Anxiety is major psychological problem in congestive heart failure (CHF) patients. Anxiety leads to reduced quality of life. Anxiety can be treated using non phamacologic intervention. One of the interventions is progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). PMR is the most simple relaxation technique and possible to be applied in CHF patient. This study aimed to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation on anxiety IN CHF patients in dr. Slamet Garut hospital. This study used quasi-experimental design pretest and posttest with control group. Samples were selected using consecutive sampling technique (23 patients for each group). Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) was used to measured anxiety. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. Analysis showed that there was a significant decrease in the mean anxiety score pre and post test both in the intervention and control group (p=0.000) and a significant difference in mean anxiety score reduction between groups (p=0.017) This study concluded that progressive muscle relaxation was effective to reduce anxiety levels in CHF patients. Nurses can apply progressive muscle relaxation as a complementary therapy to reduce anxiety in CHF patients

Tuberculosis is a disease that requires lengthy treatment. Knowledge of tuberculosis as well as family and social support are considered as important components of efficacy decisions. This study was conducted to analyse the relationship between knowledge, family and social support and self-efficacy and self-care behaviour in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The research used a cross sectional design. The population were 77 people and 65 respondents were obtained using a purposive sampling technique. Instruments used were knowledge, family support, social support, self-efficacy and self-care behaviour questionnaires. The data analysis method used was the Spearman rho test with a significance value of ??0.05. There were significant correlations between knowledge (p=0.003) and family support (p=0.000) and self-efficacy. There was no correlation between social support (p=0.106) and self-efficacy. There was a correlation between knowledge (p=0.048), family support (p=0.036) and social support (p=0.022) and self-care behaviour. There was a relationship between knowledge and family support and self-efficacy, whereas social support had no relationship with self-efficacy. There was a relationship between knowledge, family support and social support and self-care behaviour. Future researchers are expected to be able to design quasi experimental research to determine cultural differences (habits) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis

Living with brothers and/or sisters who have been diagnosed with cancer can cause psychological problems on the part of siblings. This paper aimed to explore the psychosocial impacts of cancer on siblings. This research is a qualitative study using a descriptive phenomenology approach. There were eight siblings who were key informants aged between 8-18 years old, selected through a purposive sampling technique. In-depth interviews were the techniques used to collect data, followed by conducting verbatim transcripts. For data analysis, the Colaizzi’s analysis model was applied. The qualitative thematic analyses identified that the psychosocial impact experienced by siblings included the following: (1) grieving process (2) psychological responses; and (3) changes in the sibling's life. This paper suggests that all relevant parties, with particular reference to health care institutions and nurses, should pay attention to information and communication given to the siblings and family so that the effect of children with cancer and the psychosocial impact on siblings in families can be reduced.

Disclosing HIV status has inhibited HIV infected persons from getting access to sufficient prevention, care, treatment, and support, which in turn can contribute to poor HIV/AIDS control. This study aims to explore the reasons underlying the barriers to disclosing HIV status to family members among people with HIV infection. This is a qualitative exploratory study. Forty participants participated in the study which was divided into five focus group discussions. They were purposively recruited from two district hospitals in West Java. FGDs were audiotape recorded with permission from participants and were verbatim transcribed. Data were analyzed qualitatively by thematic analysis technique. Four major themes emerged from the data; 1) Negative feelings about being a HIV-infected person, 2) Feeling fear of being rejected by family members, 3) Avoiding being a burden on the family, 4) Desiring to maintain a good relationship with family members. The study suggested that nurses and health care providers need to consider family as the primary source of support and encouragement for people with HIV infection. Strengthening the self-confidence of PLWH and family coping strategies needs to be more emphasized when caring for people with HIV infection particularly in the first stage after being diagnosed as HIV positive.

Abnormal discharge from the vagina and infections of the reproductive tract can be prevented by practicing good menstrual hygiene. The ease by which adolescents are able to access information will affect the level of knowledge adolescents have about menstrual hygiene. This study aimed to determine the differences in levels of knowledge and practices of menstrual hygiene in boarding school students in rural and urban areas, before and after having being given health education using booklet media. This study was quasi experimental research. The research took place at MTs Al Falaah Pandak Bantul representing the rural area and MTs Mu'allimat Yogyakarta representing the urban area between December 2016 and January 2017. Knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene was measured by a questionnaire. There was no statistically significant difference between knowledge of menstrual hygiene in the boarding schools of both rural and urban groups p=0.473, whereas the difference between hygiene practice regarding menstruation in both groups showed a significant difference p=0.000. There were significant differences in the levels of knowledge and practice of menstruation hygiene between the boarding school students in both the rural areas and urban areas before and after health education using a booklet. A higher mean value was indicated by the boarding school students in urban areas.

Adolescence is an unstable period which often makes teenagers fall into free sex. Free sex generally occurs not only because of adolescent’s desire or willingness, but also by the influence of environment and the insufficient and incorrect health information. This research was part of community service with quantitative quasi-experimental research type. The sample in this study was 300 teenagers in the city of Medan which then divided into intervention group (n=150) and control group (n=150). The intervention was health education about reproduction and sexual development in adolescents by involving counseling teachers, and the establishment of reproductive and sexual health counseling team in school. Statistical test was performed with Mann-Whitney. The results showed that health education was effective in increasing knowledge (p = 0,000) and attitudes (p =0,000) of students towards free sex behavior in Medan. Adolescent’s knowledge and attitudes toward sexual behavior can be improved through counseling and education. Health workers must be able to optimize their role in providing health education and counseling especially about the adolescent’s sexual development by involving the role of family and school.

There was the significant different perception of spirituality and spiritual care as a total, and in subscale of spirituality based on the geographic location (p=0.006). Respondents felt well informed (52.2%), got training (4.8%), capable of delivering spiritual care (70%), mostly considered the patient spiritual need through listening and observing patients by themselves (67.9%).
