Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengindentifikasi dan analisis bentuk-bentuk linguistics, arti dan fungsi jargon yang digunakan oleh petugas front officers di bagian front office Lovina Beach Hotel. Dalam menganalisis jargon didukung oleh theory Allan&Burridge(2006), theory yule (2006), dan theory chaer and Agustina’s (2010). Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif. Penelitian pada jargon diteliti berdasasrkan bentuk pembicaraan dan bentuk tulisan. Penelitin ini dilaksanakan di Lovina Beach Hotel yang beralamat Desa Kalibubuk-Kecamatan Buleleng-Kabupaten Buleleng. Subject penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah Front officers di Front Office, hotel Lovina Beach Hotel. Object penilitian ini adalah jargon yang digunakan dalam proses komunikasi dan interaksi antara orang-orang dengan kelompok, orang-orang dengan orang lain, kelompok dengan kelompok di Front Office. Dalam penilitian ini ditemukan berbagai bentuk jargon seperti phrasa (2 or 1,9 %), Singkatan (30 or 28%), Kata-kata (45 or 42 %), Pemendekan ( 19 or 10,9%), Peminjaman (2 or 1,9 %), Pengabungan (2 or 1,9%) and Akronym (5 or 4,7%). Dalam istilah arti jargon bahwa terdapat sebanyak 105 arti jargon. Berdasarkan teori Allan dan Burridge (2006, p.58) jargon memiliki dua fungsi pertama (1) jargon untuk menyajikan sebagai teknis atau spesialis bahasa untuk berkomunikasi yang tepat dan effisiensi dalam berkomunikasi (51, 54 %). Kedua (2) jargon sebagai bentuk memajukan bahasa dalam kelompok solidaritas dan diluar dari kelompok solidaritas kepada orang-orang yang tidak menggunakan jargon (51, 48%).Kata Kunci : jargon, front office department, lovina beach hotel. This study aimed at identify and analyze the the linguistics forms, the meanings and the function of jargon used by front officers of the front office department at Lovina Beach Hotel. The analysing of jargon was supported by Allan&Burridge (2006) theory,Yule’s (2006) theory and Chaer & Agustina’s (2010) theory. This study was conducted in a qualitative research design. The jargons was investigated based on spoken and written form. This study was conducted at Lovina Beach Hotel and located in Kalibubuk Village Buleleng Subdistrict- Buleleng Regency.The subjects of the study were receptionists at the front office department of Lovina Beach Hotel.The object of this research was jargon used in the process of communicating and interacting people with groups, people with people and group with group in front office department. This study found the types of jargon in form of phrases (2 or 1,9 %), abbreviation (30 or 28%), words (45 or 42 %), clipping ( 19 or 10,9%), borrowing (2 or 1,9 %), compounding (2 or 1,9%) and acronym (5 or 4,7%). Terms of the meaning, there were 105 jargons meaning. According to Allan and Burridge (2006, p.58) jargon has two functions, as follows.Firstly, to serve as a technical or specialist language for precise and economical communication (51, 54 %).Secondly,to promote in-group solidarity, and to exclude as out-groupers, the people who do not use the jargon (51, 48%)keyword : Keyword : jargon, front office department, lovina beach hotel.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi kesiapan E-learning guru terhadap implementasi E-learning dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di empat sekolah negeri di Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan explanatory sequential design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah 21 Guru di SMA N 1 Singaraja, SMA N 2 Singaraja, SMA N 3 Singaraja, and SMA N 4 Singaraja. Jumlah sampel dalam peneltitian adalah 20 guru Bahasa Inggri. Pengumpulan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner E-learning (ERQ) dan wawancara. Kuesioner tersebut diadaptasi oleh teori kesiapan E-learning dari Akaslan dan Law, data yang diperoleh dialalisis menggunakan SPSS 24.0, dan hasilnya diinterpretasikan dengan menggunakan metode penilaian kesiapan E-learning dari Aydin dan Tasci. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kesiapan guru Bahasa Inggris secara keseluruhan adalah 3.99 dari 5.00. Sedangkan, level terendah kesiapan yang diharapkan adalah 3.40. