Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of job satisfaction, work environment, and work motivation on employee performance and to determine the role of gender and duration as demographic factors that moderate the relationship between job satisfaction, work environment, work motivation, and employee performance. The object of this study is employees with staff positions working in telecommunications companies to PT. XL Axiata, PT. Indosat Ooredoo, and PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkomsel) located in Jakarta.  This study uses a quantitative approach which will use a questionnaire measuring tool. The total sample of this study was 590 respondents using a simple random sampling technique. To analyze the data used univariate cell means test and multiple linear regression test. The results of this study conclude that job satisfaction, work environment, and work motivation have a significant effect on employee performance. Demographic factors that become moderating have an influence on employee performance, but the exception for male gender is not better than women in job satisfaction, work environment, and work motivation on employee performance, while for work duration more than two years it is better than less than two years in the work environment and work motivation on employee performance, and are inversely related to job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study examines the determining factors and the speed of adjustment of manufacturing firms’ capital structure in Indonesia. This research uses data of 118 listed manufacturing companies from 2014 to 2018 and offers a continuation of Indonesia’s existing literature by applying a dynamic model.  The results reveal that Indonesian manufacturing firms practice optimal capital structure and are altered by firm-specific and time-varying factors. Firms’ decisions regarding capital structure are determined by firm-specific factors: non-debt tax shields, tangibility, and stock price performance. The results also indicate the speed of adjustment does exist, although the speed of adjustment finds lower than in previous research. The slowdown of the manufacturing industry growth from 2014 to 2018 turns out to be in line with the slow pace of leverage adjustment.

Abstract

The results of previous research indicate that novelty-seeking through travel is one of the keys to tourist satisfaction. In the context of tourism, destination image and tourist satisfaction are usually used to predict the revisit intention to certain tourist destinations. This research is designed to study the formation of tourist satisfaction and their motivation to return to Pontianak City based on experiences on previous visits. Novelty-seeking, destination image, and quality of culinary experience are proposed to be predictors of tourist satisfaction and intention to return. The results of the study using SEM-PLS show that basically tourist satisfaction and intention to return are determined by the quality of previous travel experiences and the image of tourist destinations. The coefficient of determination of the quality of the tourist’s culinary experience and the image of the destination in the research model is quite small, therefore it is necessary to carry out further research to identify the factors that influence tourist satisfaction and the intention of returning to visit in the context of tourism.

Abstract

The study investigates how systematic, continuous, and discrete (jump) risk can explain the equity returns in Southeast Asia markets. Using the latest econometric techniques and a high-frequency dataset, I construct two high-frequency betas associated with intraday continuous and discontinuous risk premia. To improve consistency, I employ several statistical robustness levels and multiple frequencies (one minutes, five minutes, ten minutes, and thirty minutes). The findings show that both continuous and discontinuous risk premia are significant and positive in Indonesia, and these results are consistent for lower frequency data samples. Furthermore, the study reveals that diffusive and jump risk premia have different impacts in other countries, but the results are not consistent for lower frequency samples.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to review the literature published from 2010 to 2020 regarding customer-centric strategy in the context of the hospitality industry.  The customer-centric paradigm focuses on creating value for its customers, so it becomes interesting to study in the context of hospitality. This is a literature review research with the Publish or Perish software used to obtain initial data from a total of 235 articles published from 2010-2020 according to the Scopus database. The articles were further analyzed according to the criteria, with only 87 articles. The results showed that a customer-centric strategy is a company strategy that pays attention to consumer wants and needs. The customer-centric approach is similar to the outside-in approach because they pay attention to customers and adjust their complaints to company policies and strategies. This research provides benefits for future studies on customer-centric strategy in the hospitality industry that uses big data analytics to create value for customers. Furthermore, it provides an overview of customer-centric strategy trends in terms of understanding, theoretical perspective, and setting needed for future studies.

Abstract

This research examines heritage image model influence, destination image, experiential quality in influencing tourist behavioral intention in Mandalika Kuta beach Lombok. Mandalika Kuta beaches Lombok as the object, while the subject is foreign tourists.  This research used the Purposive sampling method and 133 respondents as the sample. The tool analysis is using Structural Equation modeling/AMOS. The heritage image and destination image give positive influences to the tourist’s experiential quality; the experiential quality gives positive impacts to the tourist’s revisit intentions. The limitation of this study is that the time to conduct this study is limited, only one month. In addition, the indicators used in this study are limited. This research has a significant practical contribution; Some objectives still focus on providing product-oriented marketing and management practices.

Abstract

This research aims at identifying movie-induced tourism in terms of business related to audience personal motivation using a study on movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (AADC) 2. It uses qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The in-depth interviews from 17 informants are analyzed using conventional content analysis that would later raise the emergent themes to support the identification of movie-induced tourism in the study of AADC 2. The results of this study indicate that AADC 2 has a function to influence audiences traveling decisions on the featured locations after watching the movie, even though the film itself is not intended to promote a particular destination. This study’s audience’s personal motivations are grouped into two, namely general personal motivation and specific personal motivation. The audiences also revealed some additional considerations, such as accessibility and cost, in visiting the locations that influence their travel decision. It would be beneficial for a destination to incorporate filming into destination marketing plans by seeing a good case practice from AADC 2 movie with these results.
