Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis (JAB) is the biannual scientific journal of Business Administration, published by the Center for Business Studies (CeBiS), Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Parahyangan Catholic University. Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis is issued two (2) times a year, every March and September, which contains essays or research results in Business Administration. Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis aims to disseminate the ideas and scientific analysis in the field of Business Administration.

Abstract

The decreasing number of intakes and quality of the students, and crisis identityhave jeopardise the survival of business schools. There must be a breakthrough toovercome these hard situation. One of the solution is theories-in-use approach, whichis needed to develop the appropriate theory. The writer also suggests to recruit practitionersas the faculty members. This will encourage original theories developmentwhich is appropriate for third world countries like Indonesia. The other solutionis to send the existing lecturers to join the consulting and encourage them to havethe knowledge of practice world. Abstract

The rapid development of Information Technology turned out to open the opportunity of E-Commerce. Nowadays, E-Commerce is one of the promising business opportunities. By managing a blog, a blogger can earn a considerable profit. This study aims to determine whether the business on the internet is worth to run, how to design this kind of business, and how much the budget needed to run this business. The business plan is applied to www.laughonthefloor.com by using descriptive analysis method. The data gathered by using literature research and also field research. Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the persistence of the impact of market timing on capital structure of non-financial firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Market timing is measured from the perspective of IPO event, and divides the market into two sections, hot market and cold market. Firms that go public in hot market are identified as the market timers. From 93 sample data, the result shows that hot market-firms substantially issue more equity than cold market-firms do. Therefore, market timing has no impact on capital structure of non-financial firm in Indonesia, both in short-term and long-term. After going public, the impact of market timing vanished, which is indicated by the rise of the leverage level of hot market-firms in Indonesia. Capital market has important role in Indonesia’s economy as a tool for governmentto maintain economic stability. Stock is one of many capital market’s instruments.Stock price fluctiations can be seen from Composite Stock Price Index and SectoralStock Price Index. Stock price fluctuations is influenced by many factors. One ofthose factors is interest rate. Abstract

Economic system consists of 3 elements which are divided into subject, object andinstitution which organized both. One method that can be used to measure effectiv-ity and performance of this economic system is by utilising economic developmentindex. Among them, can be found, indices based on subject and institution ap-proach. Meanwhile, one of the product based indices developed by The Centre forInternational Development (CID) Harvard University in 2010 is called EconomicComplexity Index (ECI). This index utilises network theory analysing 2 types ofconectivity; first, the concept of complexity and ubiquity which is the linkage be-tween a country and its products. Second, the concept of product proximity whichis the linkage among products itself. Abstract

This study is aimed at evaluating financial performance of micro and small en-terprises and social economic impact of government’s community-based povertyalleviation program (PNPM Mandiri). Evaluation focuses on comparing the financialratios and social economic indicators before and after using of the revolving fund.Improvement on these ratios and indicators is argued as one of indications for povertyalleviation. Data were collected from owner of 80 micro and small enterprises in8 Kelurahan. Based on Wilcoxon singed-rank test, the results are varies. There isno significant difference in current ratio, quick ratio and return on equity of thesemicro and small enterprises before and after using the revolving fund, while there issignificant difference in cash ratio, return on asset and net profit margin. Meanwhilefive out of six social economic indicators are significantly different.Keywords: Financial performance, financial ratio, social economic impact, povertyalleviation, PNPM Mandiri1

Politics and business may seem to exist separately. Businesses primarily focus onstrategies and policies to improve operations and increase the profitability of compa-nies. Politics, on the other hand, play in a different arena, delving into the creation ofpublic policies for the advancement of constituents and the country. However, uponclose examination of how politics and business truly work, a connection betweenboth becomes apparent. If the company fail to react proportionally when the crisis, then the situation mayworst, especially it will affect the image of the company. In the crisis, public willexamine closely whatever the company/management do. In this situation, the massmedia’s role in building the company image is very important. Abstract

Although Indonesia has been a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO),but in fact the Indonesian trade, especially with regard to the export-import in thefree trade has not been established. This happens due to the competitiveness of theIndonesian national product is still weak. Nevertheless, as a consequence of Indonesiahas ratified the GATT / WTO, the government should try to improve the competitive-ness of national products through the Indonesian national law reform to formulatea Trade Policy that refers to the national interests of Indonesia, through the Law onAnti-Dumping and Safeguard.Keywords: Export, import, free trade, GATT/WTO.