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa guru Bahasa Inggris sudah siap terhadap pengaplikasian E-leaning, namun membutuhkan beberapa penyempurnaan. Dilihat dari hasil sub-komponen kesiapan E-learning guru, skor rata-rata tertinggi yaitu mengenai pengalaman guru terhadap penggunaan teknologi, yakni sebesar 4.50. sedangkan skor rata-rata terendah guru adalah persepsi mereka terhadap kemudahan penggunaan smartphone, yakni sebesar 3.30. Kemudian, wawancara tersebut digunakan untuk mendukung data yang telah diperoleh dari kuesioner.Kata Kunci : E-learning, kesiapan E-learning, kesiapan guru This research aimed to investigate the teachers’ E-learning readiness toward the implementation of E-learning in English subject in public senior high schools. To achieve the air, the researcher used explanatory sequential design. The population were 21 teachers of SMA N 1 Singaraja, SMA N 2 Singaraja, SMA N 3 Singaraja, and SMA N 4 Singaraja. 20 English teachers were selected as the sample to gain quantitative data of this research. The data collection was gained quantitatively through E-learning readiness questionnaire (ERQ) and qualitatively through interview. The questionnaire was adapted from the E-learning readiness theory proposed by Akaslan and Law, the data gained was analyzed by using SPSS 24.0, and the result of the data analysis was interpreted by using E-learning readiness assessment model by Aydin and Tasci. The result of the questionnaire shows that the grand mean score of the English teachers’ readiness is 3.99 out of 5.00. Whereas, the expected level of readiness (Mo) is 3.40. It implies that the English teachers are ready, but need few improvements in the E-learning implementation. Seen from the sub-components of the teachers’ E-learning readiness, the highest mean score of the teachers is about the experience toward the use of technology (4.50). Meanwhile, the lowest mean score of the teachers is on the perceived ease of use of the smartphone (3.30). Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan karakteristik pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 oleh siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja dan mengidentifikasi kendala dalam menerapkan pembelajaran aktif siswa kelas X pada pembelajaran menulis di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas dan wawancara. Data dianalisis berdasarkan respon siswa saat pembelajaran sedang berlangsung di kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X dan objek penelitian ini adalah respon siswa. (1) Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada lima karakteristik pembelajaran aktif yang diajukan oleh Bonwell dan Eison (1991) yang diimplementasikan dalam X.MIPA 3 yaitu: siswa dilibatkan dalam lebih dari sekedar mendengarkan pasif, siswa terlibat dalam kegiatan (mis. , membaca, mendiskusikan, berbicara dan menulis), ada penekanan lebih besar pada eksplorasi sikap dan nilai, motivasi siswa meningkat (terutama untuk pelajar dewasa) dan Siswa dilibatkan dalam pemikiran tingkat tinggi (analisis, sintesis, dan evaluasi). (2) Kendala yang ditemukan dalam menerapkan pembelajaran aktif adalah waktu yang terbatas, media yang digunakan oleh guru dan manajemen kelas.Kata Kunci : Kurikulum 2013, pembelajaran aktif, karateristik pembelajaran aktif dan kendala The objectives of this study were analyzing of the implementation of learning characteristics based on Curriculum 2013 by the tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja and identifying the constraints in implementing the students’ active learning by the tenth grade students in writing classes at SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja. This study was descriptive qualitative. The data were collected through doing classroom observation and interview. The data were analyzed based on the students’ responses when the teaching and learning process were running in the classroom. The subjects were the tenth grade students and the objects of this study were students’ responses. (1) The result of this study shows that there were five characteristics of active learning which proposed by Bonwell and Eison (1991) implemented in X.MIPA 3 namely:students are involved in more than passive listening, students are engaged in activities (e.g., reading, discussing, speaking and writing), there is greater emphasis placed on the exploration of attitudes and values, student motivation is increased (especially for adult learners) and Students are involved in higher order thinking (analysis, synthesis, and evaluation). (2) The constraints which were found in implementing students’ active learning were the limited time, the media used by the teacher and classroom management.keyword : Curriculum 2013, active learning, active learning characteristics and constraints

