Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to explain the role of six party talks in United States and North Korea negotiation process. There are many diplomacy issues between United States and North Korea, one of the hot issues that were on discussed was the issue of the inclusion of North Korea in the black list of the state sponsors of terrorism that maked by the United States. Various negotiations have been carried out by the two countries to achieve the mutual agreement, one of the negosiations which that was held between the two countries are the negotiations that involving the six party talks. In this case, I put more emphasis on the role of the six party talks in the negotiations between United States and North Korea to reach a mutual agreement between the two countries. Abstract

ABSTRAK Fair trade sebagai sebuah sistem perdagangan alternatif dari free trade memperkenalkan nilai-nilai moral kepada sebuah sistem perdagangan yang berguna bagi produsen, konsumen dan lingkungan. Lingkungan di dalam sistem perdagangan adalah sebuah sumber daya namun juga mendapatkan dampak negative dari perdagangan. Sebuah yayasan amal The Body Shop Foundation yang dibentuk oleh perusahaan kecantikan multinasional The Body Shop Internasional adalah salah satu lembaga donor yang mendukung fair trade sesuai dengan nilai-nilai moral yang juga diterapkan oleh perusahaan induknya. Dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka yang bersumber dari website, jurnal, dan berita, penelitian ini memaparkan bentuk dukungan The Body Shop Foundation yang diwujudkan khususnya di bidang lingkungan. Total bantuan yang telah diberikan anggota dari WFTO Association Organization ini kepada lebih dari 20 LSM lokal di seluruh dunia adalah lebih dari 100 juta poundstering selama tahun 2010-2013. Kata kunci : Fair Trade, lingkungan, The Body Shop Foundation, bantuan dana.

Abstract

ABSTRAK This paper found that the making of Japanese foreign policy related to trade sector in Southeast Asia in the era of the leadership of Junichiro Koizumi. This topic is interesting, because until the mid-1990s, Japan committed to making the policy of multilateralism and reject the free trade agreements, because they assume the free trade agreement is not in accordance with the GATT / WTO. But in the era of Junichiro Koizumi changed the emphasis of economic cooperation to "act together and move forward together" with ASEAN and establish the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) as the beginning of the establishment for the Free Trade Agreement. In this paper the author will examine the making of Japanese foreign policy-related trade in Southeast Asia in the era of the leadership of Junichiro Koizumi. With a locus of time in the 1998-2002, after Asian crisis in 1997 and the signing of the "Joint Declaration on the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership". This paper will explorate using Model II: Organizational Process by Graham T. Allison with the initial assumption that the change of foreign policy in the economic field in Japan is the result of the government organization in Japan which is influenced by external factors at that time and the list options which produced by the organization. Abstract

ABSTRACT Drug trafficking is a form of cross-border crime and a serious threat to global security. Drug trafficking activities carried out by the Mexican drug trafficking organization has led to a variety of security instability in Mexico and cause spillover into the United States. The efforts made the United States and Mexico to combat drug trafficking through the Merida Initiative refers to the United Nations against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances 1988 Bilateral cooperation United States and Mexico also involve the United States law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and DEA. Therefore, this research aimed to describe the role of the United States by the FBI and DEA in the fight against drug trafficking in Mexico. Abstract

ABSTRACT Child labour is one of the human rights violation issue that is faced by the international community today. Indonesia is a country that still has to face the problem of child labour. ILO as an international organization initiates an international program for the elimination of child labour and participates in assisting government’s efforts in tackling child labour in Indonesia. One of ILO’s efforts is done through the EAST Project. This study aims to describe the role of ILO in effort to prevent and to eliminate child labor in Indonesia through Education and Skills Training Program for Youth in Indonesia (EAST). This study will be assessed by using the theories and concepts of International Organizations, Child Labour, and Development Intervention, with the locus from 2006 to 2011 which is the period for ILO - EAST Project held in Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRACT   The civil war that occurred in China between the Communists and the Nationalists won by the Communists controlled mainland China as well. Nationalists were defeated, out of China and Taiwan as well as occupying three islands off the coast that Jinmen, Mazu, and Dazhen. Communist China tried to invade Taiwan and the third island away from the other coast to complement China. Conflict occurs when crossing the Communists attempted to occupy Taiwan, while Taiwan wants to be independent. Since going on the Taiwan Strait conflict, China and Taiwan are closed to each other each "opponent" they are. This of course results in China and Taiwan as it were a separate region. China does not want Taiwan to be its own country (independent) so that invade Taiwan to be able to invade Taiwan back. However, be aware that through the invasion of China, Taiwan is not going back to China. Plus, the encouragement of international conflict between the two countries so that this can be resolved by peaceful means. To that end, China's approach to Taiwan through "initiatives Beijing" as an attempt reunification of Taiwan. At that time, the conflict in the Taiwan Strait was a quiet period. Peace of the Taiwan Strait period circa 1962-1994. Taiwan reunification efforts can be evaluated from the activity of the Taiwan Strait, especially in economic relations. Abstract

ABSTRACT Asian financial crisis in 1997 marked as a momentum of new cooperation in East Asia especially on financial sector. Several arrangements were established during and after the crisis. In 2000, the ASEAN countries along with China, Japan, and South Korea launched Chiang Mai Initiative (CMI) as a financial assistance through bilateral swap agreements among members. This achievement shows the changing foreign policy of China since its rejection of Asian Monetary Fund (AMF) proposed by Japan during the crisis. This changing behavior of China is related to its relative position compared to Japan’s at that time. Due to that, Japan in this case remains as the key factor of China’s foreign policy decision making in East Asia. Using rational actor model and the concept of national interest, this research aims to analyze the changing foreign policy of China by joining CMI as its response to Japan. Abstract

This research aims to describe the impact of foreign direct investment PT Bening Big Tree Farms in Klungkung regency. Klungkung is one of the regencies in Bali that has a traditional salt processing industry for the region of East Bali . The influx of foreign investment by PT Bening Big Tree Farms has made Klungkung now not only have the traditional salt processing industry , but also the modern salt processing industry . Klungkung able to do so because the policy of regional autonomy that has been applied in Indonesia in 1999. In this research, writer use the concept of regional autonomy and foreign direct investment .

Abstract

ABSTRAK Environmental issues have become an International Primary agenda. The high threat from global warming and the destructive actions increase the risk of damage to the marine environment and coral reefs. Regarding that issue, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) play important role in developing sustainability of the marine environment. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is one of International NGO that paying attention on environmental issues in Indonesia by creating Coral Triangle Center (CTC) program in 2000. TNC has made various efforts in the conservation of coral reefs and coastal environment in the waters of Nusa Penida, Bali. That effort consist of public education, capacity building, and increasing public environmental awareness, research marine resources, and initiating a policy through the conservation area. Furthermore, The Nature Conservancy has helped local communities to initiate a policy that supports the conservation of coral reefs and coastal environment in the waters of Nusa Penida Bali. Abstract

ABSTRACK This study is aimed at describing ECPAT’s role and strategies to prevent and eliminate CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand.  Tourism in Thailand has given the negative impact, which is CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. ECPAT, as the NGO that has visions and missions to combat CSEC, then seeks to eliminate all forms of CSEC in Thailand.This study describes the role of ECPAT to eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand and which strategies used by ECPAT to prevent and eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. This research has found ECPAT as an organisation has certain roles as an agenda setter, educator and also counterpart in order to eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. This study used qualitative methodelogy and examined by using Civil Society Organisations and Transnationalism as concepts and theory within 2005 to 2012 as timeline.
