Abstract

AbstractThis study examined the mediating role of distributive and procedural justice in linking transformational leadership and job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention. Survey data was consisted of 370 employees from 60 institutions of Islamic microfinance in Central Java, Indonesia. The empirical tests indicated that transformational leadership has significant effect on procedural and distributive justice. Also, distributive and procedural justice has significant effect on all the three work outcomes. Furthermore, distributive justice was found to have mediation effect in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment and job satisfaction, but not for turnover intention. However, the study did not find any significant mediating effect of procedural justice on the relationship between transformational leadership and job satisfaction and turnover intention, but significant on organizational commitment. Keywords:transformational leadership, distributive justice, procedural justice, organizational commitment, job satisfaction and turnover intention.AbstrakStudi ini meneliti peran mediasi dari keadilan distributif dan prosedural dalam hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan kepuasan kerja, komitmen organisasi dan turnover intention. Survei dilakukan terhadap 370 karyawan dari 60 lembaga keuangan mikro Islam di Jawa Tengah, Indonesia. Tes empiris menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keadilan prosedural dan distributif. Juga, keadilan distributif dan prosedural memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan pada tiga hasil pekerjaan yakni kepuasan kerja, komitmen organisasi dan turnover intention. Selain itu, keadilan distributif ditemukan memiliki efek mediasi dalam hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan komitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja, tetapi tidak untuk turnover intention. Namun, studi ini tidak menemukan efek mediasi keadilan prosedural yang signifikan pada hubungan antara kepemimpinan transformasional dan kepuasan kerja dan turnover intention, tetapi signifikan pada komitmen organisasi. Kata kunci:kepemimpinan transformasional, keadilan distributif, keadilan prosedural, komitmen organisasi, kepuasan kerja dan niat omset.

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the difference in the rate of efficiency between the group of Syariah Bank with the group of conventional Banks in Indonesia during 2003 and 2004. To analyze the rate of efficiency indicated by the Rate of Return (ROE), the research uses three factors namely Profit Margin (PM), Asset Utilization (AU) and Equity Multiplier (EM). The research was based on secondary data consisted of finan¬cial reports collected from the said two group of banks, comprising 4 Syariah Bank and 4 Conventional Banks, for the period of 2003 and 2004.The tools of analysis used in the research consisted of two methods. The first was variance test analy¬sis for the average of ROE between the two groups of banks. The second was regression analysis applied for each group of banks. In this model, the factors i.e. PM, AU and EM were estimated to influence the ROE.The result of the research showed that the ROE of Syariah Bank was significantly difference with the ROE of Conventional Banks. In this result the standard deviation of ROE of Syariah Banks was smaller than con¬ventional banks. Further, the result indicated that PM, AU and EM of Syariah Bank were significantly influenced to ROE. Meanwhile, the three factors were not significantly influenced to ROE of Conventional Banks.In order to get the better result in the next research of this topic, the number of samples should be greater and it is suggested to apply the other method of analysis like discriminate analysis. Abstract

Abstract The aim of this study is to develop a model of entrepreneurship education linkages (EEP) on attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control which influences the intention to define entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial behavior. The research was conducted in three areas; Surakarta, Sragen and Karanganyar. Respondents in this study are artisans of batik with SEM analysis. The analysis showed that: 1). Entrepreneurship education program (EEP) gave the positive effect on entrepreneurial attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control 2). Entrepreneurial attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control gave positive influences on the intention to entrepreneurship, 3). Intention to entrepreneurship has no effects on entrepreneurial behavior, 4). Satisfaction has a positive effect on innovation performance satisfaction, 5). Target entrepreneurial behavior has no effect on the satisfaction of performance.Keywords: EEP, intention to entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior, satisfaction innovation, satisfaction performance.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model keterkaitan program pendidikan kewirausahaan (EEP) pada sikap, norma subyektif, persepsi kontrol perilaku dan selanjutnya mem¬pengaruhi niat untuk berwirausaha dan menentukan target perilaku berwirausaha. Penelitian ini juga menguji dan mengembangkan model program pendidikan kewirausahaan (EEP) pada ke¬puasan inovasi serta pada kepuasan kinerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan di wilayah: Kota Surakarta, Kabupaten Sragen, dan Kabupaten Karanganyar. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah perajin batik, dengan alat analisis SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: 1). Program pendidikan kewirausahaan (EEP) berpengaruh positif pada sikap kewirausahaan, norma subyektif, persepsi kontrol perilaku serta kepuasan inovasi 2). Sikap kewirausahaan, norma subyektif dan persepsi kontrol perilaku berpengaruh positif pada niat untuk berwirausaha, 3). Niat untuk berwirausaha tidak berpengaruh pada target perilaku berwirausaha, 4). Kepuasan inovasi berpengaruh positif pada kepuasan kinerja, 5). Target perilaku berwirausaha tidak berpengaruh pada kepuasan kinerja.Kata kunci: EEP, niat, kepuasan inovasi, perilaku berwirausaha, kepuasan kinerja.

