<![CDATA[This research was to describe (1) the linguistic politeness and (2) the kind of politeness shift in Cerdas Berbahasa Indonesia untuk SMA/MA Kelas X written by Engkos Kosasih. This research used descriptive-qualitative research design. The data of the research were descriptive; they were the form of utterances and sentences stated in each sections of the handbook. The result of the research was that there were 219 utterances which obeyed and violated the politeness principles. 152 utterances obeyed the politeness principles especially the tact maxim. 15 utterances were the polite imperative utterances but they violated the modesty maxim. The forms of violations found in the handbook were 50 utterances with the modesty maxim violation, while the other 2 utterances with the modesty maxim violations and at once the tact maxim violations. Most utterances found in the handbook obeyed the politeness principles. It seems that the imperative utterances in the handbook are polite.]]>

<![CDATA[Setiap karya terjemahan perlu dinilai kualitas terjemahannya. Demikian pula penerjemahan istilah yang eufemistik dan disfemistik pada teks berita media online BBC. Media online BBC telah diterjemahkan ke berbagai bahasa, salah satunya adalah bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kualitas terjemahan teks berita online BBC khususnya ungkapan eufemisme dan disfemismenya. Data penelitian ini diambil dari www.bbc.com dan terjemahannya dari www.bbc.com/Indonesia yang berjumlah 156 data. Penelitian ini menggunakan Translation Quality Assessment rujukan Nababan (2012). Teknik pengumpulan data dengan analisis dokumen, kuesioner, dan focus group discussion. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis isi Spradley. Hasil penilaian kualitas terjemahan menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar ungkapan eufemisme dan disfemisme pada teks berita online BBC diterjemahkan secara akurat pada bahasa sasaran (75%), hanya sebagian kecil ungkapan diterjemahkan dengan kurang akurat (21,8%,) dan tidak akurat (2,9%).]]>

<![CDATA[Diarrhea is a disease marked by the increasing frequency of defecation more than three times a day accompanied by liquid stools with or without blood or mucus. According to Word Gastroenterology Organization (2012), children with acute diarrhea can be healed by oral rehydration theraphy, zink supplement theraphy, diet, probiotics, and antibiotics. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the rational prescription of antibiotics for child patients suffering from diarrea in Madiun City Hospital. The research subjects were sixty nine patients; the method of collecting data was purposive sampling. The data of this non experimental research were retrospectively obtained from medical record and descriptively analyzed. The research result showed that in Madiun City Hospital antibiotic was given with right indication 59,02%, with the right patients 100%, with the right drug 100%, and the right dose 78,85%.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of the research was to examine: (1) the effect of investment opportunity set on dividend payout at the firms listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange at period 2013-2015 and (2) the effect of investment opportunity set on dividend payout with insider ownership as a moderating variable at the firms listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange at 2013-2015 period. The population in this research was all of the firms listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange at 2013-2015 period, namely 266 firms. The samples were taken with purposive sampling method; they were 35 firms. The criteria of the firms becoming samples were (1) having insider ownership and (2) having amount of stocks to be sold. The data collection technique was using documentation of the center of stock exchange data, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM. The data analysis method was multiple linear regression. The analysis showed that the investment opportunity set had a negative impact on dividend payout, while the insider ownership strengthened the relationship.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception on ideal counselors’ personalities according to the students of SMK PGRI Madiun Wonoasri for the 2014/2015 academic year and whether the counselor personalities were in conformity with the ideal expectation of the students. The research population were all students of SMK PGRI Wonoasri for the 2014/2015 academic year, namely 1000 students. Using cluster random sampling, the total samples of this research were set at 25% of the population, namely 250 students. The data collection tool was the perception scale developed into the form of positive and negative statements following the Likert scale model with four alternative answers. The data analysis technique was descriptive percentage method (DP). The conselors who had ideal personalities according to the students can be sorted based on the indicator variables; the highest percentage obtained from the subjects marking ‘appropriate’ and ‘very appropriate’ in their resposes was 1) Warm and friendly (97.6%), 2) Competent (99.2%), 3) Patience (97.4%), 4) Trustworthy and honest (97.5%), 5) Dignified (90.8%), and 6) Consistent (78.7%). The counselors who did not have ideal personalities were the ones who were only friendly at school and who did not get sense of humour.  ]]>

