Abstract

Distributed ledger technology, better known as blockchain, has emerged as a promising breakthrough in supporting financial inclusion, especially for populations that are not covered by conventional financial frameworks. This paper aims to investigate the contribution of blockchain in boosting financial inclusion compared to the established financial system through a systematic literature review approach. This paper summarizes literature from leading academic databases to identify key findings on the benefits, constraints, and prospects of blockchain development in the financial sector. The analysis shows that blockchain can expand the accessibility of financial services, reduce transaction costs, and provide greater transparency and protection. However, several challenges arise such as the lack of regulatory framework, knowledge disparity, and issues of scalability and interoperability. The conclusion of this review indicates that blockchain has significant potential to boost financial inclusion, but collaborative efforts from governments, corporations, and technology innovators are needed to overcome these obstacles. This paper provides an in-depth understanding of the opportunities and challenges of blockchain implementation and recommendations for further research.

Abstract

Local folklore is an essential part of Indonesia's cultural heritage that must be preserved, especially in today’s digital era where young people tend to lose interest in traditional stories. This study aims to develop an interactive media in the form of a visual novel as a tool for introducing local stories through a more engaging and technologically relevant approach. The method used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), consisting of six stages: concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The visual novel is developed using technology that integrates 2D graphics, voice narration, and animations, and offers branching storylines to enhance user interaction. User testing using the User Acceptance Test (UAT) method resulted in an average user satisfaction score of 4.4 out of 5. Additionally, pre-test and post-test results showed a 79.3% increase in users' understanding of the story content. Therefore, this visual novel is not only an effective educational media alternative to reintroduce traditional stories to younger generations, but also successfully introduces the story of Ki Kures and Naga Antaboga in an engaging and modern format.

Abstract

The DLU Ferry application has not fully met user expectations in terms of ease of understanding information on schedules, fares, and supporting features, and often experiences data synchronization issues that can undermine user confidence. This study aims to optimize the user interface of the DLU Ferry application to meet user needs for clear, accessible, and real-time information. The Design Thinking approach (Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototyping, Testing) was chosen because it prioritizes user-centricity, facilitates a deep understanding of user needs and challenges, and enables the creation of sustainable and iterative solutions. Quantitative testing was conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and A/B Testing. The final iteration of the SUS testing yielded an average score of 86, indicating the “Excellent” or “Best Imaginable” category in terms of usability, proving the success of the optimization efforts. However, there are areas for continuous improvement based on respondent feedback, including enhancing application performance and stability, refining the user interface, adding features, improving information quality and accessibility, and strengthening customer service and integration.

Abstract

Social media now plays a crucial role as a platform for the public to voice opinions and views on public issues, including political policies such as the Draft Law on Regional Head Elections (RUU Pilkada). This study analyzes the performance of the Naïve Bayes, SVM, and KNN algorithms in classifying public sentiment towards the 2024 Regional Election Bill (RUU Pilkada) using two data labeling methods: manual and lexicon-based labeling. A total of 15,202 Instagram comments from Tempo.co, Kompas.com, and TvOnenews were analyzed, with 80% used as training data and 20% as testing data. The results show that SVM demonstrated the most consistent performance across both methods, achieving the highest accuracy of 78%. Naïve Bayes exhibited sensitivity to the labeling method, achieving 74% accuracy with lexicon-based labeling and 71% with manual labeling. KNN recorded the lowest performance, especially with lexicon-based labeling, achieving only 64% accuracy. The lexicon-based labeling method improved precision, recall, and F1-score across all algorithms, with SVM achieving the highest precision, recall, and F1-score at 76%, 76%, and 75%, respectively. This study highlights the significant impact of the labeling method on model performance, with lexicon-based labeling proving to be more effective in improving the quality of sentiment classification.

Abstract

The escalating cost of healthcare necessitates accurate prediction methods for determining medical insurance premiums. This research compares the performance of three nonlinear regression models, namely Polynomial, Ridge, and Lasso, in estimating individual health insurance costs. The research process follows the CRISP-DM framework, which includes the stages of business understanding, data processing, modeling, and evaluation. The dataset used is the Medical Cost Personal Dataset from Kaggle, containing 1,338 individual data points with seven demographic and behavioral features. Six outliers in the BMI and charges features were removed using the IQR method, while categorical features were encoded with One Hot Encoding. Numerical features were transformed using second-degree Polynomial Features to capture nonlinear relationships, and then the data was split into 80% training and 20% testing. Evaluation used the Mean Squared Error (MSE) and R-squared (R²) metrics. The results indicate Ridge Regression yielded the best performance with an R² value of 0.857 and an MSE of 2.35×10⁷. This model is more stable and effective in handling multicollinearity compared to the other two models. Nevertheless, the average prediction error of approximately USD 4,800 suggests the need for increased accuracy through parameter tuning or data augmentation before being implemented in a real business environment.