Abstract

Thanking acts are always used by the students at school. They are used for showing respect, building relationship and acknowledging the favor. However, the students do not know and understand about the appropriate sentence styles (forms) and the strategies of thanking acts. This study aimed at describing locutionary thanking acts, perlocutionary thanking acts, and strategies of thanking acts. The problems were focused on the locutionary acts (the verbal literal meanings of what are said) and perlocutionary acts (the responses to what are said). The research used a descriptive qualitative design. The subjects were EFL senior high school students from language and culture department. The data were collected through observing simulated role play speech encounters. The data were analyzed descriptively following the steps of identifying locutionary acts and perlocutionary acts, classifying them and drawing the conclusion. The results showed that most of the students employed informal forms as their locutionary thanking acts and formal-informal forms as their perlocutionary thanking acts. Also, the students mostly used explicit-emotional thanking as the strategy of their locutionary thanking acts and acceptance strategy as the perlocutionary thanking acts. This research was limited to the use of a role play under five situations.keyword : EFL students, speech acts, thanking acts forms, thanking acts strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kata-kata umpatan yang digunakan oleh remaja di Nusa Penida. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan mengamati, merekam audio, dan mewawancarai para informan. Informan adalah 16 remaja yang berasal dari Nusa Penida. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata-kata umpatan yang digunakan oleh remaja di Nusa Penida memiliki bentuk, referensi, dan fungsi. Terdapat tiga bentuk kata-kata makian: (1) dalam bentuk kata yang dibagi menjadi dua jenis: monomorfemis (yaitu ‘klewaran’ leluhur) dan polimorfemik (yaitu ‘polo’ otak); (2) dalam bentuk frasa yang dibagi menjadi tiga jenis: frasa nomina (yaitu ‘bojog tone’ monyet itu), frasa kata kerja (yaitu ‘mantet duang’ selalu makan), dan frasa kata sifat (yaitu ‘belog san’ sangat bodoh); (3) dalam bentuk klausa (yaitu ‘lotog ide’ bodoh kamu). Referensi kata-kata makian berhubungan dengan (a) agama, (b) fungsi tubuh, (c) kotoran, (d) istilah binatang, (e) aktivitas, (f) latar belakang pribadi, (g) penyakit mental, (h) iblis, dan (i) kekeluargaan. Fungsi kata-kata umpatan adalah (a) untuk menarik perhatian, (b) memprovokasi, (c) untuk menciptakan identifikasi perseorangan, (d) mengekspresikan emosi , (e) integratif, (f) menyerang, (g) regresif, dan (h) penekanan.Kata Kunci : bentuk, fungsi, referensi, kata-kata umpatan. This study aimed at analyzing swear words used by the teenagers in Nusa Penida. This study used descriptive qualitative research which was conducted by observing, audio recording, and interview guiding the informants. The informants were 16 teenagers from Nusa Penida. The results of the study showed that the swear words used by the teenagers in Nusa Penida have their forms, references, and functions. There are three forms of swear words: (1) in the form of words that are devided into two types: monomorphemic (i.e. klewaran ‘ancestor’) and polymorphemic (i.e polone ‘brain’); (2) in the form of phrases that are divided into three types: noun phrases (i.e bojog tone ‘that monkey’), verb phrases (i.e. mantet duang ‘always eat’), and adjective phrases (i.e. belog san ‘very stupid’); (3) in the form of clauses (i.e.lotog ide ‘you are stupid’).The references of swear words are related to (a) religion, (b) body function, (c) excrement, (d) animal term, (e) activity, (f) personal background, (g) mental illness, (h) devil, and (i) kinship. The functions of swear words are (a) to draw attention, (b) to provoke, (c) to create interpersonal identification, (d) express emotion, (e) integrative, (f) aggresive, (g) regressive, and (h) emphasis.keyword : forms, functions, references, swear words.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti adanya pengaruh Collaborative writing strategy yang dibantu dengan Fanfiction terhadap kompetensi menulis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI dan sampel dari penelitian ini adalah 40 siswa kelas XI di SMAN 1 Sukasada yang dipilih sebagai sampel melalui teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini didesain dengan menggunakan desain posttest only control group. Perlakuan diberikan selama 6 kali pertemuan. