Abstract

Flash flood was happened in Kemiri village Panti district Jember Regency on2006.Flash flood disaster caused 76 people died, majority of flash flood victims werechildren. After flash flood, there were some programs about mitigation flash flooddisaster that hold by Non Government Organitation. But those programs didn’t be inlong term, so society can’t understand more about mitigation flash flood disaster. Theaim of this research was to analyze the influence of film playback “Flash Flood Wary”toward mitigation of flash flood disaster for students in 4th and 5th class of MIBustanul Ulum Kemiri village, Panti district. This research used quantitative methodand research design was pre experimental design. Sample of this research were 32students. Statistic was used Paired Sample T-Test. Data analysis showed that therewas not significant influence of film playback “Flash Flood Wary” in increasingknowledge of flash flood disaster mitigation. Significant result was showed ininfluence of film playback “Flash Flood Wary” to increase attitude of flash flooddisaster mitigation with p=0,000. Abstract

Adhesion process of Porphyromonas gingivalis on neutrophils significantly play a role in the onset of periodontal infection. Papaya leaves contain several active substances that might impact to bacterial adhesion. This study was aimed to determine inhibition potency of papaya leaf extract (PLE) to adhesion of Porphyromonas gingivalis to neutrophils and at different concentration. This was an experimental laboratories in vitro study on neutrophils cells from peripheral blood. Samples divided into 5 group: group I/control (without PLE), group II (PLE 25%), group III (PLE 50 %), group IV (PLE 75%), and group V (PLE 100%). Isolated neutrofil was incubated by PLE in 3 hours, then incubated to the P. gingivalis in 2.5 hours. The index of adhesion was determined by calculating average number of P. gingivalis on 100 neutrophils. The result found that inhibition potency of PLE was significantly different to all groups. The conclusion was PLE inhibited P. gingivalis adhesion on neutrophils; and there were differences of inhibition potency of bacterial adhesion of P. gingivalis bacteria among PLE at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% concentration, which higher concentration had higher inhibition effect.   Keywords: adhesion, neutrophils, papaya leaf, Porphyromonas gingivalis

Abstract

Umbilical cord care is a treatment of newborn baby’s umbilical cord started when umbilical cord was cut off or dried up. A well took umbilical cord care allow baby to heal faster. Umbilical Cord Care Training (UCCT) by simulation method aims to provide skill in performing umbilical cord care of primigravida in preventing infections and tetanus neonatorum. This research was intended to analyze the influence of UCCT to umbilical cord caring skill of 2nd and 3rd trimester primigravida. This was a quasy experimental study with non-randomized control group and pretest-posttest design. The samples were 32 primigravide picked out by multistage random sampling and divided into two groups. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon match pair test and Mann Whitney U test with 95% of CI. The result showed p value of Wilcoxon match pair test in experimental group was 0,000 and 1,000 in control group, while by Mann Whitney obtained p value of 0,000 (a=0,05). It can be concluded that there was an influence of UCCT to primigravida’s skill in performing umbilical cord care. Hereby, suggested to nurses to give UCCT by simulation method at maternal and child health center to prepare primigravida on caring newborn baby to prevent infections and tetanus   Keywords: umbilical cord care training, simulation method, skill

Abstract

Gelatin is widely used in some food products as gelling agent, including jelly soft candy. Most of commercial gelatin is derived from pork skin. Islam prohibits their followers to consume any food products containing pig derivates, including porcine gelatin. Therefore, it is necessary to develop some rapid and reliable methods for detection of porcine gelatin in jelly soft candy. FTIR method combined with chemometrics were chosen because it is rapid, easy and reliable. The purpose of this study was to classify of porcine gelatin in jelly soft candy using FTIR method combined with multivariate statistical methods (chemometrics). The classification method of chemometrics used to test porcine gelatin in commercial product of jelly soft candy was succesful and also in a good assessment with Xematest Pork. Abstract

Cinnamon contains natural antioxidant polyphenols. Polyphenols reduces lipid peroxidation by lowering levels of MDA. This study aimed to prove the effect of ethanolic extract of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii) on decreasing kidney MDA levels of rat. This research was true experimental post-test only control group design. Twenty five rats 2-3 months of age, were divided into 5 groups: K(-) without alloxan induction, K(+) was induced with alloxan 100 mg/kg, group P1, P2, and P3 were induced with alloxan 100 mg/kg and cinnamon ethanolic extract 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg and 600 mg/kg, respectively for 7 days. At the end of the treatment, MDA concentration of kidney was measured by using ELISA method. The average of kidney MDA level were K(-), K(+), P1, P2, and P3 grups were 1.8923 ng/g, 1.8926 ng/g, 1.8926 ng/g, 1.8925 ng/g, and 1.8926 ng/g, respectively. Data was analysed using One Way ANOVA, and resulted p = 0.238. The conclusion was cinnamon ethanolic extract could not reduce kidney MDA levels in hyperglycemic wistar rat induced with alloxan. Abstract

