Abstract

Competition in the airline industry is very high. This can be seen that there are so many enterprises in this industry. There is a change in the legacy carriers to low cost carriers. Companies that still maintain the legacy carriers will have an impact on higher rates charged to passengers compared to the low cost carriers. Therefore the companies that use the legacy carriers should be able to provide better services than the companies that use low cost carriers. The companies should pay attention to service quality and fairness of tariffs, so that consumers perceived value to these companies are much more higher than to the company that using low cost carriers. As a result, customer retention occurs.

Abstract

This research is aimed to find empirical evidence on whether there is a significant difference between Regionally-Generated Income (Pendapatan Asli Daerah, or PAD) before and after the shift of the collection of Land and Building Taxes for Rural and Urban Sectors (Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan sektor Pedesaan dan Perkotaan, or PBB-P2) to regional governments. PAD is measured by local revenue sources. Three regencies/municipalities that have experienced the shift during the 2011-2013 period were selected for sampling. Secondary data were obtained from Revenue Realization Reports (Laporan Realisasi PAD) of Yogyakarta for the years 2011-2013, Revenue Realization Reports of Sleman and Bantul for the years 2012-2013, and PBB-P2 and the Sales Value of the Tax Object (Nilai Jual Objek Pajak, or NJOP) data obtained from DPPKAD. Meanwhile, primary data were obtained through interviews conducted with the PBB-P2 tax officers. The findings showed a significant difference of PAD. This, however, was not due to the shift of PBB-P2 tax collection to regional governments. The difference was caused by other revenue sources. Keywords: PBB-P2 tax collection shift, PAD

Abstract

The economic crisis and the entry of commercial banks in the small micro-credit market is estimated to have an impact on rural banks (BPR) business. By using time series data, and using performance measures such as the performance of rural banks lending, third-party funds (savings and deposits), lending rates, and spreads, the study concluded that the entry of commercial banks in the small micro-credit markets do not interfere (negative affect) the performance of BPR DIY. In terms ofthe economic crisis, the response performance of BPR DIY show mixed reactions. In terms of lending and third-party funds, the economic crisis actually makes BPRis able to raise his credit and increase the ability to collect deposits. While in the case of the determination of interest rates, the crisis negatively affect the interest rate (lower lending rates). Similarly, for a variable spread, the crisis also have negative impacts, which means that with the economic crisis, the ability of BPR take spread decreases. Keywords: rural bank, micro and small enterprises credit, crisis economy
