Abstract

ABSTRACT The Economic condition, job opportunity, assumption about independent women, and self-satisfaction are the reasons why women work as labors at PT. Blambangan FoodPackers Indonesia. Worked as labors make women have less intensive interaction toward their children because of full working hours. Therefore, it is a need to find the arrangement strategy of parenting model. The aim of this research refer to model of parenting which adopted by women labors and her families to their children. This research will also explain the dissention of parenting model between one woman worker family to the other women worker families. Structural functional theory by Talcott  Parsons was used to analyze the process of parenting model. Qualitative method and descriptive approach was used as a method on this research. The result of this research showed that women labors applied authoritative parenting model/democratic. Temporary parenting model was done by grandmother and grandfather as permissive action/pampered. Structure and function of family play an important role on parenting model where there is cooperation between family members. Women factory workers used parenting model through (1) habituation, (2) exemplary, (3) advice, (4) giving an awards or punishment. Practice of parenting model was also supported by the factory proved on giving policy which facilitate parenting activities, but they should coordinate in advance with the company. Abstract

ABSTRACT   DKPH (Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel) has become one of the company which awares implementing of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) for society and environment around of the company.  CSR has implementation base on community need, not to increase the quality of life like Badung’s regulation  about TJSP (Social Responsibility). Becuase people in Desa Adat Kuta have to capable. This study use a descriptive qualitative method which to see the society of Desa Adat Kuta response of CSR DKPH. And the method along to analyze the form of CSR program that have to implementation by DKPH. This study use observation, interview and document to collect data. Base on research have to conduct by Stakeholder Theory, CSR can be effective for communication tools to mantain the sustainability of the company in the middle of society. Company can stand in the middle of social life, if they listen to people society and  attention to planet (environment) surrounding the company. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang perluasan peran yang dilakukan oleh Desa Adat Kuta. Perluasan peran tersebut diwujudkan dengan upaya peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Desa Adat Kuta. Teori Sistem Tindakan dari Talcott Parsons digunakan sebagai perangkat analisis dalam melihat fenomena sosial yang terjadi pada peran Desa Adat Kuta dalam peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa Desa Adat Kuta dalam upaya untuk menunjukkan eksistensinya, tidak hanya berpaku pada pakem-pakem tradisi yang dianut oleh desa adat pada umunya di Bali. Desa Adat Kuta dalam hal ini melakukan perluasan peran dengan mengadakan serangkaian kegiatan untuk peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia di Desa Adat Kuta. Wujud peran Desa Adat Kuta dalam peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia antara lain dengan mengadakan Festival Seni Budaya Desa serta pengelolaan aset-aset desa adat sehingga memberi keuntungan material yang dapat digunakan dalam peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia maupun pembangunan desa. Kata Kunci: Peran, Desa Adat, Peningkatan Sumber Daya Manusia

Abstract

ABSTRACT Kayuputih village is one of the dozen of villages by the number of large-scale farmers. In Kayuputih village of the many number of small to large sizedfarms, many found cage distance that is nit in accordance whit the Decree of the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry in 1993 No. 77 has been included, it is a farm with human settlements distance of at least 250 meters. This then raises problems because of the disruptionof the activities the society caused by air pollution because of the smell from the farm, environmental contamination caused by the disposal of waste from the farm of the river and the disruption of income traders caused by flies that constantly invade human. This research uses a qualitative approach to get a detailed depiction of conditions in the field. The theory used is the Triangle of Cinflict Galtung theory, this theory is an analytical tool to discover the attitudes, behavior and cntradictions between the farmers an society that underlie conflict. Abstract

ABSTRACT Tajen is a Balinese folk game which exists since a long time ago, however by throwing a bet in this game; it makes tajen very identical to gambling. Moreover it is performed in the temple and this effort will certainly give unfavorable impact on the sanctity of the temple in which it is used as a place to hold tajen, although tajen conducted at the Jaba Sisi (part the outer temple in the concept of tri mandala)still,itwillcause thetemplesuffereddesacralization. On the concept of Kekeran or Concept of the radius of the sanctity of the temple, Kekeran has three approach methods to determine the radius of the sanctity of the temple such as Apeneleg, Apenimpug, Apenyengker in which the most clearly measure as already stated by building a wall around the temple.For Pura Desa, it will usually use apenyengker method (wall boundary), it means the territory of Jaba sisi of the temple is the area that belongs to the sanctity of the temple area therefore for any reason, tajen which is performed in Jaba sisi temple area can reduce the sanctity of its temple. Abstract

