Klinik Kesehatan Sriwijaya University. Research method was using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treat and three replications. The catfish was infected by A. hydrophila with clinical feature were (inflamed and hemorrhage) that give addition Leucas lavandulaefolia powder on commercial feed as many as 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%. The result showed that addition 10 % of Leucas lavandulaefolia powder on commercial feed was the best to treat of A. hydrophila infection for catfish were significant (P<0,05). In vitro test result showed that Leucas lavandulaefolia powder  at a concentration 10% as an antibacterial potential of A.hydrophila with inhibitor zone diameter 0.5 cm, at in vivo test the catfish that gives addition Leucas lavandulaefolia powder on commercial pellet as many as 10% capable hematocrit increase, reducing leucocyte completely, produce recovery percentage 84.44%, the survival rate 76.67%, highest absolute growth of catfish 3.03 g and higest absolute length of catfish 0.89 cm. Keywords : A. hydrophila, catfish, Leucas lavandulaefolia powder

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim  of the research was to fiad out sex ratio proportion on ovulation time, fecundity, fertilization, and hatching percentage of climbing perch eggs. The research used Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replicates with P as treatment code. The treatment used was ratio between female and male including P1(1:1), P2(1:2), P3(1:3), and P4(1:4). Observed parameters were ovulation time, fecundity, fertilization, hatching percentage, and water quality. Observed parameters were ovulation time, fecundity, fertilization, hatching percentage, and water quality. The Results showed that all treatment did not affected significantly affentedthe observed parameter (P<0,05). P2 treatment provided the fastest ovulation time with 137.33 minute, highest fecundity value provided by P4 with 18.533 eggs grains. Eggs fertilization rates of eggs on each treatmentwas 100%, and the highest hatching percentage was given by P1 treatment withnumber 91.57%. Ranges of water quality parameters recorded on  research                      were temperature 28-29 0C, pH 6.2-6.5, disollved oxygen 6.11-6.79 ppm and                       amonia 0.010-0.038 ppm. Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to know optimal feeding rate for growth, survival rate, food convertion, protein efficiency ratio, protein retention and lipid retention of Pangasius djambal fingerlings (weight 3.5-4.0 g). This experiment was done from Maret until May 2007, at Jambi Freshwater Aquaculture Development Center. This experiment used four treatments at feeding rate 2.50%, 5.00%, 7.50% and 10.00% of fish body weight. The result of research showed that the feeding rate 10.0% of fish body weight gave the highest value for daily growth rate 4.11%. the feeding rate 5.0% of body weight wasn’t different in daily growth rate until 7.50% of fish body weight significantly and gave food cenvertion efficiently until 1.35. The feeding rate 2.50% of fish body weight had the highest value for protein efficiency ratio (2.49), protein retention (153.70%) and lipid retention (175.31%). The optimum feeding rate for daily heavy growth rate were feeding rate 8.88% of fish body weight. Abstract

ABSTRACT The pupose of this research was to determine the utilization of phaleria flour as antibacterial to prevent A. hydrophila infection on sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.). This research was conducted since September 2014 until Januari 2015 at Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Aquaculture study program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya and Laboratorium UPT Klinik Kesehatan. The research methode used completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. Catfish fed for 14 days before infection with each treatments, havely 0.6%  phaleria flour in comersial feed, 0.8% phaleria flour in comersial feed, 1,0 %  phaleria flour in comersial feed and 1.2 % phaleria flour in comersial feed. Results showed that the treatment of flour Phaleria 1,0% could prevent bacterial infection of A. hydrophila in sangkuriang catfish and produced a prevalence rate 16.37% with the highest survival rate reached 91.67%, the growth weight 3.95 g and length 2.27 cm.
