Abstract

For the single spectrum image could not fully express the target feature information, this paper proposed a multispectral image fusion method based on non-subsample contourlet transform (NSCT). For the low frequency coefficients decomposed, fourth-order correlation coefficient is used to calculate the correlation between each low frequency coefficients, averaging fusion for the higher correlation coefficient, weight phase congruency fusion for the low correlation coefficient. For high frequency coefficients, Gaussian weight sum modified Laplace method is used for fusing, to retain more local structure details. Simulation results show that the method effectively retain the image structure information and more local details, and increase the image contrast.

Abstract

The demand for health technology is increasing especially in the telemetry applications. These applications generally use implanted antennas to be utilized for data transfer from patients to other reader devices. This procedure can make the health care more efficient since it provides fast diagnosis and treatment to the patient. Therefore, in order to effectively implement an implanted antenna inside the human body, thorough numerical analysis and simulations are required prior to the fabrication of antenna. In this work, an implanted antenna has been proposed to be designed at 402.5MHz within the biomedical frequency band of 402- 405MHz. By introducing a compact loop antenna for telemetry applications in a Pacemaker, a number of advantages can be achieved for health care such as efficient data information and quick diagnosis. Moreover, in this work an investigation of compact loop antenna with casing in Pacemaker has been carried out by placing the antenna inside the phantom of human body model.

Abstract

PT Dua Kelinci is one of the largest food industries in Pati Regency one of whose products is egg peanut which needs huge electric and heat energy so that energy saving needs to be done. One of the efforts of energy saving is by conducting cogeneration (merging between electric and heat). This research started from a data collection, i.e. finding out the need of electricity and heat in the process of egg-peanut manufacture by a cogeneration technology at PT Dua Kelinci. The research method includes technical analysis and economic analysis. From the technical analysis, it is found that the electric energy saving by using cogeneration 103.680 kW and the heat energy saving is 4,075 TJ/year. From the economic analysis it is seen that before using cogeneration the cost that should be expended is USD 75.209,61 while after using cogeneration the cost is USD 60.6014,04 therefore from the economic aspect there is energy saving as much as USD 15.19,57/year.

Abstract

In this research, the design and manufacture of radar display software using Plan Position Indicator (PPI) format for air surveillance radar application are presented. The PPI display shows interpretations of echo detections of radar signal reflected from the flying objects/targets. The detection results will be displayed on a circular 360ᵒ area, where the radar position is at the center. System configuration is done via interface from the display, by adjusting the level of transmit signal, by setting the gain for threshold, and by enabling moving target indicator (MTI) mode. The MTI mode only displays moving objects and no non-moving objects are shown such as mountains and buildings. Based on the results of this research, the PPI display shows the targets on the display according to its position, some desired targets can also be tracked, information on target, GPS location, target ID, required parameters, and some settings. The radar display fulfills all the required capabilities for air surveillance radar.

Abstract

In this paper, we consider the red phosphor Ba[Mg2Al2N4]Eu2+ as the novel recommendation for improving the optical properties of the 6000K conformal packaging WLEDs (CPW-LEDs). For this purpose, we investigate the influence of the Ba[Mg2Al2N4]Eu2+ particle size on the optical properties in terms of CCT, CQS, CRI, and LO using the Light Tools and Mat Lab software. From the research results, it can be observed that the optical properties of the 6000K CPW-LEDs are significantly influenced by the size of the Ba[Mg2Al2N4]Eu2+ particle. The CRI and CQS increase from 65 to 67 and 64 to 68 while the size of the Ba[Mg2Al2N4]Eu2+ particle varies from 1 μm to 10 μm, respectively. This research can provide a novel recommendation for LEDs industry at this time.

Abstract

The particularity of our faces encourages many researchers to exploit their features in different domains such as user identification, behaviour analysis, computer technology, security, and psychology. In this paper, we present a method for facial attributes analysis. The work addressed to analyse facial images and extract features in the purpose to recognize demographic attributes: age, gender, and ethnicity (AGE). In this work, we exploited the robustness of deep learning (DL) using an updating version of autoencoders called the deep sparse autoencoder (DSAE). In this work we used a new architecture of DSAE by adding the supervision to the classic model and we control the overfitting problem by regularizing the model. The pass from DSAE to the semi-supervised autoencoder (DSSAE) facilitates the supervision process and achieves an excellent performance to extract features. In this work we focused to estimate AGE jointly. The experiment results show that DSSAE is created to recognize facial features with high precision. The whole system achieves good performance and important rates in AGE using the MORPH II database

Abstract

Feature descriptor and similarity measures are the two core components in content-based image retrieval and crucial issues due to “semantic gap” between human conceptual meaning and a machine low-level feature. Recently, deep learning techniques have shown a great interest in image recognition especially in extracting features information about the images. In this paper, we investigated, compared, and evaluated different deep convolutional neural networks and their applications for image classification and automatic image retrieval. The approaches are: simple convolutional neural network, AlexNet, GoogleNet, ResNet-50, Vgg-16, and Vgg-19. We compared the performance of the different approaches to prior works in this domain by using known accuracy metrics and analyzed the differences between the approaches. The performances of these approaches are investigated using public image datasets corel 1K, corel 10K, and Caltech 256. Hence, we deduced that GoogleNet approach yields the best overall results. In addition, we investigated and compared different similarity measures. Based on exhausted mentioned investigations, we developed a novel algorithm for image retrieval.

Abstract

In this paper, an improved bacterial foraging algorithm (IBFA) is employed to solve economic-emission dispatch (EED) problem. Regarding to more interest to renewable energy sources especially wind energy in recent years, it is necessary to use of incorporate wind power plants into EED problem. To consider realistic conditions, EED is included bi-objective of cost and NOx emission. The problems encountered with BFA are ineffective bacteria elimination resulted in poor performance. To overcome this, a modified BFA is proposed in reproduction step termed as Improved Baterial Foraging Algorithm (IBFA). EED is solved, with wind power plant and without it, subjected to couple of constraintsusing BFA an BFA in a comparative manner.Simulation results show enhancement in convergence accuracy with IBFA rather than conventional BFA.

Abstract

The direct torque control (DTC) is one of control approache that is used commonly in PMSM control system. This method supports a very quick and precise torque response. However, the DTC method is not perfect and has some disadvantages. Many researchers have been proposed to modify the basic DTC scheme for PMSM drive. All this contributions allow performance to be improved, but at the same time they lead to more complex schemes. Furthermore, the PMSM drive control systems are usually based on microcontroller and DSP. Some researchers also have been used DSP and FPGA together to develop DTC for AC drives. These allow improving the performance, but they will increase cost. For the reason above, this paper proposed a new DTC scheme to apply only based on FPGA. The preliminary research showed that the proposed DTC sheme can reduce torque and flux ripples significantly. Therefore, this paper also recomend to realize proposed DTC scheme based on FPGA in order to support to execute very fast computation. The implementation is hoped that it will very potential to replace not only the induction motor but also the DC servo motor in a number of industrial process, commercial, domestic and modern military applications of high-performance drive.
