Abstract

This study aimed to determine the behavior of children aged 6–12 years and to analyze the children’s behavior towards social care character values through playing gobak sodor. The type of this study was qualitative descriptive which involved children aged 6–12 years with low social awareness as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation and interviews. Then, the data were analyzed by using the interactive model analysis technique from Miles and Huberman (data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions). The validity was examined by technique and source triangulation. Social care was a behavior or action carried out by individuals consciously towards other individuals so as to create interactions with the wider community. In social life, especially in heterogeneous communities, social care was required by individuals (children). Social care would become learning when interacting with other children. Every interaction trained children to have high social sensitivity towards friends and their environment. Social care for children could be applied through a traditional Indonesian game known as Gobak Sodor. The results showed that there was an increase in the character of social care after playing the traditional game Gobak Sodor. Social attitudes that were very striking were the attitude of responsibility, focus, and tolerance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze to what extend project based learning model improved the students’ creative thinking skills in the water cycle material at grade V SDN Sukanagara. The method of this study was a quasi-experimental method, with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Samples in this study were 30 students in class VA as the experimental class and 30 students in class VB as the control class. The results showed that there were differences in the ability to think creatively based on the assessment data of the essay test between students who learned through Project Based Learning model and students who learned through direct learning model. This was evidenced from the results of the normality test, homogeneity and t-test, namely the sig value = 0.002 with dk = n1 -1 or dk = 30 - 1 = 29, α = 0.05 meaning that 0.002 < 0.05. Then, H0 was rejected, Ha was accepted. There were differences in the ability to think creatively based on product assessment data between students who learned through Project Based Learning model and students who learned through direct learning model. This was evidenced from the results of the normality test, homogeneity and t-test, namely the sig value = 0.046 with dk = n1 -1 or dk = 30 - 1 = 29, α = 0.05 meaning that 0.046 < 0.05. Then, H0 was rejected, Ha was accepted.

Abstract

Cooperative learning model that makes students work in groups can solve a problem, one of which is Think Pair Share (TPS). The purpose of using this cooperative learning model was that it enabled students to discuss, assess each other's latest knowledge, and help each other in solving mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the learning model applied in the experimental class on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The type of this research was experimental with a Quasi-Experimental Design. The population of this study were all fifth-grade students of SD Kartika I-10 Padang. The technique used for sampling was Saturated Sampling. The sample in this study was class VB students of SD Kartika I-10 Padang as the experimental class and class VA students of SD Kartika I-10 Padang as the control class. The instrument used was a problem-solving ability test. The collected data were analyzed by using t-test. The results of data analysis obtained tcount = 0.87 and ttable = 1.681 with db = 43 (n1 + n2 – 2 = 23 + 22 – 2 = 43) and a significant level of 5%. Based on the test, tcount < ttable (0.87 < 1.68), so H0 was accepted and H1 was rejected with the conclusion that “TPS Type Cooperative Learning Model did not have a significant influence on mathematical problem-solving ability at Grade V SD Kartika I-10 Padang in the academic year 2019/2020.”

Abstract

Scientific literacy is one of the skills that should be mastered in the 21st century. This scientific literacy can be implemented through learning media. The purpose of this study was to develop a learning video by using a science-based Videoscribe application. The model of development in this study was the five-step ADDIE model of refinement: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the validation from language, material, and media experts, the average percentage of the learning videos was 89.7% with the category of “very valid/very worthy.” The experimental stage of the study was carried out in three phases: one-to-one trial, small-group trial, and large-group trial. Students’ response to the science-based Videoscribe learning video in the one-to-one trial obtained a percentage of 100% in the “excellent” category. Students’ response in the small-group trial received an average of 96.25% in the “excellent” category, and students’ responses in the large-group trial received an average of 96.6% in the “excellent” category. Meanwhile, the students’ scientific literacy test results varied in each test. The one-to-one test obtained an average of 66.7% in the “good” category. The small-group test obtained an average of 58.3% in the “fairly good” category. The large-group test obtained an average of 57.3%, also in the “fairly good” category. It was concluded that the scientific literacy–based Videoscribe learning videos were suitable to be used in learning and received a very good response from students. In addition, students’ understanding of scientific literacy material was also quite good.

Abstract

Based on the results of pre-research observations conducted at SLB Negeri Pembina Pekanbaru, several problems were found, namely: some teachers were not able to apply online learning at home due to limitations in technology. Then, many teachers applied the learning model containing many assignments without paying attention to the situation and conditions during this covid-19 outbreak. Learning became monotonous. By using creative learning model that was fun, the children's character and creativity could be fostered. Giving too much material and tiring children made the children lose their motivation for learning. The type of this research was school action research with a sample of 34 teachers at SLB Pembina Pekanbaru. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that the teachers’ creativity in teaching increased through the assignment method. Under these conditions, the level of teacher acceptance increased. The comparison of aspects of teachers’ creativity in teaching through the assignment method in cycle I and II increased from 58.8% to 75.1%.