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah analytical scoring rubric. Posttest diberikan kepada siswa di akhir pertemuan untuk mengumpulkan data kompetensi menulis siswa. Hasil dari posttest dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen menunjukkan kompetensi menulis yang lebih baik daripada kelompok kontrol. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa collaborative writing strategy yang dibantu dengan fanfiction efektif digunakan untuk mengajar menulis, khusunya menulis naratif. Diharapkan bahwa guru dapat mengimplementasikan strategi ini dalam mengajar menulis narratif.Kata Kunci : Collaborative Writing Strategy, Fanfiction, Kompetensi Menulis This study aimed at investigating the effect of collaborative writing strategy assisted with fanfiction towards students’ writing competency. The population of this study were the eleventh grade students and the sample were 40 eleventh grade students of SMAN 1 Sukasada which were selected as the sample through random sampling technique. The research was designed by using post-test only control group design. The treatment was given for 6 times of meeting. The instrument of this study was analytical scoring rubric. A posttest was given to the students at the end of meeting to collect the data of the students’ writing competency. The result of post-test was analyzed descriptively and inferentially by using t-test. The result of this study showed that experimental group performed better competency in writing rather than the control group. So, it can be concluded that collaborative writing strategy assisted with fanfiction is effective to be used to teach writing, especially writing narrative. It is suggested that teachers can implement this strategy in teaching narrative writing. keyword : Collaborative Writing, Fanfiction, Writing Competency

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman bacaan siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan buku besar dan mereka yang diajar oleh media konvensional. Rancangan penelitian penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Study. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. Dua kelas digunakan sebagai sampel penelitian ini. Mereka ditugaskan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan undian. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa, skor rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 83,56 sedangkan skor rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 76,19. Hasil uji-t juga menunjukkan bahwa t-diamati melebihi nilai t-kritis (4,088> 2,042). Dengan demikian, hipotesis nol ditolak, artinya ada pengaruh signifikan dari buku besar sebagai media pembacaan bacaan siswa kelas IV SD SD Undiksha Singaraja.Kata Kunci : Big Book, Pemahaman membaca, Pelajar Pemula This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was any significant effect on students’ reading comprehension who were taught by using big book and those who were taught by conventional media. The research design of this study was Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Study. The population of this study was fourth grade students of SD Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja. Two classes were used as the sample of this study. They were assigned as experimental group and control group by lottery. The obtained data were then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. From the results, it can be seen that, the mean score of the experimental group was 83.56 while the mean score of the control group was 76.19. The result of the t-test also showed that the t-observed exceeded the t-critical value ( 4.088 > 2.042 ). Thus, the null hypohesis was rejected, which means that there was significant effect of big book as a media on students’ reading comprehension at fourth grade of elementary school in SD Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja.keyword : Big Book, Reading comprehension, Young learners

