Abstract

The Islamic experience in the modern world reconstitutes the relation between human and God on the basis of the fundamental authority of the holy Quran. Mosque as a symbol, this monument to political power contains some of the most basic contradictions thats characterize Muslim societies in the modern world. A similar distinction applies to the to the morning officialy attributed to the mosque, it maybe “open”, “toleran”, “cosmopolitan”, and “modern” Muslim reformers, embattled governments against increasingly militant oppositional groups which have adopted Islam as an overarching instrument of discourse and struggle. Muslim reformers, activists, and militants nearly always say that theirs is a “movement”, a ‘current” which is still in the process of gestation and evolution. Emancipatory politics is concerned, above all, with themes of justice, equality, and participation, the very same themes that most Muslim reformers are in fact concerned with. Islamic experience involves a redefination of identity in a world which has become homogenized by the globalizing process of modernism The Islamic experience is therefore a call for an emancipatory politics which means justice where there is none, a more egalitarian distribution of wealth and a more democratic system of decision making.

Abstract

AbstractThe book of Tajussalatin is an ethics book. The book is a synthesis of scientific, philosophical and literature essay. Thesubstance of the book is a concept of state power in Islam and how to govern a state. Bukhari explains the concept from “Tasawuf” point of view where the state cannot be described as an individual power of a king, but it is a governmental organization bases on Islamic laws. According to Islamic laws, a king is one level with others. They are representatives of God on the earth and also God servants with each capacities. Thus, the ideal state according Bukhari is the law state bases on Islamic political ethics which is Islamic laws. Therefore, the state needs an institution of justice (qadhi) which has a role in maintaining the state law. According to him, the justice is nothing and non-sense if it is not based on the law which is deeply obeyed by all people. Keywords: Islamic ethics, Tajussalatin, Bukhari al-Jauhari, statepower.

Abstract

The authentic of Pancasila’s formulation has been agreed as was grafted in the preamble of 1945 constitution. However, the problem of interpretation to Pancasila’s content (sila-sila), whether it is an authentic or not is still emerging many questions. In the regime of New Order there was an effort of Pancasila’s meaning standardization through political decision even though there were many reactions to refuse it. The familial relationship is static aspect and mutual-cooperation is dynamic aspect are always serve as a core or keyword for understanding of Indonesian state system. Pancasila as the foundation of Indonesian state is a part of the system of state. Therefore, the content of Pancasila (sila-sila) should be understood from the angel of familial relationship as its core and keyword. The founding fathers intended to form the state that is based on the Indonesian culture. The life of society based on the Indonesian culture is a familial relationship life. The state that is based on the familial relationship is an integral-state which is powerful than the personal-minded or group’s interest in the way of the integral-state acknowledges the extraordinary of such group.

Abstract

This article discusses the cosmological dimension of Universitas Gadjah Mada's Central Building (UCB) to explore the cosmological space in its architecture, how meaning of the space is constructed, and how the vertical and horizontal space division constructs its cosmological structure. The result of study found that the cosmological space dimension of the UCB consists of symbols which represent harmony and balance between the nature, human and God. The UCB was built based on the concept of abstract and symbolical space. The abstract space can be interpreted as a contextualization of harmonism values between human and nature. While the symbolical space can be interpreted as a contextualization of philosophical concept on imaginary line between Hinduism-Buddhism and Java. Relationship between religion and culture of Hinduism-Buddhism and Java had developed and influenced construction of the building. The UCB architecture contains dimension of macrocosm and micro- cosm space.

Abstract

AbstractScheler is a philosopher who argues that philosophy and real life are not inseparable. Scheler does not base his ideas in aspecific scientific procedure and have no an empirical procedure, but uses an intuition to perform a direct relation with the reality. A morality of human being relied into effect of objective values. A value arrested directly pursuant to intuition. The targets of this research are to formulate descriptively a background philosophical theory of Scheler axiology, values essence, and base of an understanding of values, later then formulate analytically an excess and weakness of Scheler axiology, and basic axiology to Indonesian nation in the future. This research is a library research in Philosophy. Source ofdata collected from bibliographic books which related with thematerial object of this research. The material object of this research is theory Scheler about value. The formal object of this research is Axiology. A primarily materials of this research are books have published about Scheler masterpiece in Ethics and value theory. The steps of this research are sort in data collecting, reduce the data, data classification, interpretation, recapitulating, and reporting. Method of data analyze uses the understanding of interpretation and hermeneutic. The result of this research showed that idea of Scheler philosophy is influenced by Husserl phenomenology. Phenomenology represented methods and philosophy. Phenomenology as a method sorts the steps which must be taken to be able to pure phenomenon. Someone have to starting from subject and its awareness and also to return a pure awareness (intuition). Scheler have a notion, that value look of human being because sticked at a reality. Intelligence or mind cannot have a kind of direct link with values. Values express human being through the emotional intuition (consciousness). The principles of axiology are needed in the nation and state guidance so that pluralism can become the nation strength. An understanding of values through life sensitivity is important in answering multiculturalism of Indonesia. The principles of humanity, unity, and contextuality can be accepted with the sensitivity. The principles of unity and contextuality can make an ethnical group comprehend and have empathy to the other ethnical group values. If multiculturalism is understood through the rational approach, it will emerge ‘right and wrong’ justification without consideration of tolerance and empathy. Keywords: philosophy, values, Indonesian, real life.

Abstract

By the end of the twentieth century the meaning of globalization were contested in every where. Not only in the economic or political debate, but it is also in the media. There are two major questions about globalization. Is that unavoided process or just an ideological project from the owner of social power in the world? Critical perspective said that world order not only as a product from the relations between one’s states to the others but also product from the relations between social powers in the world. Include at this point are material, ideological, and institutional power. And the world order formed by the configuration of it. So, in the critical perspective, globalization isn’t a natural or given reality, because any dominant actor in this project. And this actor uses their social power to directing where the globalization goes on. Unfortunatelly, no one’s (states) try to struggle from this condition. They just keep silent in this hegemonic process. The last question is how to solve this problem? And Antonio Gramsci said that war of position and war of maneuver are the ways to solve this problem.
