Abstract

This research aims to provide empirical evidence of the behavior of audit staff that reflects the quality ofaudit performed. This research predicts that audit quality is determined by social mismatch between auditor staffand client. This research also examines the effect of supervisor type on audit quality according to McGregor’stheory. This research is carried out using 2x2 between subject experimental designs. The subjects are studentsin Accounting Department of state university in Central Java. The result indicates that social mismatch between auditor staff and client is able to decrease probabilityto collect audit evidence. However, type of supervisor is not found to be significant determinant of probabilityto collect audit evidence. This research implies the need to intensify training in accounting firm to overcomemismatch between auditor staff and client. Keywords: social mismatch, type of supervisor, audit quality, experiment

In the last few years, traffic congestions are often occurred in Yogyakarta. This situation is caused by the increasing number of vehicles in Yogyakarta. This study evaluates the effect of the gross regional domesticproduct (PDRB), the people of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (JP), and region income (PD) to the number of vehicles in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (JKB). The model consists of one behavioral equation: the number of vehicles equation. The estimation technique uses Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). MacKinnon, White, and Davidson test (MWD test) is used to choose between the two models: linear regression model or log-linearregression model. The sample covers observations for 23 years (1990 - 2012). The data are obtained from (1) Bank Indonesia (2) Badan Pusat Statistik DIY and various other sources. It is found that individually lnJP andlnPD are statistically significant (positive) except ln PDRB on the basis of (separate) t test. It is also found that on the basis of the F test collectively all the regressors have a significant effect on the regressand lnJKB.Keywords: the number of vehicles, traffic congestion, linear regression model, log-linear regression model.

One proxy is taken for real earnings management, while abnormal operating cash flows and proxy for audit quality are taken as the size of audit firm. Research samples are selected from the population of manufacturing companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia from year 2007 to 2011. Sample criteria is companies which have strong incentive to engage in real earnings management and 126 companies are selected. Multiple Regression Model has been applied for data analysis. It is found that impact of audit quality on real earnings management is positive. Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of excise of cigarette price changes to the consumption of cigarette and Central Java’s economy and household income. In the first stage, with employing panel data regression model,i.e. fixed effect model (FEM) which include 35 regencies/cities in Central Java Province during 2009-2013, the study examines the effect of cigarette excise to cigarette consumption. On the next stage, the study simulatesthe impact of cigarette consumption shock to the Central Java’s sectoral economy and household income using the Central Java 2013 Input-Output table. The findings indicate that the cigarette excise has a tradeoff effect tohousehold’s cigarette consumption. The increase of cigarette excise reduces cigarette consumption, and next, reduces output and sectoral household income. The cigarettes industries suffered the highest impact of thedecrease of the cigarette consumption, followed by other sectors which is has a high link to cigarette industries such as agricultures and tobacco sectors. Keywords: cigarette, excise, panel data regression, input-output analysis

Abstract

Traditional food seems to not have a big appeal for students and that it is not as good as modern food. Interestingly, the students can not define which one is the traditional food. The lack of the knowledge of the traditional food makes them confused since in their own household they are never given the information about it. Although the traditional food is being offered at a unique restaurant with a good atmosphere and good visual, they do not think it is enough for them to choose the traditional food over modern food. Keywords: indonesia, traditional food, consumer perceptions