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari permainan interatif berbasis ICT terhadap motivasi prestasi, prestasi Bahasa Inggris, dan secara simultan terhadap motivasi prestasi dan prestasi Bahasa Inggris siswa. Penelitian experimental ini mengambil 174 siswa sekolah dasar sebagai populasi di gugus 4 kecamatan Sukasada, Kabupaten Buleleng Tahun Akademik 2016/2017, dimana 44 siswa yang melibatkan 22 siswa dari SD Negeri 3 Sukasada menjadi kelompok kontrol dan 22 siswa dari SD Negeri 4 Sukasada sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Mereka dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian melalui teknik random sampling. Data telah dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner motivasi prestasi dan post-test. Data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA dan MANOVA satu jalur dengan SPSS 22.0. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pertama, siswa yang diajarkan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT memiliki motivasi prestasi yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan teknik konvensional, kedua, siswa yang diajarkan permainan interaktif berbasis ICT memiliki prestasi Bahasa Inggris yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan teknik konvensional, ketiga terdapat pengaruh simultan dari permainan interaktif berbasis ICT terhadap motivasi prestasi dan prestasi Bahasa Inggris siswa.Kata Kunci : Motivasi Prestasi, Permainan Interaktif Berbasis ICT, Prestasi Bahasa Inggris, pelajar pemula This research purposed to investigate whether or not there was a significant effect on the use of ICT based interactive game on students’ achievement motivation and English achievement of the 6th grade of primary school. This quasi-experimental research implemented post-test only control group design. The population of this research was all the 6th grade of primary school in cluster 4 in Sukasada district. This research administered cluster random sampling to determine the sample of this research. As the result of administering cluster random sampling, the sample of this study was 22 students of 6th grade students in SD Negeri 3 Sukasada as the experimental group and 22 students of 6th grade in SD Negeri 4 Sukasada as the control group. The data were gathered by achievement motivation questionnaire and a post-test for both group. Then the data were analyzed by using one-way ANOVA and MANOVA assisted by SPSS 22.0. The findings show that, first, the students who were taught by ICT-based interactive game achieved better achievement motivation than those who were taught by conventional teaching, second, the students who were taught by ICT-based interactive game achieved better English achievement than those who were taught by conventional teaching, and third, the was a simultaneous effect of ICT-based interactive game on students’ achievement motivation and English achievement.keyword : ICT-based interactive game, achievement motivation, English achievement, young learners

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan bahasa kasar, Amerika dan Bali. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif yang mana dilaksanakan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, dan metode introspektif. Subyek penelitian ini adalah orang Bali asli dan film Amerika. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan persamaan bahasa kasar Amerika dan Bali dilihat dari bentuk, referensi, dan fungsinya. Terdapat tiga bentuk dari bahasa kasar: (1) dalam bentuk kata, yang mana juga terbagi menjadi dua: monomorfemik {Bahasa Bali (pirate, pletan, dll), Bahasa Amerika (dick, pussy, cock, dll)} dan polimorfemik {Bahasa Bali (matan, polone, dll.), Amerika(fucker, fucking, dll.)}, (2) dalam bentuk frasa {Bahasa Bali (ndas teli, lengeh buah dll.), Amerika (fucking crazy, shut up, dll.)}, (3) dalam bentuk klausa {Bahasa Bali(lengeh ti cai, gebuh bungut nannie, dll.), Amerika (what the hell it is, fuck your mouth, dll.)}. Referensi dari bahasa kasar mengacu kepada: (1)agama, (2)jenis kelamin, (3)kotoran, (4)hewan, (5)latar belakang personal, (6) penyakit kejiwaan, dan (7) aktifitas sex. Fungsi dari bahasa kasar tersebut adalah : (1) untuk menarik perhatian, (2) untuk menyampaikan kekesalan/stress, (3) untuk memprovokasi, (4) untuk membentuk identitas interpersonal, (5) integrative, (6) agresif, (7) regresif, dan (8) penekanan. Perbedaanya dari bahasa kasar Amerika dan bahasa Kasar Bali sangat jelas terlihat, bahasa kasar Bali hanya digunakan oleh orang Bali, begitu juga sebaliknya. Kata Kunci : bahasa kasar, bentuk, fungsi, referensi This study aimed in comparing swearwords, Balinese with American. The design of this research was a descriptive research, observing, and introspective method. The subjects of this study were original Balinese and American movie. The results of the study show that the similarities of the Balinese and American swearwords can be seen by their forms, references, and functions. There are three forms of swearwords: (1) in the form of word, which also are subdivided into two: monomorphemic {Balinese (pirate ‘ancestor’, pletan ‘male genital’ etc.), American (dick, pussy, cock, etc)}, and polymorphemic {Balinese (matan ‘eyes’, polone ‘brain’, etc.), American (fucker, fucking, etc.)