Abstract

Java language as a mother language, has a complicated character, and terraced difficult even for Javanese society itself. The level of complexity in the Java language system is one of the factors that led to the Java language is considered less desirable and not match the needs of the times by the Java community itself. This difficulty is caused by one of the Java language has a complete vocabulary, diction diverse, in one term in Indonesian, can be assorted due to the mention of the Java language that caused chronology. Javanese society has the ability to mark the various forms of work in different terms though just because of small differences. Diction of the diversity of conditions in the Java language ngoko level, ie the level of the language most widely used Java community need for adequate instructional media. One of the gaps that can be addressed in greater depth is how to bring learning the Java language into a form that is easily understood visual communication method is to create a visual dictionary of the Java language.

Abstract

Andhe Andhe Lumut is a folktale that derived from many versions of Panji tales. Andhe Andhe Lumut is the popular one amongst Indonesian, especially Javanese cultures. In popular culture, there are many works in various media that derived from Andhe Andhe Lumut story. Originally, as one of Panji tales, Andhe Andhe Lumut background story takes place at Kediri Kingdom era, but most of visual works like comics, picture story books, animations, drama costumes, etc use far more modern era style of traditional Javanese culture. Beside of that, from original text, Andhe Andhe Lumut folktale is designed for adult audiences, however most Indonesians have identified that folktale is a bedtime story for children. That’s why people can’t find visual works from Andhe Andhe Lumut story for adult audiences. As mentioned before, Panji tales have many versions. They are also already popular since Majapahit era. This is proven by carvings about some scene from Panji tales at Penataran Temple Complex which most of stuctures are built at Majapahit era. Panji tales themselves are semi fictional stories. Prince Panji or Inu Kertapati is inspired from King Kameswara II, seventh king of Kingdom of Kediri, and Princess Candra Kirana is inspired from Queen Kirana from Jenggala, but in Panji tales, their origins are opposite. Panji is from Jenggala and Candra Kirana is from Kediri. Ancient Javanese temple carvings could shows anything, but always showed environmental situations when the carvers live.”Teras Pendopo” building, where Panji tales carvings are located, was built at Majapahit era, when King Hayam Wuruk reigned. It is about 100 years after fall of Kediri, so the carvings are the closest visualization of Kingdom of Kediri daily life.Visualization of Andhe Andhe Lumut folktale based on original text and Panji tales characters at Penataran Temple Complex has never done before. Panji tales at Penataran Temple itself does not tell Andhe Andhe Lumut version of Panji. This comic design, if done properly can gives a new point of view about Andhe Andhe Lumut and can be the first comic of Andhe Andhe Lumut for adult audience with some historical accuracy.

Abstract

Borobudur temple is a heritage of Buddhism culture in Indonesia, which located at Magelang city, Central Java Province. The temple was built at the golden era of Syailendra dynasty, built among 800 AD or around 9th century. Beside known as one of Indonesia’s main tourism destination, it is also a central of Buddhism spiritual religion liturgies and rituals. Borobudur ever was in a tremendous golden era but also the darkness was covered its existence until hundred of years and it’s began to be revealed in the era of colonial. For decades, the rejuvenation and revitalization effort to rebuild the temple back to the original shape been accomplished. Through serious treatments, Borobudur becoming the inspiration source of cultural activities of various aspect that manifested, mainly history, arts, tourism, economy, research, science and also religion. The walls of Borobudur are full of reliefs that picture the Buddhism philosophy, and turn out to be a masterpiece with a high aesthetic in the accession of civilization in its era. Now, beside stated as one of the World Heritages by UNESCO, also 2 titles given to the temple; as the archeology site heritages, the biggest Buddhism temple in the world, and also recorded in Guinness World Records.
