Abstract

ABSTRACT       The addition of atractant in feed is expected could improve snakehead respond,andincreasing its growth. The Aims of this study are to knowfeed respond, the feed intake, growth, feed efficiency, and survival rate of snakehead fry given by feed with different various of atractant.This research was conducted on Jun-July 2016 at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan Program Study Budidaya Perairan, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research was using completely randomized designed with four treatments and three replications, consist offeed without attractants (P0), feed with 2% fish meal addition (P1), feed with 2% squid meal addition (P2), and feed with 2% shrimp meal addition (P3). Fish maintained for 30 days and fed four times a day (at 07.00, 11.00, 14.00 and 17.00) are at satiation. Parameters of this research are feed respond, the feed intake, growth, feed efficiency and survival rate of snakehead fry. The result showed that given of atractant effect to feed intake and absolute growth of weight (Channa striata) fry, yet did not give effect to snakehead respond significantly, for absolute growth of length, feed efficency and survival rate. The best treatment was P3 (feed with 2% shrimp meal addition) with feed intake was 17.19 g, absolute growth of weight was 0.52 g, absolute growth of length was 1.33 centimetre, survival rate was 73.33% and feed efficiency was 48.97%. Physical and chemical of media maintanace, temperature 25-28oC, pH was 6.35-6.96, DO was 5.05-5.96 mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.02-0.17 mg.L-1. Keywords        : Atractant, Channa striata, Growth and feed respond

Abstract

The thyroxine has been known as a hormone that can increase fish growth especially in the larvae stage. The provision of hormone thyroxine on larvae fish can be conducted through dipping. Determination of dipping time are very important to increase growth. The purposes of this research are determining the optimum dipping time for the growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae. This research was done at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The method used Competely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and three replicates, with dipping time are 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36 hours. The parameters observed are the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate of larvae and water quality (temperature, pH and disolved oxygen). The results showed that the duration of immersion in thyroxine hormone solution in snakehead larvae showed relatively faster growth on treatment (P5) with 36 hours of dipping time. While the regression test result showed the optimal growth of snakehead larvae at the time immersion for 27,92 – 29,49 hours. Thyroxine hormone increased the growth of snakehead larvae but has no statistically significant effect. The length of time of thyroxine hormone 24-36 hours with a dosage of 0.1 mg l-1 did not affect the survival of snakehead larvae. Water quality of maintenance media is still tolerance for supporting the growth and survival of snakehead larvae.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to know the effect of different temperatures on the percentage of climbing perch eggs hatching. This study has been done from October 2012 to November 2012 at Fish Breeding Unit “Batanghari Sembilan” Indralaya. The implementation of this study include selection of the brood, rearing of brood stock, injection ovaprim, spawning, hatching eggs, larval rearing. The results  indicate that the most rapid hatching time obtained in P4 treatment (34° C) with a incubation time 964 minutes. Optimal incubation temperature to produce the maximum hatching percentage was 98.66% at a temperature of 34 oC. Water quality of medium were 31-340C for temperature, pH  6,7-7,6 and disolved oxygen 3,3-3,8 mg.L-1. Keywords : temperature, hatching percentage hatching time, water quality.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this study is to know the best synthetic gonadotrophine hormon doses to stimulate the breeding of snakehead through observing the latent time, the number of eggs, and the percentage of fertilized eggs and the hatching percent of snakehead. This experiment was conducted in (UPR) Batanghari Sembilan in North Indralaya sub-district in Ogan Ilir regency on January until February 2015. The design of this study was completely randomized design which having three different treatments of different doses of hormone given. The doses treatments were P1 = 0.2 ml/kg fish, P2 = 0.4 ml/kg fish and P3 = 0.6 ml/kg fish with each male and female parent of fish was injected three treatment trhee times for each treatments. The result of this experiment showed that utilization of synthetic gonadotrophine hormone with different doses had significant different effect to hatching percentage did not significantly different (P<5%) to latent time, the amount of eggs, and fertilized eggs percentage of snakehead. In this experiment, the treatment P1 was the best terms of four parameters which were the latent time (27.70 hours), the amount of eggs (6,668 eggs), the fertilized eggs percentage (99.75 %), and hatching percentage (78.47 %). Futhermore, the value range of water quality during the experiment were temperature 28-320C, pH 3.7-7.0 and dissolved oxygen 3.08-5.76 ppm. Abstract

ABSTRACT Biofertilizer is a material derived from living organism, particularly microbes, which are used to improve the quality and quantity of growing media and plants. In this case is a liquid biofertilizer that is derived from living organism and refers to the results of microbiological processes. Fertilization activities in the field of fisheries is done to help the maintenance media as ground pond in providing nutrients directly to the fertility of the pond. One of the microbes that exist in liquid biofertilizer is Bacillus sp.. Bacillus sp. can maintain stable water quality by reducing excess amonia concentration on the media. This research was conducted in December 2014 to January 2015 at Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Program Studi Akuakultur,Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, Inderalaya. This research was conducted using CRD (completely randomized design) is seven treatments of biofertilizer additions with three replications. Based on observations during the research, concluded that the addition of biofertilizer did not significantly affect the viability of the seeds of catfish fry that needs to be done further research on the mechanism of action of biofertilizer is working to help the fertility of the soil or water of the pool maintenance media or to both. Abstract

