Abstract

Owing to its diverse, the stability of arc signals in high-powered submerged arc welding is not very salient, and weld defects are difficult to detect automatically. Aimed at this problem, this paper proposes a noise robustness algorithm for calibrating the singularity points and denoting the kinetics and stability of arc. Firstly, reconstruct a vector, which is the calculation of the approximate entropy in phase space, denotes the distortion of arc. Then, a algorithm for calculation is given based on reconstruction of chaotic time series in phase space. Finally, we apply the calculation of approximate entropy algorithm in phase space to flaw detection for arc signals, which is efficient proved by experimental results.

Abstract

Information about public health has a very important role not only for health practitioners, but also for goverment. The importance of health information can also affect the emotional changes that occur in the community, especially if there is news about the spread of infectious disease (epidemic) in particular area at the time, such as case of outbreaks Ebola disease or Mers in specific area. Based on data obtained from Semiocast, Indonesia is the country with fifth largest number of Twitter users in the world, where every topic that lively discussed will also influence a global trending topic. This paper will discuss the measurement of public health concern (Degree of Concern) level by using sentiment analysis classification on the twitter status. Sentiment data of the tweets were analyzed and given some value by using a scoring method. The scoring method equation (Kumar A. et al., 2012) will be tested with new additional parameters, ie symptoms parameters. The value of any twitter user sentiment is determined based on adjectives, verbs, and adverbs that contained in the sentence. The method that we used to find the semantic value of adjectives is corpus-based method. While for finding the semantic value of the verb and adverb we used a dictionary-based method.

Abstract

Automatic multi-document summarization needs to find representative sentences not only by sentence distribution to select the most important sentence but also by how informative a term is in a sentence. Sentence distribution is suitable for obtaining important sentences by determining frequent and well-spread words in the corpus but ignores the grammatical information that indicates instructive content. The presence or absence of informative content in a sentence can be indicated by grammatical information which is carried by part of speech (POS) labels. In this paper, we propose a new sentence weighting method by incorporating sentence distribution and POS tagging for multi-document summarization. Similarity-based Histogram Clustering (SHC) is used to cluster sentences in the data set. Cluster ordering is based on cluster importance to determine the important clusters. Sentence extraction based on sentence distribution and POS tagging is introduced to extract the representative sentences from the ordered clusters. The results of the experiment on the Document Understanding Conferences (DUC) 2004 are compared with those of the Sentence Distribution Method. Our proposed method achieved better results with an increasing rate of 5.41% on ROUGE-1 and 0.62% on ROUGE-2.

Abstract

Beef is kind of perishable food that easily to decay. Hence, a rapid system for beef quality assessment is needed to guarantee the quality of beef. In the last few years, electronic nose (e-nose) is developed for beef spoilage detection. In this paper, we discuss the challenges of e-nose application to beef quality assessment, especially in e-nose data processing. We also provide a summary of our previous studies that explains several methods to deal with gas sensor noise, sensor array optimization problem, beef quality classification, and prediction of the microbial population in beef sample. This paper might be useful for researchers and practitioners to understand the challenges and methods of e-nose data processing for beef quality assessment.

Abstract

A stable passive Q-switched pulsed generation in Erbium doped fiber laser by Zinc Oxide nanoparticles embedded in polyvinyl alcohol (ZnONP-PVA)-based saturable absorber is demonstrated in this paper. The surface morphology and thickness profile of the fabricated film were observed using FESEM and 3D measuring laser microscope with the measured thickness of 12 μm. Meanwhile the its optical properties is characterized using Raman spectroscopy. The developed ZnONP-PVA film, has modulation depth of 7.8% and intensity saturation of 88.97 MW/cm2. The threshold input pump power to generate Q-switched pulse is at 45.4 mW and can be tuned until 92.4 mW before the pulse diminished. The operating wavelength of generated pulse is at 1535 nm with 3 dB bandwidth approximately of 2 nm with exclusion of parasitic continuous wave lasing. As the input pump power was tuned from threshold to maximum value, the recorded pulse train of repetition rate is tunable from 73.53 kHz to 103.10 kHz while the pulse width decreases from 6.8 μs to 4.8 μs. The calculated maximum output power and pulse energy at maximum input pump power was 5.14 mW and 49.85 nJ, respectively. The measured signal to noise ratio was 56 dB indicated that the generated pulse by ZnO NP based passive saturable absorber was stable.