ABSTRACT Children who are labored as casual worker to carry their customer’s goods on the head or “tukang suun” at Badung market by their parents are considered as form of child exploitation because those children are labored without regarding to Labor Minister Rule No. 1 Year 1967 about children who are forced to work, boundaries of reasonableness, dan children’s rights. The theory which was used in this research to analyze the problem was Social Interaction Theory (Superordination and Subordination) from Georg Simmel which was supported by his concepts about Individual Awareness and Culture Tragedy. This research used qualitative research method and applied descriptive and case study approach as the research type.  Collecting data is done by observation, deep interview, and study document techniques. The research’s result showed that the reasons of the presence of children as “tukang suun” at Badung market are the low of parental education, poverty, individual encouragement, and the low of public understanding and awereness of the efforts to minimize children labor. Forms of children as “tukang suun” exploitation can be seen from the children’s age, work location, work time, the amount of wages, and violence. This exploitation’s effects are those children do not have any chance to continue their study, bad mental and behavior of those children, and cleanliness less maintenance of children as “tukang suun”. Abstract

ABSTRACT This essay is about the motivation of local Manchester United’s fans in joining UI Bali community. Manchester United is a European elite football team that has so many fans from around the world, including Indonesia. This research is using constructivism approach with social action theory to find out the motivation of UI Bali’s members. This research is a descriptive research using case study method. The data was gathered from interview and observation. The result is explanation about the categorization of behavioral motives of the UI Bali’s members. This was started with the exploration phase of the informants that was obtained from family, friends, and their surroundings, so that they are committed to be a fan of Manchester United. At least, informant’s motives are divided into two category, first early behavioral motive, and secondly, behavioral motive after the informants being a member of UI Bali. researcher found that informants early behavior are mostly based on value rationality, and the rest are based on affective rationality. Then, informants’ continuing motives after joining UI Bali are based on instrumental rationality behavior. This research also found that there are some impacts for the informants after joining this community, that the get some self-developments, such as the expansion of their friendship range, increase of organizational experience, culture uniformity, and love or loyalty to Manchester United are getting stronger. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study to describe the social change at lapindo hot mud victims in Porong, Sidoarjo. Themethod of thisresearch is descriptive qualitative to understand how lapindo hot mud victims make a social change as social subject. To collect the data this research use interview, observation, and documents. The results of this study found that many of lapindo hot mud victims started their life from beginning with built a new social construction as a separated subject from their old social form. Through the reform as a subject, lapindo hot mud victims were capable to build social change within social, economic, and cultural aspects. Keyword :Lapindo Hot Mud, Subject, Social Change

Abstract

ABSTRAK Merariq (Elope) has been a culture for Sasak society. It has special meaning that is to respect a women that cannot be equalized with a thing, furthermore as a character form being a gentleman that able to take care of his wife. But it has been reformatted. A several societies don’t use Merariq but they use purposing to purpose their wife to be as commonly used by most of man that want to marry his woman. Which is this also happened to society in Leneng Village, NTB.  The issue that studied in this project is: 1). How is the process of Merariq in this globalization era?, 2). what is the effect of reformation of the Merariq? . The aim of this research is to answer those issues with applying case study approach furthermore uses qualitative method. The theory that used is social changed (functional) from William F. Ogburn. The result of this research illustrates that Merariq is one of the wedding process of Sasak culture that has reformatted from several other wedding process.  The Sasak wedding process are merariq, merangkat, mesejati, nyelabar/ selabar, bait wali, ngawinang, sorongserah, begawe, nyongkolan and bales ones nae. From those processes, several of them that have been reformatted are merariq, nyelabar, sorongserah, begawe, and nyongkolan. This reformation causes both negative and positive effect for the society. The positive effect is reducing early marriage number and reducing conflict that caused by the Merariq. In another hand, the negative effect makes a gap among society’s relationship. Abstract

ABSTRACT   Waerebo village is a traditional village located in the village Satar Lenda, District Satar Mese West, Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Waerebo villgae is the only one village in Manggarai are still keeping the legacy custom and culture in the world that is under development by globalization and modernization. One of the customs and cultural heritage that is still maintained by the community Waerebo is customary institutions. Until now, the traditional institutions in the Waerebo village still exist and still performing their duties and functions in society. In this paper will explain about the customs agency of Waerebo village were able to survive in the mids of globalization and modernization.
