Abstract

The aim of this research is that the application of knowing that puzzle media can improve the understanding of fourth grade students' mathematical concepts related to plane material at SD Negeri 1 Mayongkidul, Mayong District, Jepara Regency, Academic Year 2023/2024. The type of research applied is Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were 28 grade IV students at SD Negeri 1 Mayongkidul, including 20 male students and 8 female students. This research consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, tests and documentation. The data analysis used in this research is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results of this research show that through the application of puzzle media, fourth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Mayongkidul can improve their understanding of mathematical concepts in flat shape material. This can be seen from the number of students who completed cycle I as many as 16 students with a percentage of 57% (medium category) and the number of students who completed cycle II as many as 23 students with a percentage of 82% (high category). The application of this puzzle media can increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts by fulfilling success indicators.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji implementasi RME dalam pembelajaran matematika menggunakan metode SLR. Fokus yang dikaji adalah tren penelitian RME dalam pembelajaran matematika, topik dan materi yang efektif diajarkan menggunakan pendekatan RME, dan kemampuan matematis apa yang meningkat melalui pembelajaran dengan pendekatan RME. Peneliti meninjau 10 artikel yang relevan dan sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Hasil kajian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa tren penelitian RME dalam pembelajaran meningkat dalam satu dekade terakhir walaupun terdapat musim pada tahun-tahun tertentu. Topik yang efektif diajarkan dengan pendekatan RME adalah geometri. Kemampuan matematis yang meningkat melalui pendekatan RME adalah pemahaman konsep dan penyelesaian masalah matematika

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in mathematics learning at MAN 2 Karanganyar for the 2025/2026 academic year, focusing on planning, implementation, facilities and infrastructure, challenges, and solutions undertaken by teachers and the madrasah. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews with mathematics teachers, madrasah vice-principals, and students, as well as document study of the curriculum, teaching modules, and inventory of facilities and infrastructure. The research findings indicate that conceptually, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has been successful thru planning based on the CP and ATP, the selection of essential materials, and the combination of direct instruction with varied activities such as interactive quizzes, discussions, and presentations. However, it is still constrained by students' low basic mathematical abilities, time limitations, and uneven digital infrastructure and laboratories. Teachers respond with differentiated instruction, an emphasis on essential materials, the use of available digital media, and flexible classroom management to maintain student understanding and learning motivation. The conclusion of the study indicates that mathematics learning at MAN 2 Karanganyar has led to a deep and contextual implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, but still requires strengthening students' academic readiness and improving infrastructure to optimize the curriculum's goals.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah matematis masih memerlukan perhatian. Beberapa faktor yang memengaruhi rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik,  seperti: resiliensi matematis serta model pembelajaran yang digunakan saat proses pembelajaran juga dapat memberikan pengaruh bagi pemahaman peserta didik selama pembelajaran. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah implementasi model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan Genially efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis ditinjau dari resiliensi matematis peserta didik pada model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan Genially. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah mixed-method dengan Sequental Explanatory Design. Seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Ungaran menjadi populasi dalam penelitian ini dengan sampel yang diambil adalah 2 kelas dari seluruh kelas VII, dengan kelas VII H sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII I sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbantuan Genially dalam pembelajaran terbukti efektif dalam proses pembelajaran serta resiliensi matematis juga berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik selama pembelajaran.

