Abstract

Image processing is now badly needed, especially in analyzing the level of doubt in the decision-making of an object / image. In decision-making, it is necessary to apply edge detection method. Today, a lot of edge detection methods can be used to conduct some analysis. Based on these issues, the writer tries to analyze the performance of edge detection by combining the already existing method. By the use of the combination of methods, it is expected that an edge detection method can be gained to serve as an alternative method. This case study was performed on the image of Reog of Ponorogo.

Abstract

The problems described are common problems that occur in learning mathematics in secondary school. The problems that occur can be grouped according to the learning component, i.e., materials, methods, media, evaluation, and classroom management. The problems associated with learning material are the tendency of teachers to immediately resolve the learning materials from the achievement of understanding and avoid the problem solving and geometry. The issues relating to the learning method are that: (1) the method used is less closely linked with the experience of everyday life, (2) information is too obvious, (3) there are rarely teachers who apply the learning with group work, (4) teachers emphasize drills rather than develop the power of reason, and (5) teachers ask students to memorize formulas. The problems associated with the media are concerned with the use of visual aids by the students. The issues relating to evaluation are dealt with the fact that evaluation is always convergent. The problems associated with management of the class are that seating arrangements and room seem to be rather stiff.

Abstract

Abstract

This article examines the factors that become the needs of consumers who once used the reused product. 8.50 LISREL program was used as a means of structural equation modeling analysis of the conceptual framework of research. The results showed that consumers of this category had the possibility to buy reused product if it had the reliability that might operate inaccordance with its function, thus it does not matter if the price of reused product may equal to the price of new product. In addition, a guaranteed replacement of the damaged components during the warranty period and the ease of getting reused product on the market as well as innovation in the reused product continually pursued by the manufacturer would be a prerequisite factor in the willingness of consumers to buy reused product. On the other hand, a guarantee of reused product factually didn’t reduce the anxiety of consumers to buy reused product, neither did the reputation of a company that had not been agreed upon by consumers of this category as supporting quality of reused product.

Abstract

Language is a means of communication among the members of society. Language is realized in speech sounds produced by human organs of speech. Language function may be differentiated into four kinds, namely (1) as a means of self expressing, (2) as a means of communication, (3) as a means of social integrating and adapting, and (4) as a means of socialcontrolling. Besides, there are four language skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing. To write, however, is a productive language skill using writings. To write is capable of opening a new horizon and expressing an apprehension. In addition, to write can also serve as a therapetic activity as well as a spiritual cure. Human beings as alter creators may make use of writing creatively. Therefore, writing may be used as a therapy to handle domestic violence victims.Domestic Violence (KDRT) is any act toward someone, especially a woman, of which may cause miseries or sufferings physically, sexually, and psychologially toward the victims. Moreover, the act intended may ruin a family, such as the act of threating to commit a coercion to seize one’s freedom illegally in a family. The act of writing which may be used to cure domestic violence victims, especially psychological violence victims, includes writing stories, letters, and diaries as a means of therapy for the victims.

This study discusses the ethical perceptions of accounting students on the practice of earnings management. The purpose of this study is to prove that there are differences in ethical perceptions of accounting students on the practice of earnings management in terms of the type of earnings management, consistency of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the direction of earnings management, materiality of earnings management, the period due to earnings management, and the objectives of earnings management. This study used primary data obtained directly from the answers of respondents through questionnaires. The data processing made use of data quality test, that is, validityand reliability testing. Normality test performed to determine the statistical tools that will be used to test the hypothesis. For normally distributed data the hypothesis 1-4 and 6, then used paired sample t test. For data not normally distributed the hypothesis 5, then used the Wilcoxon test. The results of hypothesis testing showed that hypotheses 1-4 are acceptable, while hypotheses 5-6 are not acceptable. This means that there are differences in ethical perceptions of accounting students on the variable of earnings management type, consistency with GAAP, the direction of earnings management, and materiality. Meanwhile, there is no difference in ethical perceptions of accounting students on variable of periods due to earnings management and the objectives of earnings management.

Abstract

Today, many highly educated members of society actually become unemployed. This is one of the problems of education in Indonesia. This phenomenon will not occur if at every level of education there is guidance to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. To formulate a curriculum that contains entrepreneurial training in mathematics learning is certainly not easy. Related to this, the effort for it can be initiated by developing the instruments of mathematics learning which include training to foster entrepreneurial spirit and utilize the existing model. To develop the learning instruments requires development strategies. In this discussion, one of the alternative strategies to develop learning instruments is Borg and Gall’s development strategy. This development strategy combines with Nieven’s criteria fordevelopment of teaching materials, namely: valid, practical, and effective. Thus, if all the learning instruments which include Learning Implementation Plan (LIP), Guidebook for Teacher (GFT), Student Book (SB), Student Worksheet (SW), and Test of Learning Outcomes (TLO) have meet Nieven’s criteria, then the learning instruments are ready to be used and disseminated.