Obstetric and neonatal services of Health Social Security Administering Bodies (BPJSKesehatan) is effort to ensure and protect the process of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum,postpartum hemorrhage treatment of miscarriage, and birth control services afterpostpartum in first-level health facilities. Obstetric and neonatal care costs at first-levelhealth facilities can be claimed on BPJS Kesehatan, but on the implementation of deliveryclaims submission made by the first-level health facilities to BPJS Kesehatan delayed filingclaims and many files are incomplete. The research objective is to create a model ofdelivery claims information system. This study used research and development method,prototype is used for the design of information systems which the stage consists of datacollection to determine the need for data and information through in-depth interviews withmidwives, Sumbersari health center, Jember District Health Office, and BPJS KesehatanJember Branch Office, then followed with the information system design and validationstage of the delivery claim information system. Output produced were flowchart, contextdiagram, data flow diagram and entity relationship diagram of delivery claims informationsystem.Keywords: information system, delivery claims

Abstract

Meloxicam is Non Steroid Inflammation Drugs (NSAID) that inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Meloxicam has poor solubility in water. The drug that has poor solubility, need to be modified to increase the solubility. The technique that can increase the solubility is liquisolid technique. The research aim was to develop tablet formulation of meloxicam by increasing the solubility using liquisolid method. This liquisolid tablet used combination of propylene glycol and glycerin as nonvolatile solvent to increase meloxicam release. The liquisolid tablets were evaluated for physical chemical characteristics e.g. homogeneity level, drug content uniformity, friability, hardness, disintegration time and in vitro drug release. Optimization composition of propylene glycol and glycerin used simplex lattice design method with nonvolatile solvent as a factor and dissolution efficiency (DE60) as response. The use of propylene glycol and glycerin will increase drug release. Optimum composition of propylene glycol and glycerin resulting optimum dissolution efficiency (DE60) between 78,88 – 88,48 % was propylene glycol with concentration of 0-15 mg and glycerin with concentration of 0-15 mg in 300 mg of tablet. Abstract

Stress is the body response toward any kind of stressors that can lead to physiological changes in body systems. When it’s stresses, it will secretes stress hormones, such as cortisol, which can lead to elevate gluconeogenesis in liver. The cortisol blood levels increase much greater in rats exposed to 28 days stressors. It will force liver cells to perform continuous gluconeogenesis. These can cause damage to liver cells that can be characterized by increased levels of SGPT (Serum Glutamic Pyruvic transaminase). The aim of the study was to determine the differences in SGPT levels between male Wistar rats that were exposed by electrical foot shock stressors for 28 days and control rats. This was an experimental laboratory with post -test only with control group design, with sixteen rats were divided into two groups; control group and treatment group. The treatment group were exposed by electrical foot shock stressor for 28 days. On 28th day, serum samples were taken for examination of SGPT levels in both samples by kinetic methods . The results of T-test showed that there was no difference in SGPT levels between treatment and control groups. Keywords: electrical foot shock, serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase level.

Abstract

Airway obstruction is an important physiological disease in asthma clients that will inhibits the flow of air during inspiration and expiration, so that lung ventilation is not optimal. This situation makes clients lose base ability to reach normal airflow during breathing, especially when expiratory, which leads to reduction in peak expiratory flow. Non-pharmacological therapies can be used as a supplementary or complementary pharmacological therapy, one of which is progressive muscle relaxation. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on peak expiratory flow of clients with bronchial asthma. Respondents in this research were 11 people. Data analysis used dependent t-test with CI 95% (α=0,05). The results of data analysis showed the results of p value = 0,000 (p<0,05). The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant effect of progressive muscle relaxation on peak expiratory flow of clients with bronchial asthma. This research is expected to be applied and administered in health care, especially in the rehabilitation of clients with asthma to improve respiratory function optimally.   Keywords: progressive muscle relaxation, asthma, peak expiratory flow

Abstract

Inulin is a polymer which have many benefits for health and used widely for food. The absence of research on determination of inulin content in dahlia tuber extract from different species, made this study very important to do. The purpose of this study was to determine the inulin content in dahlia tuber extract from different species. So it can be known the most effective type of dahlia to be the major source of inulin production. The method used in this study was TLC densitometry. The result showed that the inulin content in Dahlia variabilis tuber extract was 73.93 ± 1.209%, and the inulin content in Dahlia pinnata tuber extract was 66.76 ± 0.572%. The inulin content in Dahlia variabilis and Dahlia pinnata tuber extract were significantly different. Keywords: inulin, dahlia tuber, Dahlia variabilis, Dahlia pinnata, TLC densitometry