<![CDATA[Madiun in Eastern Java is better known as the city of Brem and pecel; people ignore some batik companies which actually have not yet operated optimally; one of them is Batik Primadewi Madiun. From the interviews with the business owners, the greatest obstacle in batik bussiness is marketing the products. The purpose of this study was to identify anything that makes marketing the products of Batik Primadewi Madiun problematic; it was the same as finding obstacles which hindered the batik business development. Qualitative descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis showed that the factors that constrained the product marketing was the lack of marketing personnel to focus on product marketing efforts and the lack of creativity in making new batik designs. Accordingly, the formulation of strategic development of Batik Primadewi Madiun was providing marketing personnel, using internet to inspire batik designs which were more various, enriching batik designs, making the batik designers available, establishing batik trainings, ensuring batik coloring trainings, strengthening internal management, improving the utilization of worth of mouth consumers, and becoming the initiator of the establishment of batik entrepreneur forum in Madiun.]]>

<![CDATA[This aim of the research was to find the effect of Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy on reducing anxiety in a child who gets post-traumatic a stress disorder symptom. The subject of the research was a ten-year-old boy who experienced one or more anxiety symptoms. The researcher applied the single subject design method with Interrupted Time Series Design. The data were collected by Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) which have been adapted into Indonesian language. The researcher applied the cognitive behavioral play therapy which was administered six meetings. The analitical descriptive and statistic table were used to describe the data and Wilcoxon the Signed Rank Test was applied on it. Based on the statistical analysis, the result showed that thit (0) < t.01 (19), strengthened the significant differences between the level of anxiety before and after the treatment. The level of anxiety became lower after the application of Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy. Â ]]>

<![CDATA[Batik, as an original Indonesian culture, is heritage that should be preserved; the manufacturing process of the craft has also been preserved historically since the royal era. Every region in Indonesia even has various styles and motifs. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of marketing mix strategies in the home industries of batik in Madiun City. Based on the results of field observations, interviews, and the analysis of the documentation both by our researchers and the others, the batik artisans in Madiun City already developed a marketing strategy even though it was at the very simple level. Some batik home industries in the city of Madiun used natural dyes for batik color variations; they used colors from the leaves of Ketapang and Mahoni combined with Jambal and Tingi woods. This was done as batik product diversification efforts in the city of Madiun in which chemical dyes (Napthol and Remazol) in the batik home industries were dominant. The other efforts developed were developing a product labeling strategy, promoting the products via internet, and selling the products through exhibitions and fashion shows organized by the batik artisan groups in the city of Madiun. The Batik craftsmen also started developing a branding strategy. We suggest each batik artisan in the city of Madiun develops a distinctive motif so that they can compete each other well. It is similar to any big business competitions in which the businessmen adopt blue ocean strategies.]]>

<![CDATA[Trichoderma mass production requires the appropriate media, so the first step is necessary to identify the substrates which are appropriate, inexpensive, stable, and easily available. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of agricultural waste corn straw, rice straw and bagasse against fungal radial growth activity of Trichodema viride. The study was conducted with one control and three treatments. The control was without the addition of agriculture waste; the three treatments were with the addition of corn straw powder substrate, rice straw powder substrate, and bagasse powder substrate. The observation of the research parameters included the macroscopic and microscopic observation of the fungus Trichoderma viride isolate and the measurement of growth rate during the incubation period, namely within 24 to 110 hours. The result of the measurement of the activity of radial growth of Trichoderma viride showed that the addition of the substrate bagasse was the highest in which the diameter was 74.96 mm, while the addition of corn straw substrate had the lowest in which the diameter was 32.69 mm. The highest rate of radial growth of 20.11 mm/day was produced by the addition of substrate bagasse, while the lowest rate, namely 11.42 mm/day, was the result of the addition of corn straw.]]>

<![CDATA[This study was aimed at examining the influence of understanding and knowledge of taxpayers, taxpayer awareness, tax authority service, tax penalties, and perception of the effectiveness of information system on the individual taxpayer compliance in paying taxes. Research samples were individual taxpayers having NPWP. The sampling method was non probability sampling. The primary data were collected by questionaire. The hypothesis was tested with the linear regression analysis. The results showed that the understanding and knowledge of taxpayers, taxpayer awareness, tax authority services, and perception of the effectiveness of tax system got influence on the tax compliance. Nevertheless, the tax penalties did not have any significant effect on the compliance of tax payers in paying the tax.]]>