ABSTRACT               Masculinization is a method of  sex reversal technique that can direct sexuality from female to male. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of coconut water on masculinization in guppy by immersion administration. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. After 12 days post spawning, female guppies were immersed for 8 hours.The concentrations were : 0%(P0), 20% (P1), and 40% (P2). The parameters were observed including percentage of male, survival rate and water quality (thermal, pH and kalium concentration). Baby guppies were reared until sex can be determined which were 42 days of culture. The result showed that the percentage of male guppy fish was 54.44% (P0), 77.78% (P1) and 90.00% (P2). The survival rate of  larval during maintenance was 100% for all treatments. Water quality during maintenance was 27.0-28.40C for temperature and 6.38-7.20 for pH. To sum up, this experiment proved that coconut water can be used for masculinization by immersed pregnant female broadstock and it produced 90% male when immersed with 40% of coconut water. Keywords : Coconut water, guppy (Poecilia reticulata), masculinization

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to know the influence of dipping time of pregnant guppy in 5 ml.L-1 of honey solution to masculinitation of guppy. The research was conducted on July until October 2012 at Fish Breeding Unit of Batanghari Sembilan Foundation, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. Research conducted using completely randomized design with four treatments of dipping namely P0 (0 hours), P1 (12 hours), P2 (14 hours), and P3 (16 hours) with three replications. The parameters observed were male percentage, survival rate, and water quality. The result of the current research showed that the dipping time of pregnant guppy in 5 ml.L-1 honey solution gave significant influence on male percentage of guppy larva. The percentages of male guppy from highest to lowest were P0 (69,26%), P1 (76,66%), P2 (52,23%), and P3 (40%). The dipping time of pregnant guppy in 5 ml.L-1 honey solution gave not significant influence on survival rate of guppy larva. Water quality is still in range appropriate to survival rate of guppy. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted at Technology Aquaculture Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, University of Riau. The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of water filter system that can improve water quality parameters in tilapia fish aquaculture. The research method was experiment with three treatments and three replications. Recirculation system using (P1) coral reef, graves, sand and fiber of palm tree, where a thickness of each filter material was 3 cm. While the recirculation system using aquaponic system (P2) using water spinach and P0 recirculation system using sponge. Treatment of P1 gave the best results of water quality, temperature 25-29 ° C, pH 5-7, DO 4.1-5.3 mg/L, CO2 5.40- 8.90 mg/L, ammonia (NH3) from 0.10- 0.60 mg/L, the average absolute growth rate of 4.50 g, the average length of 7.29 cm and survival rate 100 %. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and viability of the seeds fish of patin by probiotics in maintenance media. This study will be conducted at the Laboratory Wet Water Cultivation Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Palembang. This research was conducted using completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with four levels of treatment factors and three replications. The level of treatment given factor is P0 = Probiotics 0 ml/L, P1 = probiotics 1.5 ml/L, P2 = probiotics 3.0 ml/L, and P3 = probiotics 4.5 ml/L. The parameters observed both its length and weight growth and survival. The result showed that the growth of the seed weight and length best patin obtained on addition of probiotic treatment of 1.5 ml / L is a weight of 10.71 grams and a length of 5.06 cm. whereas the survival is highest in the addition of probiotic treatment of 1.5 ml / L reached 93.33%. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to know the influence of different shrimp farming technology on water quality (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate) and survival rate. The method that used in this research was experimental method. Retrieval of data was obtained from three locations of vaname shrimp farming in Tuban, East Java, were in Bancar, Bancar (biofloc technology), Tasikmadu, Palang (semi biofloc technology), and Keradenan, Palang (plankton technology). The main parameters were the value of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, while the supporting parameters were the water quality (temperature, pH, DO, salinity, and transparency), production, and survival rate. The results showed that average of ammonia value in biofloc, semi biofloc, and plankton ponds were 0,037 – 0,044 ppm; 0,011 – 0,015 ppm; and 0,023 – 0,026 ppm, respectively. The average of nitrite value in biofloc, semi biofloc, and plankton ponds were 0,128 – 0,0135 ppm; 0,075 – 0,112 ppm; dan 0,030 – 0,039 ppm, respectively. The average of nitrate value in biofloc, semi biofloc, and plankton ponds were 1,231 – 1,414 ppm; 0,667 – 0,704 ppm; dan 0,883 – 0,980 ppm, respectively. The water quality in each pond (biofloc, semi biofloc, and plankton) in which temperature (27 – 32oC), pH (6,5 – 8,2), DO (4,65 – 7,35 ppm), salinity (1 – 39 ppt), transparency (20 – 35 cm). The production of vaname shrimp in biofloc pond was 20,78 – 26,28 ton/ha; semi biofloc was 14,83 – 20,29 ton/ha; and plankton was 7,49 – 9,25 ton/ha. The average of survival rate in biofloc, semi biofloc, and plankton ponds were 82,74%; 72,92%; dan 80,62%, respectively. From this research we could summarized that farming technology influenced on water quality (ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate), and the biofloc technology gave the best influence on water quality furthermore would influence survival rate of vaname shrimp. Keywords: vaname shrimp, water quality, survival rate, biofloc
