Abstract

ABSTRACT Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the largest group of economic actors in the Indonesian economy and proved to be the national economic safety valve in times of crisis, as well as being dynamist economic growth after economic crisis. Besides being the largest business sector contribution to national development, SMEs are also creating substantial employment opportunities for workers in the country, so it is helping to reduce unemployment. One key to the success of micro, small and medium enterprises is the availability of a clear market for the products of SMEs. Meanwhile, the fundamental weaknesses faced by SMEs in the field of marketing is a low market orientation, weak in a complex and sharp competition and inadequate marketing infrastructure. Faced with an increasingly open market mechanisms and competitive, market control is a prerequisite to improve competitiveness. Therefore, the role of government is needed in encouraging the success of SMEs to expand market access. Keywords: empowerment, micro small and medium enterprises, economic growth

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesian economy has experience a great turbulence as an effect of financial crisis taking place in 1997 – 1998 which dragged the economic condition into severe, long term crisis. This crisis has destroyed the whole economic components including those in real sector and in the Indonesian capital market which causes many companies to go bankcrupt because of having financial distress. Therefore financial policy relating with financing and investment should be an important factor to attain the company goal. This research is conducted at 100 go public manufacture sector companies in the Jakarta stock exchange as research sample in the period of 2000 – 2004, considering manufacture sector contribution is one third of the total economic output, performing the biggest product domestic bruto contribution, labor user, non oil sector provider, and sales to the whole sectors at Jakarta stock exchange covering more than 60%. Analysis technique implemented is structural equation modelling using AMOS 6 and SPSS 14 software. Research results show that cash flow has a real impact upon leverage, investment, and firm value. If internal fund source of profitability is low and debt benefit is smaller than debt cost, the company will experience financial distress and risk of bankcruptcy. Therefore, the company is expected to be able to manage debt effectirely, conduct operational efficiency and effectivity, together with the use of too big debt while the macro economic condition has not been stable yet. Keywords: Cash flow, leverage, investment, the value of firm.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypothesis that is told (1) there are interrelationship wich significant characteristich with earnings of sellers gingers drink (HIK) in Surakarta (2) capital factor as one of most the bearing dominance with earning of sellers gingers drink (HIK) in Surakarta. Where as data analysis apply Chi Square test namely compare X2 calculate with X2 table. If X2 calculate bigger than X2 is table, Ha received by Ho rejected where as for knowing very factor dominant the bearing by comparing coefficient of contingency with maximum coefficient of contingency progressively tightly the bearing both variable. Interrelationship working capital with earning shown by level of X2 calculate = 4, 69 compared by X2 table = 9,49 so that Ho received. Location effort showing X2 calculate = 14,7 bigger from X2 table = 9,49 so that Ho rejected Ha is received, available to being concluded by location effort relating to earning of sellers gingers drink (HIK). Education with X2 calculate = 3,703 compared is smaller with X2 table = 9,49 so that Ho is received. Old effort yielding X2calculate = 0,374 smaller compared with X2 table = 9,49 hence Ho received. Where as X2 calculate of office hours = 3,398 is smaller if compared with X2 tabke = 9,49, thereby Hois received. Base upon coefficient of contingency compared with maximum coefficient of contingency hence location effort giving the biggest coefficient and closest with maximum coefficient of contingency, then hypothesis expressing anticipated by working capital factor as one of sellers characteristic gingers drink (HIK) in Surakarta is unprovable of the truth. Precisely research result indicate that location effort tightest of the bearing with earning of sellers gingers drink (HIK) in Surakarta.