Abstract

Dalam khasanah literatur tentang perilaku konsumen masih sulit ditemui bab yang membicarakan secara khusus tentang prosedur dan teknik penelitian yang bisa mengungkap motivasi konsumen untuk membeli suatu produk/merek tertentu. Untuk mengurangi kelemahan itu, tulisan ini mencoba memberi tambahan wacana penelitian motivasi konsumen dengan mengajukan alternatif pengukuran data yang disesuaikan dengan pendekatan teori motivasi yang digunakan.Dibahas pula teknik analisis statistika untuk memanfaatkan data yang berhasil diperoleh serta implikasi hasilnya dalam pemasaran, sehingga dapat membantu dalam pengambilan kesimpulan penelitian.Kata kunci: Perilaku konsumen, motivasi konsumen.

Abstract

AbstractInvolvement in both work and family domain, by men and womesn, may create work and family conflict that induce voluntary turnover. Unfortunately, most studies relating to both voluntary turnover and work and family conflict has been conducted in Western context. This research aims to examine the impact of demographic variables (gender, age, marital status and domestic support) on work and family conflict and turnover intention, undertaken in Indonesia, a country with high score of collectivism and patriarchal culture. The participants (N = 1.122) of this research are employees of the Indonesian banking industry which were drawn conviniently. Regression method was utilized to test hypotheses. Results showed that only marital status significantly affect both work to family conflict and family to work conflict. However, marital status did not significantly influence turnover intention. Age significantly, but in opposite direction, influenced turnover intention. This result was unexpected. Theoretical explanation was discussed.Keywords: turnover intention, work to family conflict, family to work conflict, demographic variables.AbstrakKeterlibatan laki-laki dan perempuan di dunia kerja dan rumah tangga dapat mungkin menimbulkan masalah serius, yaitu konflik pekerjaan dan rumah tangga yang mendorong terjadinya perputaran karyawan secara sukarela. Sayangnya, kebanyakan riset dilakukan menggunakan latar belakang budaya individualistik. Riset ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak variabel demografik (jenis kelamin, usia, status pernikahan dan dukungan domestik) pada konflik pekerjaan dan rumah tangga dan keinginan keluar dari organisasi/perusahaan. Riset dilakukan di Indonesia, negara dengan budaya patriarkal dan kolektivistik. Partisipan riset ini adalah karyawan bank-bank berjumlah 1.122 orang yang penyampelannya dilakukan secara tidak acak. Analisis regresi dilakukan untuk mengetes hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hanya status pernikahan yang berpengaruh signifikan pada dua jenis konflik: konflik pekerjaan ke rumah tangga dan konflik rumah tangga ke pekerjaan. Status pernikahan berpengaruh tidak signifikan pada intensi keluar karyawan. Umur berpengaruh signifikan, namun berlawanan arah dari hipotesis, pada intensi keluar karyawan. Penjelasan hasil penelitian secara teoritis didiskusikan di artikel ini.Kata kunci: intensi keluar, konflik pekerjaan ke rumah tangga, konflik rumah tangga ke pekerjaan, variabel demografik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh corporate governance dan charter value terhadap pengambilan risiko perbankan pada bank yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 20042013. Jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data panel tidak berimbang. Corporate governance diukur dengan jumlah komisaris, persentase komisaris independen, kualitas manajemen risiko, dan jumlah rapat gabungan komisari dan direksi per tahun. Charter value diukur dengan Tobins’Q. Proksi pengambilan risiko yang digunakan adalah berdasarkan data pasar saham (market based measure) dan data akuntansi (accounting based measure). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa corporate governance dan charter value mampu mendisiplinkan pengambilan risiko perbankan. Kepemilikan asing dan domestik sebagai ultimate shareholder di suatu bank, tidak menunjukkan perbedaan terkait pengambilan risiko mereka. Kedua kelompok kepemilikan tersebut menginginkan return yang lebih tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa pengambilan risiko yang dilakukan oleh pihak manajemen bank lebih tercermin dalam pengukuran risiko berdasarkan data akuntansi, karena pengukuran tersebut memberikan hasil yang lebih konsisten.Kata kunci: corporate governance, charter value, tipe kepemilikan, pengambilan risiko, z-score

