Abstract

The identification of ovarian cancer using protein expression profile (SELDI-TOF-MS) is important to assists early detection of ovarian cancer. The chance to save patient’s life is greater when ovarian cancer is detected at an early stage. However, the analysis of protein expression profile is challenging because it has very high dimensional features and noisy characteristic. In order to tackle those difficulties, a novel ovarian cancer identification model is proposed in this study. The model comprises of One-Pass Clustering and k-Nearest Neighbors Classifier.  With simple and efficient computation, the performance of the model achieves Accuracy about 97%. This result shows that the model is promising for Ovarian Cancer identification.

Abstract

The image is usually polluted by noises in its acquisition and transmission and noises are of great importance in the image quality, therefore, image de-noising has become a significant technique in image analysis and processing. In the image de-noising based on sparse representation, one of the hot spots in recent years, the useful image information has certain structural features, which coincide with the atomic structure while noises don’t have such features, therefore, sparse representation can separate the useful information from the noises effectively so as to achieve the purpose of de-noising. In view of the above-mentioned theoretical basis, this paper proposes an image de-noising algorithm of sparse representation based on K-means Singular Value Decomposition (K-SVD). This method can integrate the construction and optimization of over-complete dictionary, train the atom dictionary with the image samples to be decomposed and effectively build the atom dictionary that reflects various image features to enhance the de-noising performance of the algorithm in this paper. Through simulation analysis, this method can conduct noise filtration on the image with different noise densities and its de-noising effect is also better than other methods.

Abstract

In this paper, an energy-efficient transmission scheme for dynamic climatic conditions (ETDCC) has been proposed in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). This scheme is based on IEEE802.15.4 standard. In this method, open-loop and closed-loop feedback systems are used for snowfall variation. An open-loop system is utilized for snowfall-aware link quality compensation and estimation. However, closed-loop system aids to split the network into two logical regions, resulting the overhead of total control packets is minimized. According to link quality changes due to snowfall variation, the transmitting power is decided on the basis of current number of neighbor nodes and threshold power loss for each region. The simulated results depict that the proposed scheme with reduced control packets overhead adjusts transmitting power level (Plevel) to compensate link quality. This scheme based on threshold level is compared with the conventional approach that comprises the division of regions without threshold level.

Abstract

Digital television broadcasting is technologies that have been developed by any country in the world. The advantages implementations of digital television broadcasting include reception of picture and sound sharper and better. This paper proposes a new design of spiral labyrinth microstrip antenna feed by microstrip line with array two element for Digital Video Broadcasting Technology (DVB-T) application at work frequency of 586 MHz. The design of spiral labyrinth is used to minimize the dimensions of microstrip patch antenna while maintaining the working frequency at 586 MHz and array technique used to improve gain of antenna. The proposed antenna design was originally a rectangular patch that has been modified by the labyrinth spiral method. From the measurement result obtained return loss of -14.15 dB and VSWR of 1.54 at working frequency of 586 MHz. Bandwidth of proposed antenna is 117 MHz (547 MHz–664 MHz) while gain of antenna is 7.78 dBi. Beside that, using of the labyrinth spiral patch successfully reduced the dimensions of the microstrip antenna until 62.2% compared with the conventional rectangular patch of microstrip antenna. This study is usefull for DVB-T application in order to achieve the maximum signal quality and picture.

Abstract

Demand of energy increases in the global and exponential exhaustion is favored of resources by fossil fuel for electricity production with the new systems development. Compared with all other remainder energies, the specialist sun energy is the most bountiful energy and it's typically easy to be changed into electrical energy. The main thing of using solar panel is to produce electrical energy from sun's energy but the optimum energy can be generated by tracking solar panel due to the sun movement from east to west. The problem can be solved by proposed systems where the sun tracking by solar panel that based on high intensity of sun ray.  This paper concentrates on tracking the sun by using servo motor coupled with solar panel. So that, the largest quantity of sun light at the incident panel along the day at any time is better than that for method of fixed panel array which is less efficient. The microcontroller Arduino (mode UNO) was programmed by using C++ language while the track of sun light processing was implemented by using light depending resistor (LDR), Chip IC H-bridge and microcontroller Arduino (UNO) circuits have been designed by using Proteus software. By circuit design and sun tracking control process, the cost reduction has been improved and high amount of energy was saved when implemented this system.

Abstract

Every organism is known to have different structural and biological system, specifically in human immunity. If the immune system weakens, the body is susceptible to disease especially pneumonia disease. Pneumonia disease is caused by the bacterium Streptococcus pneumonia, and according to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is identified as the leading cause of death in children worldwide, which is about 16%, for those under the age of 5. Meanwhile, someone who is predicted to have pneumonia by a doctor is recommended for an X-ray. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) is an accurate method to help the doctor's predicted correctly. CNNs is divided into two important parts, feature extraction layer (convolutional layer and pooling layer) and fully connected layer. CNNs method is commonly used for image data classification. Therefore, CNNs is suitable to classify pneumonia based on lung X-ray in order to obtain accurate prediction results. And then, the results can be seen based on the graph of the accuracy value and the loss value. When CNNs method applied on the dataset, an accuracy rate of 97% was obtained. Based on accuracy rate, it shows that CNNs can be applied to image data (especially lung X-ray) for classification of pneumonia disease.

Abstract

A low cost miniaturized UWB microstrip antenna with dual notched band for X band and aeronautical radio navigation (ARN) is presented in this article. The antenna (19 16×"> 25 mm2) is composed of a half-circular ring as a radiation patch with an incomplete ground plane. The measured results indicate a fractional bandwidth of 112% for 16S11≤-"> 10 dB between 3 to 10.6 GHz. The dual notched band has been achieved by incorporating window shaped microstrip closed ring resonators at the rear surface of the designed structure. The first notch band is centered at 7.5 GHz (7 8.1 GHz) to reject interference with X-band downlink (7.25 to 7.74 GHz) and second band centered at 9.1 GHz (8.6 9.4 GHz) to reject interference with aeronautical radio navigation (ARN) (8.7 to 9.2 GHz). The simulated and measured return loss, radiation pattern, and gain shows good agreement which confirms the applicability of the designed antenna for the intended UWB applications.

Abstract

In this paper, a simple method for selecting the best conductive angle based on power factor of load in three phase six-switch inverters is proposed. Conductive angle from 120º to 180º, and power factor from 0 to 1 are changed for lead and lag loads. Then RMS and THD values of the output voltage are studied. Simulation results show that a special conductive angle for each specific power factor has to be used to improve the mentioned indices and applying conventional conductive angles 120º, 180º and 150º in some power factors increases THD and decreases RMS of output voltage.
