Abstract

In this context, this paper proposes a combination of parameterised decision mining and relation sequences to detect wrong indirect relationship in the non-free choice. The existing decision mining without parameter can only detect the direction, but not the correctness. This paper aims to identify the direction and correctness with decision mining with parameter. This paper discovers a graph process model based on the event log. Then, it analyses the graph process model for obtaining decision points. Each decision point is processed by using parameterised decision mining, so that decision rules are formed. The derived decision rules are used as parameters of checking wrong indirect relationship in the non-free choice. The evaluation shows that the checking wrong indirect relationships in non-free choice with parameterised decision mining have 100% accuracy, whereas the existing decision mining has 90.7% accuracy.

Abstract

Currently thermoelectric generators (TEG) are widely used in biomedical, military and space satellite power applications. TEG of high power plants are mostly used in automobile and industrial engines. This paper discusses TEG as a renewable energy source. Here the TEG in the application is used in the thermoelectric generator power plant. The working principle of this thermoelectric generator is on the heat side of the TEG peltier which is coated in metal in the form of aluminum, which is heated by a heater. And the cold side of the TEG Peltier is placed on the heat sink (as a heat dissipation metal). Heatsinks are submerged in water which are submerged about half or more. If the temperature of the metal being heated and the temperature of heat dissipation metal have a certain difference, then the temperature difference causes TEG to start working. The greater the temperature difference, the greater the electrical energy produced will be. However, if the temperature difference is too large it will damage the bismuth semiconductor material used. After TEG starts working it will produce voltage and current.

Abstract

Using a mobile application that is featured with local public transit information can greatly improve user action, as well as assisting travelers to have a better experience while taking public transit services. Crowd environment inside a public transit is one of the most frequent causes that lead difficulties to passengers when they engaging their mobile devices to access their apps or in some conditions. Finding crucial information such as stops points and remaining time to interchanges point when switching to another line becomes more difficult in those conditions especially for foreigners who new in a particular region. This study presents the combination of a mental model and a usability approach to construct a user journey map that led to new insights on user's experiences and challenges when utilizing their mobile local transit application. This valuable information is a part of the elicitation process to propose an alternative interaction method to enhance the usability and travel experience of the public transit app. The experimental results indicate that in contrast to the existing mobile transit app, the proposed interface with the utilization of a wearable device could considerably enhance user action when trying to reach the desired location in terms of total time and performance. It implies that the proposed solution, which works through the mental model and user journey is able to intuitively enhance the public transit app usability.

Abstract

Hardware-in-the-loop simulation is an efficient method for research on radar system.Target’s echo which offered by the simulator should be synchronized with radar on frequency, time, and range bin. However, because simulator needs to take into account of the requirements of various types of radar, it is difficult to make the clock of simulator synchronized with the clock of radar. To solve the problem, synchronous sampling deviation model is established. Influence of sampling deviation on imaging is analyzed. An engineering method is put forward to eliminate the sampling deviation. This method not only provides a reference for simulation system, but also provides a reference for the design of radar system.

Abstract

Medical imaging is very popular research area these days and includes computer aided diagnosis of different diseases by taking digital images as input. Digital retinal images are used for the screening and diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, an eye disease. An automated system for the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy should highlight all signs of disease present in the image and in order to improve the accuracy of the system, the retinal image quality must be improved. In this article, we present a method to improve the quality of input retinal image and we consider this method as a preprocessing step in automated diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy. The preprocessing consists of background estimation and noise removal from retinal image by applying coarse and fine segmentation. We perform extensive results to check the validity of proposed preprocessing technique using standard fundus image database.

Abstract

In order to generate wireless microwave power charging technology in coal mine tunnels, it is necessary to know the power characteristics of wireless electromagnetic wave along the tunnel walls. In this paper, the experimental results of narrowband wireless electromagnetic wave propagation measurements are presented, and a statistical model of the power characteristics at 2.4 GHz in real rectangular mine tunnels is proposed. Two standard half-wave dipole antennas were used to perform the field experiments in tunnels with different wall materials. A 10-meter wireless charging distance belongs to the free-space propagation zone. The path loss exponents rely heavily on the location of the receiver and antenna polarizations. To obtain more power, the locations of the receiver should match the corresponding polarizations.

Abstract

In this paper, multi-feature fusion using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and Local Extensive Binary Pattern (LEBP) was proposed to obtain a feature that could resist degradation problems such as scaling, rotation, translation and varying illumination conditions. SIFT feature had a capability to withstand degradation due to changes in the condition of the image scale, rotation and translation. Meanwhile, LEBP feature had resistance to gray level variations with richer and discriminatory local characteristics information. Therefore the fusion technique is used to collect important information from SIFT and LEBP feature. The resulting feature of multi-feature fusion using SIFT and LEBP feature would be processed by Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) method to determine whether the testing image could be recognized or not. The accuracy value could achieve 97.50%, TPR at 0.9400 and FPR at 0.0128 in optimum condition.  That was a better result than only use SIFT or LEBP feature.

Abstract

Searching techniques significantly determine the speed of getting the information or objects. Finding an object in a set is related to membership checking. In the case of massive data, it needs an appropriate technique to search an object accurately and faster. This research implements searching methods, namely Bloom Filter and Sequential Search algorithms, to find objects in a set of data. It aims to improve our system getting a proper item. Due to the possibility of False-Positive existence as a result of Bloom filter technique, there is a potentially inaccurate representation to object sought. Some parameters are influencing False-Positive, namely the number of objects, available bits, and the number of mapped-bit. A Combination of those parameters could decrease the level of False-Positive and improve their accuracy and faster accessibility. In this research, we use three data object variations with the biggest object size of  2000000. Cached objects used in our experiments is between 2 – 20% of variation from the generated objects. The best results with the lowest False-Positive is a combination of bit = 8, mapped bit = 7, and 6% of cache size from 2000000 generated objects.