Abstract

LoRa is a Radio Frequency module that can send packet data up to 3 km in FSPL.LoRa has 3 different Frequency Radios i.e, 915 MHz, 868 MHz, and 433 MHz. LoRa testing is based on different distances, BME280 provides Barometric Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity data. An analysis from the results of the Received Signal Strength to the distance (m) to the farthest point to prove and provide QoS data from LoRa 915 MHz. Sensor nodes are built using ADR and Automatic sleep mode algorithms. Communication systems between nodes are built dynamic sensor nodes in mesh networking. Monitoring signal transferring on the 915 MHz Frequency waveform is carried out using the Textronix Spectrum analyzer. Based on the BME280 Data packet transmission from the LoRa 915 MHz Transmitter to the Receiver Receiver at a distance of 100m is -84 dBm and at a distance of 500m is -107 dBm. The LoRa Internet Gateway has 2 types of settings, i.e, application, and gateway, this setting is to find out the location of the gateway with longitude and latitude. Furthermore, the gateway holds Sensor data from the End node, while the Application Server displays sensor data in the form of Graphics in realtime.

Abstract

Our study is demonstrated a new type of evolutionary sound synthesis method. This work based on the fly algorithm, a cooperative co-evolution algorithm; it is derived from the Parisian evolution approach. The algorithm has relatively amended the position of individuals (the Flies) represented by 3-D points. The fly algorithm has successfully investigated in different applications, starting with a real-time stereo vision for robotics. Also, the algorithm shows promising results in tomography to reconstruct 3-D images. The final application of the fly algorithm was generating artistic images, such as digital mosaics. In all these applications, the flies’representation started for simple, 3-D points, to complex one, the structure of 9-elements. Our method follows evolutionary digital art with the fly algorithm in representing the pattern of the flies. They represented in a way of having their structure. This structure includes position, colour, rotation angle, and size. Our algorithm has the benefit of graphics processing units (GPUs) to generate the sound waveform using the modern OpenGL shading language.

Abstract

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a standard for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. Due to the LTE standard covers a range of many different bands in each country, therefore an antenna with more than one frequency bands become one of the most important needs in LTE antenna. In this paper, a novel triangular dual band MIMO (2x2) antenna with coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed is proposed to be used for LTE application. The proposed MIMO antenna is able to work in dual frequency that will be implemented in Indonesia at 1.8GHz and 2.35GHz. To obtain the optimum design, the characteristic of proposed antenna are numerically investigated through the physical parameters of antenna. The results show that proposed antenna has a compact size and a bandwidth of 100 MHz which is suitable for LTE application

Abstract

 The calibration using orthogonal line is one of the basic approaches of camera calibration, but it requires the orthogonal line be accurately detected, which makes results of error increases. This paper propose a novel camera self-calibration technique using plane lattices and virtual orthogonal line. The rigorous analytical relations among the feature point coordinates of the plane lattice, the corresponding image point coordinate, intrinsic parameters, relative pose are induced according to homography matrix of the central projection. Let a slope of non-parallel and non-orthogonal virtual line in the lattice plane, and the slope of its orthonormal line can be calculated. In at least three photographs taken, vanishing points can be solved in two groups of orthogonal directions by using the homography matrix, so the camera intrinsic parameters are linearly figured out. This method has both simple principle and convenient pattern manufacture, and does not involve image matching, besides having no requirement concerning camera motion. Simulation experiments and real data show that this algorithm is feasible, and provides a higher accuracy and robustness.

Abstract

Human-robot interaction scenarios are extremely complicated and require precise definition of the environment variables for rigorously testing different aspects of robotic behavior. The environmental setup affects the behaviors of both the humans and the robots, as they respond differently under varying accoustic or lightning conditions. Moreover, conducting several experiments repeatedly with the humans as test subjects also causes behavioral changes in them and eventually the responses remain no longer similar to the already conducted experiments. Thus making it is impossible to perform interaction scenarios in a repeatable manner. Developing and using 3D simulations, where different parameters can be adjusted, is the most beneficial solution in such cases. This requires not only the development of different simulated robots but also the simulation of dynamic surroundings including the interaction partner. In this paper, we present a simulation framework that allows the simulation of human-robot interaction including the simulated interaction partner and its dynamics.