Abstract

The study aims at analyzing the causal relationship of decision-making concerning investment, financ¬ing from retained earning and dividend of insurance corporations at Jakarta Stock Exchange. The rationale of choosing this subject because of unique factor from industry and the tendency of insurance industries as a large business, which reach the world in the future.Result of this research is expected to give input for Insurance Corporations Management to be wiser in determining the investment of decision making, financing from retained earning and dividend, especially in divi¬dend payment and the hold profit increasing in financing patterns.The research result on the causality among the tree variables indicates that insurance corporations in Jakarta Stock Exchange are within the fist theory Miller and Modigliani he said the decision of dividend no influ¬ence to value of corporation and also capital expense. The causality between decision-making concerning in¬vestment, financing from retained earning and dividend is not always absolute for the research made on homogen markets relatively.

Abstract

Dalam konteks pemasaran capaian kepuasan konsumen menjadi salah satu tujuan dilakukannya kegiatan pemasaran. Namun kepuasan saja mungkin tidak cukup untuk membangun hubungan jangka panjang pelanggan terhadap penyedia layanan. Diperlukan aspek lain seperti kepercayaan sebagai katalis penting, terutama jika dikaitkan untuk membangun hubungan bisnis online. Apalagi konsumen cenderung masih kurang percaya dengan keamanan dan privasi mereka ketika melakukan hubungan melalui internet dibandingkan dengan transaksi melalui toko offline. Keterkaitan keempat aspek tersebut digambarkan dalam model penelitian ini dengan menetapkan persepsi keamanan dan privasi sebagai variabel anteseden, kepuasan sebagai variabel mediator, dan kepercayaan konsumen online sebagai variabel endogen. Subyek penelitian melibatkan sampel konsumen yang sudah pernah melakukan transaksi secara online sebanyak 96 orang dan sampel diperoleh melalui teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif persepsi keamanan dan privasi terhadap kepuasan konsumen online. Kedua variabel tersebut bersama-sama dengan kepuasan juga bisa berpengaruh positif terhadap kepercayaan konsumen online tersebut.Kata kunci: persepsi keamanan, persepsi privasi, kepuasan, kepercayaan.

Abstract

No longer after apprearing in Administrative Science Quarterly in 1979, the term "organizational culture" became a daily language among academicians manager, and business practioners. At that time they perceived that strong culture means good performance. Through the time however they realized that strong culture could also mean liabilties for an organization especially when the culture does not match the environment. That way in developing organizational culkture, adaptability should be taken into consideration so that culture become an asset really.Key Word: Organizational culture, stromg culture, and weak culture.

Abstract

After the economic crises hit Indonesia in 1997 and 2008 and contributed to downfall of a large number of big businesses in various industries. However, the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector has managed to survive from the crisis by showing a significant growth and rising contribution to the economy of Indonesia. Yogyakarta which is known as a city of student has acknowledged the important role of SMEs sector to improve the economic activity of the region and push the income of the people. Rising paradigm at universities and colleges in Yogyakarta about creating entrepreneurship from their graduates has contributed to the rise of graduates’ business in this place. The aim of the paper is to take a fresh look into graduate’ entrepreneurship on SMEs’ scale and competences in Yogyakarta. This paper focuses on a detailed study into the entrepreneurial activities of graduates in Yogyakarta and principally examines issues affecting their business development. Seven main issues were investigated: business establishment; location; premises (size, cost, tenure); concerns; advice utilization; education and training; and support requirements. The sample of the study was assembled from the ministry of department industry and KADIN Yogyakarta branch as formal sources. Other sample sources considered are entrepreneurship associations such as Konsultan Pengembangan Ide dan Usaha ARN of Yogyakarta. Data collecting methods used in this paper are in depth interviews and structured and semi structured questionnaires. Research method will relied mostly on ethnographic techniques.