}, (2) in the form of phrases {Balinese (ndas teli ‘female genital’, lengeh buah ‘so crazy’, etc.), American (fucking crazy, shut up, etc.)}, (3) in the form of clauses {Balinese (lengeh ti cai ‘ you are so crazy’, gebuh bungut nanine ‘you are a liar’, etc.), American (what the hell it is, fuck your mouth, etc.)}. The references of the swearwords were related to: (1) religion, (2) sex, (3) excrement, (4) animals, (5) personal background, (6) mental illness, (7) sex activity. The functions of those swearwords were: (1) to draw attention, (2) to provide catharsis, (3) to provoke, (4) to create interpersonal identity, (5) integrative, (6) aggressive, (7) regressive, and (8) emphasis. The differences of the American and Balinese swearwords are clearly seen; Balinese swearwords are only used by Balinese, vice versa.keyword : swearwords, forms, functions, references

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang didasari oleh model penelitian dan pengembangan yang digagas oleh Borg dan Gall (2003). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah tes akhir prestasi belajar siswa kelas 11 dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, terutama dalam pemahaman membaca, yang standar berdasarkan kurikulum 2013. Subyek dari penelitian ini ialah para siswa di kelas XII MIA 2 di SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja di Kabupaten Buleleng dan para siswa di kelas XII MIA 1 di SMA Negeri 1 Bangli di Kabupaten Bangli. Obyek dari penelitian ini adalah 100 soal yang berbentuk soal pilihan ganda yang diteskan kepada para siswa di kedua sekolah tersebut. Adapun langkah-langkah yang diterapkan dalam pengembangan tes ini, yaitu (1) penelitian dan pengumpulan informasi, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan produk awal, (4) uji coba awal sebelum diteskan kepada siswa, (5) perbaikan dari produk awal, (6) uji coba dengan melibatkan siswa, (7) perbaikan dari produk awal menjadi produk akhir. Soal-soal diteskan di kedua kelas tersebut dan hasil dari tes dianalisa dengan menggunakan program Anatest 4.0 mengenai validasi, reliabilitas, daya pembeda, tingkat kesukaran, homogenitas dan kualitas daya pengecoh dari jawaban soal. Hasil dari penelitian ini merupakan buku bank soal yang mana dari 100 soal terdapat 73 soal yang dikategorikan sebagai soal yang valid dan standar di Kabupaten Bangli dan Kabupaten Buleleng.Kata Kunci : Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D), pemahaman membaca, tes standar, validitas dan reliabilitas This research is a research and development (R&D) following the R&D model proposed by Borg and Gall (2003). This research aimed at developing a Standard English Language final achievement test, specifically about the reading comprehension, for eleventh grade students based on curriculum 2013. The subject of this study were the students of Class XII MIA 2 in SMA Negeri 2 Singaraja in Buleleng Regency and the students of Class XII MIA 1 in SMA Negeri 1 Bangli in Bangli Regency. The object of the study was 100 test items in form of multiple-choice test that were tested to the students in the two schools. The steps taken to develop the test were (1) research and information collection, (2) planning, (3) develop preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, and (7) operational product revision. The test items were tried-out in the two classes and the results were analyzed by using Anatest 4.0 version application in term of validity, reliability, index of discrimination, index of faculty, homogeneity and the quality of distractor. The result of the study was the final product of test in form of bank question book where from 100 items, there was 73 items considered as valid and standard in both Bangli and Buleleng Regency.keyword : Research and development (R&D), reading comprehension, standard test, validity and reliability
