Abstract

ABSTRAK Timor-Leste as a relatively young country needs foreign aid to develop it’s agricultural sector especially sustainable agriculture. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is Japanese Government development agency that distributes Official Development Asistance (ODA) bilaterally to Government of Timor-Leste. One of the assistance that provided by JICA to the Timor-Leste is Study Community-Based Integrated Watershed Management in Laclo and and Comoro River Basins which classified as technical cooperation. This assistance is provided in order to assist the sustainable agriculture in Timor-Leste .The aim of this research to describe the Efforts of JICA in the implementation of ODA to build the agricultural sector in Timor-Leste as a proponent of the peacebuilding process in Timor-Leste through the Study Community-Based Integrated Watershed Management in Laclo and and Comoro River Basins in the year 2005-2010. Abstract

ABSTRACT Writer conducted this study has the purpose to describe the dynamics of counter-terrorism cooperation between Australia and Indonesia in tackling the threat of terrorism in Indonesia from 2002 to 2008 was a qualitative research study using the methods of literary study, internet, and print and electronic media. The first Bali bombing into the background between the two countries in counter-terrorism cooperation. That's because, first Bali bombing in the majority of the victims are Australian and Indonesia people. In this study it was found that the dynamics of counter-terrorism cooperation between the two countries look more closely with the signing of the Lombok Treaty as the legal basis of the two countries in the bilateral relations. The cooperation of these two countries forged reap positive results on the handling of terrorism cases in Indonesia. Cooperation can improve the capacity and capability as well as the role of the Indonesian police in exposing teorrism network in Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRACT Fair trade as an alternative trading system of free trade introducing moral values ??to a trading system that is useful for producers, consumers and the environment. Environment in the trading system is a resources, but also get a negative impact on trade. A multinational beauty company The Body Shop International is a company that supports fair trade in accordance with moral values of the company. By using the method of literature sourced from websites, journals, and news, this study describes the shape of the support of The Body Shop, which is manifested especially in the field of environment,  seen through its business activities , the company's internal and external (community fair trade The Body Shop . Through an external company, The Body Shop has been doing various activities such as Wood Positive, Wood Sourcing Policy, and several activities in the community fair trade (Kuapa Kokoo, Ghana and Candela, Peru) . Abstract

ABSTRAK This research describesthe national interest of the United State  in providing foreign aid to Taiwan. Foreign aid from the United Statebegan in 1951 until 1965. After Taiwan decided for ourselves, the state of the economy in Taiwan is still not stable. Therefore, the United State give foreign aid to help the growth of the economy of Taiwan. This would help the United state maintain stability in the Taiwan economy thus simplifying the process of democratization. Keywords : foreign aid, national interest, democratization

Abstract

ABSTRAK Meksiko merupakan negara pemasok utama drugs atau obat-obatan terlarang ke Amerika Serikat. Salah satu tindakan Amerika Serikat dalam mengatasi peredaran drugs ini adalah dengan memberikan bantuan luar negeri kepada Meksiko. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan Amerika Serikat menggunakan kebijakan memberikan bantuan luar negeri kepada Meksiko dalam memerangi drugs. Transnational crime dan foreign aid adalah dua teori yang dipakai untuk membahas permasalahan dari tulisan ini. Metode penulisan yang dipakai adalah metode kepustakaan dengan menggunakan buku, jurnal online dan internet. Aktivitas illegal berawal dari Meksiko sebagai negara produsen dan jalur perdagangan drugs dimana kartel-kartel negara tersebut melewati batas-batas kedua negara dalam menjual drugs ke konsumen di Amerika Serikat. Aktivitas ini seringkali diwarnai tindakan kejahatan. Akibatnya mengancam keamanan kedua negara.  Situasi demikian membuat pemimpin kedua negara bertemu dan menghasilkan Prakarsa Merida atau Initiative Merida. Tindakan dari Initiative Merida adalah dengan memberikan bantuan kepada Meksiko. Bantuan ini bertujuan untuk memerangi peredaran obat-obatan terlarang. Kata kunci: Drugs, Transnational Crime, Foreign Aid dan Initiative Merida

Abstract

ABSTACK Thailand is the  only country in Southeast Asia that had never been colonized. But Thailand was inseparable from the problem of the country’s internal conflict. The conflict happened between the Government of Thailand with a Muslim minority ethnic Malays in Southern Thailand. Conflict caused by ethno-nationalism movement which happened for a century and more drawn out. In southern Thailand, tension and violence occured every day. The conflict was capable considered  of threatening national security and forced the Thai government to take more serious action in response. This study aimed to describe the action taken by Thai government in response to ethno-nationalism movement in Southern Thailand in 2004 – 2006. The research method that used was  descriptive qualitative. Ethno-nationalism and coercive measures were the concept that  used to discuss this study. Abstract

ABSTRACT Nowadays, every country in order to fulfill their national interest, they will not only focused on their military or economic power but also their cultural influence. The cultural aspect is viewed as one of power sources that have great influence. Japan is one of the countries that regularly do cultural diplomacy. Japan believes that cultural approachment could build a good relations between Japanand other countries. Recently,Japan’s cultural diplomacy tend to use it’s pop-culture such as manga, anime, fashion, cosplay or Japan’s popular music. One of Japan’s cultural diplomacy activities that using Japan’s popular culture is World Cosplay Summit (WCS). This research aimed to described Japan’s cultural diplomacy activity that using Japan’s popular culture to strengthened Japan’s positive image through WCS event that held in Nagoya in the year of 2003-2014 with refer to elements from soft power currencies concept. Abstract

ABSTRAK Kiribati is a small country with low lying islands that is in danger of being completely flooded within 60 years because of the rising sea level. It has been predicted that the islands of Kiribati will not inhabitable anymore in 30 years from now. Despite of the environmental problems, Kiribati is also encountering an extreme poverty and unemployment problems. The iKiribati have no choice but to migrate to another before Kiribati becomes uninhabitable. The government of Kiribati has announced a policy called “migration with dignity” to prepare the migration of iKiribati. Australia help Kiribati by granting a scholarship program to iKiribati which allows them to study nurse in Australia. This research is concerned with how the KANI’s program could help prepare iKiribati migrate  by using the Human Capital Theory and the foreign aid concept. Abstract

ABSTRACK Ethnic conflict is one of the most frequent forms of conflict that arises after the desolation of the Soviet Union. Ethnic differences between regions in the former Soviet Union is a major cause of ethnic conflict. Nagorno-Karabakh is one of territory of the former Soviet Union that face ethnic conflict. Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as the world’s largest regional security thinks the need to do the mediation of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict involving Armenia and Azerbaijan through its institution, OSCE Minsk Group. OSCE Minsk Group co-chaired by United States of America, France, and Russia. This study aims to describe OSCE Minsk Group’s role as mediator in the conflict of Nagorno-Karabakh. Abstract

ABSTRACT The focus of this study is conflict transformation efforts undertaken by Search for Common Ground Organization in Dongo Conflict, Democratic Republic of Congo, from 2010 to 2013. This research is qualitative descriptive interpretive. The result of this  research shows that peace education can be a means to transform the communal conflict in a region. SFCG transform the Dongo conflict by implementing peace education through dialogue, media, and community. These efforts then opened the door for positive peace in Dongo.