Abstract

Cryptocurrency trading has an extremely high level of price volatility, which creates the need for traders to have a decision support system capable of providing market analysis quickly and adaptively. Therefore, the automated system developed in this study integrates data mining technology and a Telegram bot to strengthen traders in making buy–sell decisions for crypto assets. This system uses the public API of Indodax to obtain real-time price data and analyzes it using the RSI indicator dynamically, rather than relying on static indicator data. The analysis results are then connected to a Telegram bot, enabling it to send automatic notifications when overbought or oversold conditions occur. In addition, these automated results are also utilized in a system that has already integrated previous RSI analysis. Through the “before, now, and after” perspective, the system is able to provide updated prices, the latest interactive charts, and reminders via the bot, making it easier for users to monitor the market and respond to opportunities. This approach offers an integrated solution for trading decision-making based on technical analysis and real-time communication, as it increases the speed of decision-making and demonstrates flexibility in analyzing various coin pairs and time frames.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need of CV. Pertiwi Asri, a company engaged in landscaping services, to improve the efficiency of its promotional processes, which have not been optimized through the use of information technology, resulting in limited market reach. To address this issue, the study designs an information system based on Enterprise Architecture using the TOGAF ADM (The Open Group Architecture Framework – Architecture Development Method) approach. The main objective of this research is to develop an enterprise architecture blueprint and design the user interface of a digital company profile information system that includes services, portfolios, and an online project proposal feature. The results of this study are expected to provide both strategic and technical guidance for CV. Pertiwi Asri in developing an integrated information system that aligns with business needs, thereby enhancing competitiveness and expanding market reach effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Leadership (DL) on the successful implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in traditional organizations. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research identifies and synthesizes relevant empirical and theoretical studies from 2020 to 2025. The findings indicate that Digital Leaders play a crucial role in integrating technological, human, and cultural aspects to ensure effective MIS implementation. They act as transformational agents who establish strategic direction and vision, foster an adaptive organizational culture, and empower employees through communication and trust. The study highlights that job crafting behavior serves as a mediating variable linking digital leadership to MIS effectiveness, while traditional organizational culture acts as a negative moderating factor that may hinder employee adaptation. Therefore, the success of MIS implementation in traditional organizations depends not only on technological readiness but also on the ability of Digital Leaders to navigate cultural challenges, promote collaboration, and cultivate a digital mindset across all organizational levels.

Abstract

The rapid growth and advancement of digital technology have encouraged educational institutions to adopt information systems to support academic processes. Universitas Advent Indonesia (UNAI) has implemented an Academic Information System and a Learning Management System (LMS) as part of its digital transformation in educational services. This study aims to evaluate the level of cybersecurity risk and maturity in the university’s academic information system using the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework. Risk analysis was conducted using NIST SP 800-30 to identify, analyze, and evaluate potential threats and vulnerabilities. The effectiveness of security controls was assessed based on NIST SP 800-53A, while the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) was applied to measure the maturity level of information security implementation. The study employed two instruments: (1) a security awareness questionnaire for structural respondents to assess their perception and understanding of information security, and (2) a security control audit for technical respondents to evaluate the actual implementation of security measures. The collected data were processed using a descriptive–quantitative method and converted into maturity levels according to the CMMI model. The results show that the structural group obtained an average score of 3.94, corresponding to Level 4 (Quantitatively Managed), indicating that security controls have been implemented consistently and measured effectively. The technical group achieved an average score of 3.60, corresponding to Level 3 (Defined), suggesting that security processes are standardized but not yet fully based on quantitative measurement. According to the NIST SP 800-30 framework, most security controls are categorized as implemented and partially implemented. These findings indicate that UNAI’s cybersecurity maturity level is generally strong but still requires improvement in policy documentation, supervision, and security training to achieve the optimal maturity level.

Abstract

The digitization of administration in Islamic boarding schools is an important requirement for improving the effectiveness of academic and financial data management for students. The manual system that was previously used sometimes caused delays in reporting, risks of recording errors, and limited access to information for parents and administrators. Based on these needs, the researcher developed and evaluated a website-based Academic and Financial Information System for students at an Islamic boarding school to support transparency in reporting and ease of access. The system was developed using a prototyping approach utilizing the Laravel framework. The system was tested using the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) method, which involved 31 respondents as direct users. The UAT instrument consisted of 22 questions covering user-friendliness, user satisfaction, system functionality, and system performance. The test results showed that all aspects received a “very good” rating with the following average percentages: ease of use 88.5%, satisfaction 91.05%, functionality 90.07%, and performance 89.6%. These findings confirm that the system has worked according to the operational needs of the Islamic boarding school, is capable of managing academic, financial, and student savings data in an integrated manner, and supports the involvement of guardians through real-time access to information. Then, the system is considered feasible to implement and has the potential to improve the quality of administrative services in Islamic boarding schools.
