Abstract

This study aims to determine teacher perceptions regarding critical thinking skills in learning mathematics at SMP Mataram Kasihan as a PISA sample school. This research was conducted in November 2022. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The critical thinking approach in the process of learning mathematics is the focus of this research. The data were taken from an interview with a mathematics teacher at the PISA sample junior high school. Data collection is done by interview, observation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and the literature-led method. The results of this study showed that: teachers view students as having positive perceptions of students' critical thinking skills by using critical thinking. The teacher's positive perception includes the teacher's perception of students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Qualitative descriptive research that aims to analyze students' metacognition ability in solving mathematical problems. The three components of metacognition ability to be measured are developing a strategy or action plan, monitoring actions and evaluating actions. The data in this study was obtained from problem-solving test sheets, metacognition questionnaires and guidelines for interviews. The subjects in this study were students in semester 1 of the mathematics education study program for the 2022/2023 academic year by taking 3 students representing high, medium, and low ability groups. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that students with high abilities can solve mathematical problem solving test questions because they already involve 3 components of metacognition ability very well, namely compiling action plans, monitoring actions and evaluating actions, students with moderate abilities have not been able to solve mathematical problem solving test questions because they have not evaluated actions so that there are still wrong final answers even though students Having the ability to strategize actions and monitor good actions, students with low abilities cannot complete mathematical problem solving tests because they have not been able to carry out action plans, monitor actions, and evaluate actions properly.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal deeper numeracy literacy skills in solving the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) questions. This research was conducted at SMAS Cerdas Murni Tembung in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 28 students of class X MIPA-1. The research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The research instruments used were PISA test questions and interviews. The results showed that 44% of student were able to fulfill the ability indicators in using syimbols, numbers, and calculate mathematical operations contained in questions at levels 1, 4, and 5. In the indicator of the ability to analyze information from tables, graphs, diagrams, schematics, etc., it was obtained that 57,1% of students were able to solve PISA level 3. As well as indicators of skills in applying concepts as well as making decisions contained in level 2 and level 6 questions, 42,3% of students were able to meet these indicators. So that, the overall numeracy literacy ability of class X MIPA-1 students can be categorized as lacking in solving the Program For International Student Assessment (PISA) questions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penggunaan handphone di sekolah sebagai media pembelajaran, salah satunya media pembelajaran berbantuan quizizz. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil analisis kepraktisan dan efektivitas media pembelajaran quizizz dalam pembelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas IX SMP Islam Al Azhar 5 Cirebon tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian mengenai analisis kepraktisan dan efektivitas media pembelajaran berbantuan quizizz dalam pembelajaran yang menggunakan aplikasi quizizz dapat menumbuhkan motivasi dan minat belajar siswa, dengan menggunakan aplikasi quizizz juga membuat proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan menantang. Kendala dalam menggunakan aplikasi quizizz adalah jaringan internet, maka penggunaan internet kouta untuk mengakses aplikasi quizizz juga menjadi kendala karena sulit untuk terhubung ke jaringan internet. Manfaat saat menggunakan aplikasi quizizz membuat proses belajar online lebih bervariasi, lebih praktis dan efektif. Keuntungan menggunakan hasil belajar aplikasi quizizz dapat dilihat secara langsung, penggunaan aplikasi quizizz juga dapat mengevaluasi siswa secara mandiri. Aplikasi quizizz hanya untuk menentukan kemampuan siswa dalam domain kognitif. Penggunaan media pembelajaran berbantuan kuis pada siswa kelas IX SMP Islam Al Azhar 5 Cirebon dapat dikatakan praktis dan efektif.

Abstract

Learning is an activity that is arranged in a planned and systematic manner by involving information and the environment to facilitate students in learning. Efforts that can be made by schools to continue to achieve learning goals during the pandemic, one of which is by implementing limited face-to-face learning. Limited face-to-face learning is learning that implements the Covid-19 prevention process and pays attention to the preparations made by schools before the start of learning, to ensure that learning takes place safely, clearly determining the number of days and hours for the division of limited study groups to be carried out. To see the success of learning mathematics during the learning process. It takes one of the use of learning media that is fun for students. Thus, to overcome this problem, researchers chose to use online-based learning media, namely Kahoot. Kahoot can be accessed at www.kahoot.com which is connected to the internet. During the evaluation at the end of the lesson using the Kahoot application, it can keep students excited and not watching during the learning process. Thus, the purpose of this study is to find out how the use of kahoot learning media in the face-to-face learning process is limited to learning mathematics. While the instruments used in this study were tests, questionnaires and observations. The test questions used in the use of the Kahoot application are 5 questions for each quiz that is carried out 3 times. The test given to students is in the form of multiple-choice questions on the class VII integer material. The questionnaire in this study was in the form of closed questions or statements, aiming to find out the student's response to the evaluation tool that would be given.

