Abstract

The river is a place or container and drainage networks ranging from the spring to the estuary with restricted right and left and all flow . The aim of this study was to quantify the sediment drift (suspended load ) that occurs in the mouth of the River Candles and comparing the calculation results with the results that were in the field. The research methodology used to calculate how much sediment is in the mouth of the wax by means of analyzing the data using the approach and Kalinske Lane , Einstein 's approach , and the approach Chang , Simons , and Richardson , so as to estimate how large the sedimentation in the estuary of the river due to the flow of the river . The results of the calculations for the discharge of sediment drift ( qsw ) on a piece of 1 ( STA 0 ) with Lane and Kalinske approach is 0.0107 ( kg / s ) / m , with Einstein's approach is 0.00457 ( kg / s ) / m , and with approach Chang , Simons , and Richardson is 0.000519 ( kg / s ) / m . While the 5 piece ( STA 4 ) the results obtained by Lane and Kalinske approach is 0.0102 ( kg / s ) / m , with Einstein's approach is 0.00679 ( kg / s ) / m , and with the approach of Chang , Simons , and Richardson value is 0.000696 ( kg / s ) / m . The results of the comparison with the calculation of sediment discharge drift field percentage obtained for the method of Lane and 40.78 % Kalinske pieces 1 ( STA 0 ) and 43.17 % 5 pieces ( STA 4 ) , for the method of Einstein by 74.61 % chunks 1 ( STA 0 ) and 62.28 % 5 pieces ( STA 4 ) , and for the method of Chang , Simons , and Richardson 97.12 % chunks 1 ( STA 0 ) and 99.61 % 5 pieces ( STA 4 ) . From the comparison of the percentage of sediment discharge hovering close to the ground is the result of using the Lane and by 40.78 % Kalinske pieces 1 ( STA 0 ) and 43.17 % 5 pieces ( STA 4 )Key Words : Sedimentation, Suspended Load, Lane and Kalinske approach, Einstein's approach, approach Chang ,  Simons , and Richardson approach .

Abstract

Penurunan dan rendahnya daya dukung tanah merupakan salah satu faktor penyebab kerusakan pada kontruksi bangunan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan stabilitas tanah agar kerusakan dapat dicegah. Dalam penelitian ini dibahas tentang stabilisasi tanah pada lempung lunak menggunakan abu tandan sawit dan gipsum ditinjau dari nilai CBR tanah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode laboratorium yang dilakukan di laboratorium Mekanika Tanah, Jurusan Teknik Sipil, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Sriwijaya dengan  menggunakan alat uji CBR. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penambahan abu tandan sawit dan gipsum dengan variasi masing-masing 5%, 7,5%, dan 10% terhadap nilai CBR pada tanah lempung lunak. Dari hasil analisis didapatkan penambahan abu tandan sawit dan gipsum dapat meningkatkan nilai CBR pada tanah lempung lunak. Persentase campuran yang dapat meningkatkan nilai CBR paling maksimal ada pada persentase 7,5% abu tandan sawit dan 10% gipsum dengan peningkatan sebesar 126,88% pada masa perawatan 7 hari.   Kata Kunci: CBR, abu tandan sawit, gipsum, tanah lempung lunak

Abstract

Sand or the coarse grained soil is one type of soil that often causes problems in civil engineering working.  The weakness of this soil is not having holding capacity each other. Sand is a kind of non-cohesive soil means has loose characteristic.  This characteristic can be repaired by gradation suitable or mixed with the other type of soil that can make its shear strength increased. Clay soil A-7 is one type of soil that has smooth grain and cohesive characteristic. Clay soil A-7 is a plasticity soil that has high volume changed characteristic showed by its loose percentage on sieve no.200 is more than 35%. The clay soil A-7 added into this research was 0%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The observation used direct shear by standard compaction proctor. The result showed that the addition of clay soil A-7 had significant effect on the river sand shear strength. The maximum cohesion score was obtained on 25% clay soil A-7 at 32,197 KPa, the maximum internal friction angle score was obtained on 15% clay soil A-7 at 38,15° and the maximum shear strength score was obtained on 15% clay soil A-7 at 156,295 KPa. Abstract

Planning sidewalks within the campus of the University of Sriwijaya in Inderalaya is idea in developing and providing space on the campus of pedestrian walkways, especially sidewalks is one of the typologies of pedestrian space. Occured Conflicts between pedestrians with vehicles as road users because pedestrian space is still minim in the campus environment so need for planning in providing a pedestrian space. In this study, the beginning of a planning study conducted observations pedestrian sidewalk that is within the campus environment, especially on the point that a lot of the number of pedestrians and frequent the presence of pedestrian activity, further research is assisted with example the planning of a university that had planned pedestrian space well such as the university of alabama as a reference in planning pedestrian path space. Based on the results of studies and surveys on the campus submitted that the pedestrian is in the campus as a mode of transport dominate the activity in the neighborhood Sriwijaya University, 6-10 minutes travel time, support facilities pedestrian is a seating of pedestrian that become the attention of user, the overall of the pedestrian within the campus of the University of Sriwijaya agreed with the plan provision and development of pedestrian walkways as space for pedestrian.
