Abstract

Moral violation among students, from elementary school until high school, is increasing both in quantity and quality. The government has put in effort to overcome this problem through moral and ethic lessons. On the other hand, parents encounter problems in upholding the rules for children. In the other words, parents have not found an effective way to plant moral lessons (Andayani, 2000).An effective form of communication results from the combination of father child and mother chils interaction quality, using persuasive expressions persistently, avoiding physical punishments, and expressions indicating self esteem (Elizabeth and Cardlyn, 1999; Maria, 1999).A qualitative method was used in the case study. The research subjects consist of pre-school students until first graders of 4 to 7 years old. Student’s interaction, both with teachers at school and with parents at home, was observed with structureless observation method, and followed by interview with teachers and parents. The observation settings are as follows : 1) houses; 2) Sunday school; 3) Play group; 4) Taman Siswa Elementary School; 5) Kindergarten.Findings : 1) Toleration, honesty, courage, and forgivingness are moral values which are more often conveyed by teachers to students at school; 2) moral values which are taught concerns more with the completion of school works; 3) not many teachers covey warnings in Javanese language; 4) warnings conducted by parents consist of a more angry characteristic and not of advice; 5) moral value taught at home concerns more with obedience toward parents, disciplinary and diligence. Key words     :   persistent persuasion

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identity factors that influences purchase intention of leather puppet in Javanese ethnic. This research discusses all factors which possibly appear in the responden.The subject of this research are buyers who visit Handicraf Hadi Sukirno especially Javanese people. Theoretical sampling was use in the research. The method of this research is observation method and interview method. The observation was done in 9 respondent and the interview was done on 4 respondent. The guide interview was used in this research.Design of this research is collective case study. Analysis technique this research is thematic analysis technique. The basic theory in this research is Ajzen on this result of this research can be concluded that purchase intention of the leather puppet in Javanese people was influence by External Factor and Internal Factor. The Internal Factor consist of subject appreciation to puppet, subject affection and interest to puppet and culture, product (puppet) image, subject knowledge and perception, value and self concept. The external factors consist of social economic and media information influence. Key words     :    purchasing intention, leather puppet

Abstract

Disparity of Sentences is defined as disparate sentencing toward the relative same criminal cases. The sentencing disparity lead to the rise unsatisfactory feeling. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of the authoritarian personality of The judges to the sentencing disparity.          90 subject of the research were 77 judges and 13 candidate of judges at the court of the first instance in DIY and Centre Java. They should make decision on the same criminal case, and filled the authoritarian scale. The data was analyzed with one way anova.          The result of this research showed that there was large sentencing disparity ( 0 to 126 months) although has been used a similar case. The Authoritarian personality of the judges had effect to the sentencing disparity. The judges with high authoritarian personality give severe sentence than the judges with middle and low authoritarian personality. This research suggested to The Law Department to reduce the authoritarian personality of judges. Keywords :   The sentencing of the judges, the authoritarian personality of judges,  the disparity of sentencing.

Abstract

This study focuses on cognitive aspect of criminal act. Intervention of the criminal thinking patterns merges the cognitive and spirituality principles. This Intervention called Cognitive Spiritual Counseling Program. The objective of this study is to examine the influence of this program to the criminal thinking patterns on women prisoners.The sample consisted of women prisoners who were incarcerated in a county jail in Padang as control group (N = 10) and Bukit tinggi as experimental group ( N = 12). Level of the 10 criminal thinking patterns were assessed by 10 BKB Scale.\The result of ANOVA repeated measure showed that F=3,414, p = 0,020. It means this program was effective to reduced the ten criminal thinking patterns. Three main pillar of this program decreased the level of thinking error were readiness and willingness of the subject, acceptance of the mentor and the material of the program. This program is unique considering it merges the cognitive and spirituality principles to reduced the criminal thinking patterns. This study also successfully revealed some factors that encouraged those criminal thinking patterns after the program. Those factors were included the perception of sentence, society’s judge ment, the environment they live in after the jail and the fulfillment of live necessities. Capitalistic live style also plays in maintaining criminal thinking patterns. We proposed this program would not successfully carried out without any other programs in prisons and should be done continuously so that the number of prisoners would decrease. Key words :  Criminal thinking patterns, Cognitive Spiritual Couneling Program, women prisoners

Abstract

This research airned to compare quality of marriage between subjects who decided to engage in marriage without matching factor. Qualitative method was applied in this research. Five subjects were involve, having criteria such as : 1) married without dating process, 2) married not based on matching factor, 3) this is their first marriage and 4) already having child (ren).Based on research findings it is concluded that religiousty is the basic reason for them in deciding to get married. The quality of their marriage is influenced by adjustment along marriage, husband/wife (couple) evaluation to each other and role distribution. Role distribution is considered as potential source for marriage conflict. Marriage conflict should overcome through communication and social support. It is surprisingly found that marriage conflicts which were well handle and cohesivity were able to strengthen marriage quality. Keywords     :   marriage quality, dating, couple evaluation

Abstract

Mother can give sexual education for their children continuously. Through it children could get attitude and moral values beside information related to. This research aimed to fin out mother’s attitude toward children questions about sexuality. Forty mothers as research subjects were taken from purposive nonrandom sampling procedure. They are whose having pre-teenage children.Data collected through recorded procedure. They are whose having mother-children communication situation.. Research show that mother attitude correspond to children query have 5 variations (1) giving explanation (51,07%); (2) feeling surprised and confused (17,86%); (3) asking children to stop asking (2,14%); (4) postponing answers with assumption that children will find the answers by their own. (12,14%) and (5) changing conversation topics (16,43%). Based on that findings, it is concluded that mothers willingness to give explanation on children question about sexuality indicate their readiness to communicate sexuality topics. Other attitudes indicate mother’s un-readiness to respond on children’s sexuality question. Keywords     :   mothers attitude, children question, sexuality