Abstract

This paper focuses on the development of valid, practicable, and effectively developed LKPD based on the PBL learning model and Polya's problem-solving steps. This research is a 4D model of R&D with the implementation of definition, design, development, and dissemination stages. This research was implemented in a senior high school in Pemali Sub-district with the research subjects being six eleventh-grade students of the Social Studies-3 department for the small group trial and thirty-four eleventh-grade students of the Social Studies-4 department for the large group trial. The method of data gathering used was by conducting interviews, completing questionnaires, and taking written tests. The techniques of data analyzed were descriptively qualitative for the interviews and measurable quantitative for the questionnaires and written tests. The outcome of the data analysis revealed that the LKPD's average validity was 86.67 points with the most highly valid criteria, the practice of LKPD was 89.17 points with the most practical criteria, and the average normalized gain value (N-gain) of LKPD was 0.55 points with the interpretation of the medium effectiveness. In conclusion, PBL-based LKPD with the steps of Polya meets the criteria for developing teaching materials and can help students in solving Linear Program problems.

Abstract

The study aims to see the average mathematics learning outcomes of Class VIII SMP/MTs students through the implementation of the MURDER learning model. The form of research is a quasi-experimental with a research design of nonequivalent control group design.   Data collection techniques used in the study were test techniques (pretest and posttest) and observation sheets. From the data on the results of observing teacher activity, the percentage of teacher activity obtained was 87.5% and at the 2nd and 3rd meetings, the percentage obtained was 94.3% and 100% respectively and this was included in the very good criteria and based on inferential data analysis, posttest data obtained . This means that the average mathematics learning outcomes of experimental class students using the MURDER learning model are better than the control class using the conventional learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation and activeness on problem-solving abilities in learning that is applied through the implementation of android-based learning media. This type of research is experimental with a sample of UT Pokjar Kendal Regency students. The instruments used in this study were activity observation sheets, motivational questionnaires, and problem-solving ability tests. The research results show: 1). the effect of motivation on problem-solving is 76.9%, 2). the influence of activeness on problem-solving by 52.6%, and 3). the impact of motivation and activeness together on problem-solving is 84%. Based on this, it can be concluded that there is an influence of activeness and motivation on problem-solving abilities. Future research in improving problem-solving skills by increasing student activity and motivation

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research was conducted with the aims of 1) testing the average ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts using the RME model assisted by Pemath media to be better than the average using the direct model; 2) to examine the difference in the average ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts before and after being taught the RME model assisted by Pemath's media; 3) testing the increase in the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts after being taught with the RME model assisted by Pemath media. This research is a quantitative experimental research. Sampling using random sampling technique. The statistical analysis of the research data is the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The results showed that the average ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using the RME model assisted by Pemath media was better than the average using the direct model, 2) the average ability of students to understand mathematical concepts was better after using the RME model assisted by Pemath media, 3) the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts increases after being taught with the RME model assisted by Pemath media.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the influence of Case-Based Learning on students' mathematical literacy skills and 2) determine the influence of Case-Based Learning on students' self-directed learning. This research is quasi-experimental, and the design employs a posttest-only control design. The population for this study consists of eighth-grade students at MTS Ell-Firdaus 2 Kedungreja. Sampling was conducted using the cluster random sampling technique. Data for this research were collected through instruments including mathematical literacy skills tests and self-directed learning questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that Case-Based Learning influences students' mathematical literacy skills and self-directed learning. This influence is shown by the Mann-Whitney test results for the mathematical literacy skills test data with a significance level of Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that Case-Based Learning influences students' mathematical literacy skills. Additionally, the t-test for the self-directed learning questionnaire data yielded a significance level of Sig. = 0.006 < 0.05, revealing that Case-Based Learning affects students' self-directed learning.
