Abstract

ABSTRAK Fair trade sebagai sebuah sistem perdagangan alternatif dari free trade memperkenalkan nilai-nilai moral kepada sebuah sistem perdagangan yang berguna bagi produsen, konsumen dan lingkungan. Lingkungan di dalam sistem perdagangan adalah sebuah sumber daya namun juga mendapatkan dampak negative dari perdagangan. Sebuah yayasan amal The Body Shop Foundation yang dibentuk oleh perusahaan kecantikan multinasional The Body Shop Internasional adalah salah satu lembaga donor yang mendukung fair trade sesuai dengan nilai-nilai moral yang juga diterapkan oleh perusahaan induknya. Dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka yang bersumber dari website, jurnal, dan berita, penelitian ini memaparkan bentuk dukungan The Body Shop Foundation yang diwujudkan khususnya di bidang lingkungan. Total bantuan yang telah diberikan anggota dari WFTO Association Organization ini kepada lebih dari 20 LSM lokal di seluruh dunia adalah lebih dari 100 juta poundstering selama tahun 2010-2013. Abstract

ABSTRACT Child labour is one of the human rights violation issue that is faced by the international community today. Indonesia is a country that still has to face the problem of child labour. ILO as an international organization initiates an international program for the elimination of child labour and participates in assisting government’s efforts in tackling child labour in Indonesia. One of ILO’s efforts is done through the EAST Project. This study aims to describe the role of ILO in effort to prevent and to eliminate child labor in Indonesia through Education and Skills Training Program for Youth in Indonesia (EAST). This study will be assessed by using the theories and concepts of International Organizations, Child Labour, and Development Intervention, with the locus from 2006 to 2011 which is the period for ILO - EAST Project held in Indonesia. Abstract

ABSTRAK Environmental issues have become an International Primary agenda. The high threat from global warming and the destructive actions increase the risk of damage to the marine environment and coral reefs. Regarding that issue, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) play important role in developing sustainability of the marine environment. The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is one of International NGO that paying attention on environmental issues in Indonesia by creating Coral Triangle Center (CTC) program in 2000. TNC has made various efforts in the conservation of coral reefs and coastal environment in the waters of Nusa Penida, Bali. That effort consist of public education, capacity building, and increasing public environmental awareness, research marine resources, and initiating a policy through the conservation area. Furthermore, The Nature Conservancy has helped local communities to initiate a policy that supports the conservation of coral reefs and coastal environment in the waters of Nusa Penida Bali. Abstract

ABSTRACK This study is aimed at describing ECPAT’s role and strategies to prevent and eliminate CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand.  Tourism in Thailand has given the negative impact, which is CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. ECPAT, as the NGO that has visions and missions to combat CSEC, then seeks to eliminate all forms of CSEC in Thailand.This study describes the role of ECPAT to eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand and which strategies used by ECPAT to prevent and eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. This research has found ECPAT as an organisation has certain roles as an agenda setter, educator and also counterpart in order to eliminates CSEC by foreign tourists in Thailand. This study used qualitative methodelogy and examined by using Civil Society Organisations and Transnationalism as concepts and theory within 2005 to 2012 as timeline. Abstract

ABSTRAK Timor-Leste as a relatively young country needs foreign aid to develop it’s agricultural sector especially sustainable agriculture. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is Japanese Government development agency that distributes Official Development Asistance (ODA) bilaterally to Government of Timor-Leste. One of the assistance that provided by JICA to the Timor-Leste is Study Community-Based Integrated Watershed Management in Laclo and and Comoro River Basins which classified as technical cooperation. This assistance is provided in order to assist the sustainable agriculture in Timor-Leste .The aim of this research to describe the Efforts of JICA in the implementation of ODA to build the agricultural sector in Timor-Leste as a proponent of the peacebuilding process in Timor-Leste through the Study Community-Based Integrated Watershed Management in Laclo and and Comoro River Basins in the year 2005-2010. Abstract

ABSTRACT Fair trade as an alternative trading system of free trade introducing moral values ??to a trading system that is useful for producers, consumers and the environment. Environment in the trading system is a resources, but also get a negative impact on trade. A multinational beauty company The Body Shop International is a company that supports fair trade in accordance with moral values of the company. By using the method of literature sourced from websites, journals, and news, this study describes the shape of the support of The Body Shop, which is manifested especially in the field of environment,  seen through its business activities , the company's internal and external (community fair trade The Body Shop . Through an external company, The Body Shop has been doing various activities such as Wood Positive, Wood Sourcing Policy, and several activities in the community fair trade (Kuapa Kokoo, Ghana and Candela, Peru) . Abstract

ABSTRAK This article describes the efforts of the European Union to promote Roma social integration in Romania since 2010 until 2014. Under descriptive-qualitative approach, this study mostly uses literature study technique. Conceptual framework that used are ethnicity, social discrimination, positive action and social integration promotion by international organization. The result of this research shows that European Union promotes Romania’s Roma social integration by providing positive action design, funding and giving administrative capacity support. Abstract

ABSTRAK Venezuela nationalized the assets that had been managed by the multinational corporations (MNC). However, Venezuela decide to keep the relations between the MNCs by making negotiations with them. One of the MNCs that responded to the negotiation is Chevron which was the only American company involved in the negotiation. The purpose of this study is to describe the interests of Venezuela to reopen foreign direct investment from Chevron. This study examined the concept of national interest and foreign policy. National interest is affected by economic, ideology and the power. While, foreign policy is affected by economic and ideology factors. This research used descriptive qualitative method and library research in the data collecting. The delimitation of this research is between 2007 to 2013. This study found that Venezuelan interest to reopen FDI from Chevron was influenced by the interests of Venezuela to improve the life of its people through increasing production, preventing decrease in production through exploration, benefiting from technology transfer, increasing exports, encouraging work opportunities, and improving the experience of Venezuela student through internship program. Chevron also contributed to the growth of education, economic development, health, and cultural in Venezuela. Keywords : Foreign Direct Investment, Venezuela, Chevron, National Interest

Abstract

ABSTRAK The piracy of US products in China has caused economic loss to business sector in the US. In responding the issue, the US Goverment formed USTR as the US trade representative abroad. The obligation and responsibility is to monitor US company investment and report IPR violation overseas. This US found that China is not consistent with its commitments to the WTO membership. This study aims to describe the efforts made USTR in protecting the nationalinterest of the US in China regarding of IPR protection from 2007 until 2009. This study was using qualitative descriptive method and the concept of national interest, coercive diplomacy, foreign policy and the protection of intellectual property rights. This research found that the USTR has made efforts to negotiate, evolution, control, and monitoring the problems of piracy of US products in China. Keywords: USTR, US, Chinese, IPR

Abstract

ABSTRAK Nowadays,  development is one of the important aspects and have  been an international agenda. In 2004, Indonesia was hit by tsunami that caused damage to various aspects of life in Aceh, it certainly would hamper development in Indonesia. This disaster attracted sympathy from other countries to assist Indonesia in reconstruction  of Aceh post tsunami. One of them is Australia with its development agency AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development). AusAID as the Australian government development agencies that play roles in international development. AusAID as the Australian development agency has provided ODA (Official Development Assistance) bilaterally to Indonesia. The aid later formed a partnership AIPRD (Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Reconstruction and Development) aimed at the develop and reconstruction of Aceh after the disaster. This aid distributed to develop all sectors such as education, health, governance, livelihoods, housing and infrastructure. This study aims to describe the roles of Australia in the process of development and reconstruction of Aceh post tsunami through AIPRD program in the year 2005-2009.
