Abstract

The survey results showed that all Punk community members were Muslim, and 75 per cent were graduates of Islamic boarding schools with broken homes, poverty and lifestyle backgrounds. Based on observations in the field, their lives, especially those who graduated from Islamic boarding schools, are now not just able to enjoy a free life. However, based on freedom, they live wild lives and behave in strange ways, starting from extortion, drugs, and committing sexual crimes. In this study, the authors focus on religion from the perspective of the Punk community in Tasikmalaya City. These two theories and methods are appropriate for exploring a person's reality in depth based on their experience. The approach used in this research is qualitative. In this study, the authors used phenomenological theory and the construction of social reality with qualitative methods. The researchers employed a qualitative approach to address the problem in this study; The researcher obtained information that yielded descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words and through observation of the subject's behavior. The analysis results obtained two categories of religious understanding: three members of the Tasikmalaya City Punk community and pesantren alums understood religion as a nail. In contrast, two high school graduates of informants understood religion as a cage. However, this understanding differs from Punk community members in Tasikmalaya City

Abstract

The integration of Religious Sciences and General Sciences has attracted the attention of Islamic scientists since, Various researches by Muslim scholars have proposed concepts that strengthen the Integration of Science and Religion as an established scientific paradigm. Conceptually, there are at least two big ideas: Al-Faruqi's Islamization of Science and Kuntowijoyo's Islamization of Science. While practically there is IWE (Islamic Work Ethics) which lowers the concept of work ethics from the Al-Quran to the scientific realm. This paper attempts to connect IWE with two trends in the integration of knowledge paradigms: the Islamization of Islam and the Islamization of science. After realizing this, this paper attempts to formulate a scientific work pattern for the IWE theorizing process which can become a scientific work model for the Islamization of science for other concepts.

Abstract

Abstract

Ageing is an inevitable natural process that can give rise to concerns at both individual and societal levels if strategic planning is not in place to address the associated changes and ensure the well-being and satisfaction of this population. This article aims to explore the significance of healthcare for the elderly and the application of Islamic psychospiritual science in promoting healthy ageing by emphasizing lifestyle factors. The research employed a survey instrument administered to 307 randomly selected respondents, including elderly individuals and caregivers. The study was conducted across Malaysia from February 2022 to April 2022. The collected data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22 software. The study findings indicate that all the elements encompassing an Islamic psychospiritual lifestyle, including the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects, hold great significance. The Cronbach's alpha (α) score for this study was calculated at 0.934, indicating a high level of internal consistency. The results of this study offer valuable insights for family members, caregivers, welfare organizations, nursing homes, and other entities involved in elderly care. These findings can guide the optimization of care aspects, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the study's outcomes can inform the development of modules or guidelines for elderly care, facilitating the caregiving process.

Abstract

The global community is increasingly recognizing the integration of health science with religion and spirituality. In Malaysia, the field of Islamic psychospiritual science, which combines psychology with spirituality and Islamic teachings, has garnered significant research attention, particularly in addressing the challenges faced by cancer caregivers. These caregivers, often referred to as "hidden patients," experience a range of difficulties including physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and financial burdens that adversely affect their quality of life. However, society tends to prioritize the health and well-being of the patients over that of the caregivers. In reality, caregivers place the needs of the patients above their own in all aspects. Spiritual, religious, and emotional distress are prevalent concerns for both patients and caregivers during the crisis of cancer, which is often associated with mortality. Hence, the objective of this article is to explore the role of Islamic psychospiritual knowledge in supporting cancer caregivers, specifically in addressing their spiritual, religious, and emotional well-being. The data collection process utilizes library methods based on key findings from previous studies, while data analysis is conducted using a thematic analysis approach. The findings of this study indicate that religious aspects emphasized in Islamic psychospiritual disciplines can enhance caregivers' resilience in effectively managing various cancer-related challenges, thereby improving their overall quality of life. Hence, the significance of the spiritual and religious dimension, which acts as a protective factor, should not be disregarded. Lastly, this article proposes the provision of spiritual and religious educational materials within medical settings as valuable resources for cancer caregivers to reinforce their own well-being.

So, from the results of the study, the authors found 3 important findings, namely: First, that the reality of the religious behavior of rural communities and social culture is inseparable from the elements of religion and myth. Second, that the reality of traditional medicine systems in rural communities is inseparable from the elements of religion, myth and magic. Third, that the understanding and experience of rural communities constructs the religious behavior of the community which will then reflect into the traditional medical system of rural communities. One of the social problems that is now emerging in Indonesia is the decline of Muslim social integration. This article wants to discuss the Muslim social integration within different social groups in Indonesia in the pre-independence period in order to become an example for Muslim integration today. The method used in writing is a literature-based qualitative research method, with a theoretical approach to Muslim social integration with non-Muslim communities. This article finds that, in the perspective of horizontal integration, Indonesian Muslim societies generally integrate with different communities, varying ethnicity, race, socio-political and economic interests, especially with different religions. And this is the reality of mainstream social in Indonesia at the pre-colonial period and the colonial period. However, the Muslim social integrity, can not be called an absolute social reality.
