Abstract

In this paper, new radio access scheme that combines Amplify-and-Forward (AF) relaying protocol and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system is introduced. In particular, different scenarios for fixed power allocation scheme is investigated. In addition, the outage probability of both weak and strong user is derived and provided in closed-form expressions. Such outage is investigated in high SNR scenario and comparison performance between these NOMA scenarios is introduced. Numerical simulations are offered to clarify the outage performance of the considered scheme if varying several parameters in the existing schemes to verify the derived formulas.

Abstract

The detection of genetic mutations has attracted global attention. several methods have proposed to detect diseases such as cancers and tumours. One of them is microarrays, which is a type of representation for gene expression that is helpful in diagnosis. To unleash the full potential of microarrays, machine-learning algorithms and gene selection methods can be implemented to facilitate processing on microarrays and to overcome other potential challenges. One of these challenges involves high dimensional data that are redundant, irrelevant, and noisy. To alleviate this problem, this representation should be simplified. For example, the feature selection process can be implemented by reducing the number of features adopted in clustering and classification. A subset of genes can be selected from a pool of gene expression data recorded on DNA micro-arrays. This paper reviews existing classification techniques and gene selection methods. The effectiveness of emerging techniques, such as the swarm intelligence technique in feature selection and classification in microarrays, are reported as well. These emerging techniques can be used in detecting cancer. The swarm intelligence technique can be combined with other statistical methods for attaining better results.

Abstract

Wavelet packet transform stands out in the field of image fusion for its good frequency characteristics, and pulse coupled neural network (PCNN) has a unique advantage in image processing. To resolve the problem of multi-spectral remote sensing image fusion, in this paper, we put forward an algorithm combined the wavelet packet and PCNN based on HIS transform. The algorithm will be carried out as follows. Firstly, the TM images will be converted into HIS space, and then the luminance component and the high-resolution image will be broken into multi-scale by wavelet packet. Secondly, according to the frequency domain characteristics of the wavelet packet decomposition, we respectively use a method of weighted average in the low-frequency domain and a method of PCNN in the high frequency domain to select reconstruction coefficient. We can get a fused luminance component by taking inverse wavelet packet transform to be reconstructed. Finally, we can obtain the fusion image by taking inverse HIS transform. The experimental results show that the algorithm can be not only to retain the spectral information, but also greatly improve the spatial resolution of multispectral images, has a good fusion effect

Abstract

Ozone is one of the favorable oxidant to use in home appliance and industry as disinfectant for food processing, food storage, odor abatement, groundwater remediation, and drinking water purification. The common and previous technical method for generating ozone uses a high voltage and low frequency. This kind of method has disadvantage of energy efficiency, size and weight. This paper proposed the use power electronics in the inverter resonant circuit to produce alternating current with high frequency. The basic RLC resonance circuit is used for early study to determine resonance frequency for inverter. As the result, the ozone chamber terminal voltage had been achieved for initiation by using resonance frequency.

Abstract

The conventional direct torque control will inevitably produce torque ripple because of its way of flux estimates. For the purpose of handling this problem, a new control strategy was presented in this paper. This strategy combined subdivides control with voltage vector and fuzzy logic control in traditional direct torque control. In this model, the fuzzy logic combined the phase angle of the flux, the flux error and torque error as fuzzy variables and classified these fuzzy variables, in order to optimize the choice of voltage space vector, and the same time the traditional PID regulator is replaced by a fuzzy regulator. Simulation results show that, a great improvement torque responses , a great reduction of torque ripples is achieved and the strategy has a better dynamic and steady performance, especially in low-speed area.

Abstract

In this paper, we analyze the measurement of ultra wideband (UWB) noise channels in different indoor environments. All measurements are done using a vector network analyzer (VNA) which allows us to measure the noise channel transfer functions. We find that the noise power of the system is decreased by increasing the intermediate frequency (IF) bandwidth which leads to an increase in time taken to perform measurements of the channels. Also, we measure the environmental noise power and find that it is slightly affected by fluorescent light sources inside the measurement environments. In addition, we find that the environmental noise is decreased when enclosed in a Faraday cage (steel shed), within an intense multipath measurement environment. We found that, the Environmental noise decreases slightly by using the LPDA antenna compared to using the Teardrop and Horn antennas. Our results show that the Horn antenna is less suitable for UWB channel measurements compared to the LPDA directional antennas because of lower S11 (Return Loss) values. While foromnidirectional antennas, the Teardrop antenna is much more suitable than the monocone antennas for UWB measurements (due to lower S11 values) and decreases the Environmental noise power. As secondary application, we show how a frequency detection device can be used to re-adjust a maladjusted frequency selection on a remote controller for a garage door, in presence of environmental noise power.

Abstract

Broadcast storm attack on the layer 2 networks included looping and duplicate packets that are transmitted continuously in order to prevent the service of the network, thus, it is the type of attack that is against availability. In this research, a Spanning Tree Protocol method, namely PVST+ (Per VLAN Spanning Tree Plus), is used to overcome the problem caused by the broadcast storm attack on Metro Ethernet Network. The PVST+ serves as a redundant network management and it prevented looping on the network. The result obtained from this research is PVST+ is able to mitigate broadcast strom that is shown by the decrease of number of packets and the decrease of the average packet per-second. The average packets per-second on VLAN 1 decrease to 274,041 and the average packets on VLAN 10 decrease to 267,794 packets per-second.