Abstract

Literasi matematika memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, terutama dalam mengembangkan kemampuan logika, analisis, dan pemecahan masalah. Namun, bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus, literasi matematika sering kali menjadi tantangan bagi mereka. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi media pembelajaran yang mampu menyajikan konsep matematika secara visual dan interaktif untuk mendukung pemahaman mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media Pull Out Photo Math Box berbantuan Augmented Reality (AR) yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi matematika siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar validasi ahli media dan ahli materi, angket respon guru dan siswa, serta tes pretest dan posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI.1.C di SLB Negeri Semarang. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan dinyatakan Sangat Valid dengan presentase ahli media sebesar 85,5% dan ahli materi sebesar 84,6%. Media juga dinyatakan Sangat Praktis dengan hasil angket respon guru sebesar 89,0% dan respon siswa sebesar 100%. Keefektifan media dibuktikan melalui uji N-Gain yang memperoleh nilai sebesar 0,7175 dengan kategori peningkatan tinggi sehingga media dinyatakan efektif. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Pull Out Photo Math Box berbantuan Augmented Reality yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi matematika siswa disabilitas.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an application-based mathematics learning media called MathSoc and determine its level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in supporting the learning process. The research method used is research and development. The research subjects consisted of students and educators at MTs Al-Hikam. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and tests. The results of the study showed that the MathSoc learning media was declared very valid based on the assessment of three media experts with an average percentage of 95.17% and three material experts with an average percentage of 93.89%. The practicality test involving students and educators obtained an average percentage of 95.83% with a very practical category. Furthermore, the effectiveness test through the N-gain calculation showed a value of 0.7613 with a high category, which was supported by an increase in the average test score of students from 51.03 before treatment to 88.38 after using the MathSoc learning media. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the MathSoc learning media is valid, practical, and effective for use in mathematics learning. This media can improve student learning outcomes and support more engaging, flexible, and student-centered learning. This research is expected to provide an alternative solution in developing application-based learning media to improve the quality of mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student errors in solving probability problems based on the classification of errors according to Kastolan's theory, which includes conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. This study used a qualitative, descriptive approach. The subjects were 25 ninth-grade students at Wesley Private Junior High School who had studied probability. Data collection techniques were conducted through written tests and interviews. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students still make various errors in solving probability problems, including errors in understanding basic concepts, inaccuracies in formulating solution steps, and calculation errors. Conceptual errors occur due to a lack of understanding of the definition and formula of probability, procedural errors are caused by a lack of systematic solution steps, while technical errors are caused by a lack of accuracy in calculations. These findings indicate that students' understanding of probability still needs to be improved. Therefore, more effective learning strategies are needed to minimize student errors in solving probability problems.

Abstract

This research investigated the necessity of standardizing the audio representation method of mathematical notations in fraction learning among students with visual impairments. A descriptive qualitative case study design was used to collect data by observing classroom situations and conducting semi-structured interviews with one mathematics teacher and three visually impaired students at a state special school in West Java, Indonesia. Thematic analysis extracted four general themes: systemic variance in symbol notation practice, structural ambiguity leading to interpretation errors, institutional lack of symbol standardization frameworks, and multivariate rationales for standardization. The findings showed that variations in audio representation significantly affected students’ understanding, particularly for mixed fractions and multi-level expressions. Estimation errors worsened with increased complexity, ranging from 97% accuracy for simple fractions to just 15% for multi-operation expressions. Consequently, this research suggests the development of Indonesian MathSpeak guidelines and the implementation of multi-school trials to adopt uniform audio representation standards, ensuring equitable mathematics learning experiences for visually impaired students.

Abstract

Elementary school students conceptual understanding on multiplication and division operations is still relatively low. We contend that this is convinient to the shortage of learning media that suits students need also the minimal using of effective tecnique. This research was purposelly to established a differentiated module based towards the drill method to rectify students conceptual understanding of multiplication and division. The method was using research also is research and expansion with the ADDIE development model: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects this research were grade III students of public elementary schools in Klaten district, Central Java who were grouped into low and medium categories. The yields this reseach was shown that developed module named valid and very valid with a validity score 90% based on material experts and 90,67% according to media experts. Practicality released the criteria of very practical with a student response score of 94.17% and a teacher response of 95%. Additionally, the drill method using developed modul was effective for both groups students.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in education provides teachers with opportunities to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences. In Grade 5 Mathematics, the topic of mixed arithmetic operations is often challenging for students, as it requires a strong understanding of the order of operations, accuracy, and intensive practice. This study aims to analyze the implementation of interactive quiz applications and their impact on improving students’ learning outcomes in mixed arithmetic operations. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 30 fifth-grade students from an elementary school. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, student activity observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with the average score increasing from 63 in the pre-cycle to 74 in Cycle I and reaching 86 in Cycle II. Students also demonstrated highly positive responses toward the use of interactive quiz applications, noting that the learning process became more enjoyable, engaging, and easier to understand. Therefore, it can be concluded that interactive quiz applications are effective tools for enhancing students’ mastery of mixed arithmetic operations in elementary school mathematics.
