This research aimed to the test effectiveness and the dosage biocompost "Trichosubur Protect" effect on the growth of the onion plants (Allium ascalonicumL.).This research was conducted at November 2015 until March 2016, located at hotusbotanicus in Tadulako University. This research  was designed in a Completely Randomized Design, consisting of six treatment and three times replications. With these following treatment arrange; P0 (without given biocompost "Trichosubur Protect"), P1 (10g biocompost "Trichosubur Protect"), P2 (20g), P3 (30g), P4 (40g) and P5 (2g NPK fertilizer).  The research showed that P4 treatment  the best onion plants growth comparative with the  P0, P1, P2 and P3 treatment. P4 treatment showed the number of tubers was 7.66, biomass weight at harvest 4.43g, leaf weight at harvest 4.25g tuber, weight at harvest 15.12g, hand root weight at harvest 0.13g, nevertheless it is lower than P5 treatment. Keywords : Biocompost "Trichosubur Protect", Onion (Allium ascalonicumL.), Trichoderma sp..

Abstract

The tomato fruit is the klimaterik fruit easily broken after harvested. One of the post harvest handling technology that can be applied on tomato fruit, namely edible starch taro-based coating. This research aims to know the best taro starch concentration can be used as upholstery materials (edible coating) in the handling of post harvest of tomatoes based on its chemical and physical characteristics. This research was carried out in January to April 2016, in the Laboratory of Industrial agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako, Palu, Central Sulawesi. Research design used was complete randomized design (CRD). This research using the method of immersion (dipping) on tomato fruit coating by using 5 starch concentration of taro treatments are: 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7% and it repeated twice. The results showed that the concentrations of taro starch is best for coating edible materials (coatings) in post-harvest handling tomato fruit is of 1-3%. As for the physical characteristics of tomato fruit is relatively the same red color is determined visually and smoothly (0,31 mm -0,32/g/s), while the chemical characteristics of tomato fruit including moisture content (93,32-94,61%), vitamin C (10,12-11,30 mg/100 g), sugar levels (1,51-1,54%) and respiratory rate (0,24-0,29 mg CO2/kg/hour). Keywords : Edible Coating, Taro Starch, Tomatoes.

Abstract

Red onion (Allium azscalonicum L.) is a kind of Horticultural commodity that has big opportunity in the sector of Agribusiness. This research aimed to determine of the diversity and evenness of Arthropod that are distributed under different planting patterns. This research started on April until July 2016, located in Sidera, Sigi Biromaru Sub district, Sigi Biromaru Regency, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this research was an absolute method (a unit sample used was an area size of 1m x 4m within which observations to all individual Arthropod were done systematically) and the nisbi method (Pitfall, Sweep, and Yellowtraps were used). The planting pattern simple mented in this research were red onion – red onion, red onion – chili, and red in the planting pattern of red onion – beans. The diversity of Arthropod on the different planting patterns and the planting pattern of red onion – chili and red onion – beans was classified as medium category with the production of red onion was 3.49 ton/ha. Keywords : Arthropoda, Diversity, Onion, Planting Patterns.

Abstract

Red onion (Allium ascolanicum L.) is one of the leading vegetable commodities that farmers have long been cultivated intensively. The low productivity of onion due to cultivation techniques conducted at the field level is not adequate, and the use of NPK inorganic fertilizers is still diverse. One alternative that can be done to improve the growth and yield of onion is the choose of the right type of NPK fertilizer. This study aims to obtain a proper dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of onion crops. This research was conducted in Sidera village, Biromaru sub district, Sigi regency, Central Sulawesi province, This research used Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 5 treatment levels: P0 = control, P1 = 75 kg.ha-1 of NPK fertilizer, P2 = 150 kg.ha-1 NPK fertilizer, of P3 = 225 kg.ha- 1 of NPK fertilizer, and P4 = 300 kg.ha-1 of NPK fertilizer. All treatments were repeated 4 (four) times, so overall there were 20 experimental units. The results showed that the dosage of NPK fertilizer of 300 kg.ha-1 had a significant effect (the best) on the growth and the yield of onion crop that indicated by the average plant height of 33.10 cm, average number of leaves of 22,50 strands, total dry weight of 6.02 g, total tuber per hill of 6.13 fruit, tuber weight per hill of 25.48 g, and tuber yield per hectare of 12,06 ton.ha-1 . Keywords: Onion, NPK Fertilizer.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the optimum concentration of Pod Husk Cacao extraction by wet method using different Sodium Hydroxides (NaOH) concentrations. The researsh used Simple Complete Random Design with one factor which consists of five levels of treatment : 0.5 M ; 1 M ; 1.5 M ; 2.0 M and 2.5 M, the treatments were replicated 4 times so there were 20 experimental units. If the treatment has significant effect then it tested using Tukey’s Honestly Significant Different level 5% or 1%. The results showed that the most optimum extraction was obtained using NaOH 1.59 M, which the number of rendement was 11,15%,  methoxil content was 50.22 %, galacturonat content was 46.62%, and pectin purity was 9.19%. Pectin of pod husk cocoa could be extracted using NaOH concentration between 1 – 2 M with wet method. Key Words:, Concentration of Natrium hydroxides, Pectin, Pod husk cacao, Wet method

Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of light trap intensity on the population density and intensity of S. Innotata attack. This research was conducted using the method of observation, with two light trap type of LED with a power of 5 watts and 10 watts, each light trap placed between two observed plots. Observation plots were observed in this study were four plots with the size of 30x20,5m. In each sectional observation was made by 5 measuring of 2x2m observation point, so that the total number of observed in plots this study were 20 subplots. Planting on each plot using “Jajar Legowo” system with the size of 20x40m. Population and intensity of S. innotata were analyzed using t-test. The results of this study showed that the number of adult S. innotata at 5 watt lamp light treatments da 10 watt increased starting from the first week of observation until the final week of observation, where the observation is done once a week for 8 times observation. Total catches imago of S. innotata at most in 5 watt is 110 tails and in 10 watts the highest number of catches is 219 and the result of t-test analysis is that the treatment between the fluorescent lights of 5 watts and 10 watts significantly effect on the intensity of S. innotata observed. Keywords: Intensity of the attack, Lamps traps, and S.innotata, population.
