Describing and representing multi-source and heterogeneous knowledge is a popular research topic in recent years. After investigating knowledge forming process based on multi-source heterogeneous information resources, we present a new approach in which different information resources are put into a mutual RDF(S) data model, and semantic reasoning of RDF(S) is conducted. Moreover, a knowledge base construction framework for multi-source heterogeneous information source with combination of Ontology knowledge model is put forward, and an algorithm of knowledge base construction is also proposed, in which the core issues are knowledge inclusion and updating. Then the time complexity of our algorithm is analyzed. Finally, in order to solve the heterogeneous, and uneven horizontal of geographical distribution of ethnic minority information resources in Yunnan Province, we use the proposed method to construct a domain knowledge base for ethnic minority information resources, and use this model to evaluate the efficiency for the knowledge inclusion algorithm in responding time and indexing responding time for different data resources in our experiments.

Cascaded fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) can enhance gain and bandwidth. The gain and bandwidth can be further enhanced by dithering the FOPA pump. However, to our knowledge, the effects of a pump dithering at every stage of cascaded FOPA have not been discussed. The study of performance at every stage of cascaded FOPA is quite interesting and beneficial in designing the system. Here, we analyzed, using OptiSystem software, each stage of a cascaded FOPA, when there was a pump dithering and not. The results showed that the pump dithering enhanced the gain and broaden the bandwidth at every stage. The gain and bandwidth obtained with the pump dithering were 27 dB and 20 nm, respectively. On the other hand, when there was no pump dithering, the gain and bandwidth were 9 dB and 12 nm, respectively.

Monitoring and maintaining acceptable Quality of Experience is of great importance to video service providers. Perceived visual quality of transmitted video via wireless networks can be degraded by transmission errors. This paper presents a reduced-reference video quality metric of very low complexity and overhead that makes use of frame based spatial (SI) and temporal (TI) activity levels to monitor the effect of channel errors on video transmitted over error prone networks. The performance of the metric is evaluated relative to that of a number of full and reduced reference metrics. The proposed metric outperforms some of the most popular full reference metrics whilst requiring very little overhead.

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with subcarrier index modulation (SIM-OFDM) is recently proposed to enhance the performance of traditional OFDM. By incorporating the index modulation in OFDM, the data can be sent on the indices of subcarriers as well as the subcarriers themselves reducing the system complexity. In addition, the Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and Inter Carrier Interference (ICI) can be reduced by switching on /off some OFDM subcarriers in OOK fashion. In this paper, a comparative study of OFDM with SIM_OFDM and Enhanced SIM_OFDM methods in terms of complexity, spectral efficiency and bit error rate over AWGN channel using two power policies is presented. The simulation results showed that at bit error rate of 10-3, SIM_OFDM and ESIM_OFDM achieved gains in Eb/No of 1.1 dB and 2 dB over 4-QAM OFDM respectively under power reallocation policy. However, the results also showed that traditional OFDM has better spectral efficiency compared to both SIM_OFDM and ESIM_OFDM especially at high M-ary orders.

Conventional malware detection systems cannot detect most of the new malware in the network without the availability of their signatures. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a technique to detect both metamorphic (mutated malware) and general (non-mutated) malware in the network using a combination of known malware sub-signature and machine learning classification. This network-based malware detection is achieved through a middle path for efficient processing of non-malware packets. The proposed technique has been tested and verified using multiple data sets (metamorphic malware, non-mutated malware, and UTM real traffic), this technique can detect most of malware packets in the network-based before they reached the host better than the previous works which detect malware in host-based. Experimental results showed that the proposed technique can speed up the transmission of more than 98% normal packets without sending them to the slow path, and more than 97% of malware packets are detected and dropped in the middle path. Furthermore, more than 75% of metamorphic malware packets in the test dataset could be detected. The proposed technique is 37 times faster than existing technique.

This article elaborates the result of the Pilot Study which is related to IT implementation factors at the Higher Education Institution (HEI), a pilot study is used to validate quantitative readiness model of IT implementation. The main objective of this study is examining the factors that influence the readiness of IT implementation in HEI. This study attempts to analyze IT Content factors, Institutional Context, People, Process, Technology, Service Quality and IT Implementation Readiness (ITIR). The sample of data was taken from 150 HEIs throughout Indonesia which was then processed in statistical techniques through PLS-SEM method. The research finding shows that 9 of the 14 hypotheses used as ITIR model construct have a very significant influence on IT implementation on HEI, so that this finding can provide a comprehensive contribution to the literature of ITIR model development.

In a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT), the density of the two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) channel is modulated by the application of a bias to a Schottky metal gate. These devices are depletion mode (D-mode), which means that a negative bias must be applied to the gate to deplete the electron channel and turn. The most challenging aspect in the present research activity on based-GaN devices is the development of a reliable way to achieve an enhancement-mode (E-mode) HEMT. Enhancement-mode GaN HEMTs would offer a simplified circuitry by eliminating the negative power supply. In this work, the aim is to investigate the different techniques which can influence the threshold voltage and shift it to a positive value. A novel E-mode metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) AlInN/GaN HEMT with an Au-T-gate has been investigated. The impacts of window-recess and deep-recess have been discussed, it was found that for dp=28 nm and wn=1.8 μm the threshold voltage achieves 0.7 V and the transconductance (Gm) peak value of 523 mS at Vgs=3.5 V. The drain current characteristic has been demonstrated.

The Output power of wind turbine is determined by wind speed. The Output power can be adjusted by controlling the generator speed and pitch angle of wind turbine. When the wind speed below the wind turbine rated, the output power of generator can be maximized by controlling the generator speed at point of maximum power coefficient. When the wind speed above the wind turbine rated, output power of wind turbine will exceed the power generators rated. In this condition, the output power of wind turbine needs to be regulated to conform to the generator power rate. Output power of wind turbine can be regulated by adjusting the pitch angle of wind turbine. In this paper is developed the control strategies based intelligent control for controlling the generator speed and pitch angle of wind turbine, so the maximum output power tracking (MOPT) of wind turbine can be obtained at any wind speed variations. Generator speed is controlled using PI Fuzzy Logic Controller (PI-FLC) based Direct Field Oriented Control (DFOC). Pitch angle of wind turbine is controlled using Elman Recurrent Neural Network (RENN). The simulation results with Matlab Simulink shows that the both controller was successfully regulates the output power when the wind speed above the wind turbine rated and the output power can be maximum when the wind speed below the wind turbine rated.
