Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) menerbitkan artikel penelitian di bidang kesehatan masyarakat dengan topik kajian: administrasi dan kebijakan kesehatan, kesehatan lingkungan, kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja, gizi masyarakat, epidemiologi, promosi. kesehatan dan ilmu perilaku, kesehatan ibu dan anak, kesehatan reproduksi, biostatistika, sistem informasi kesehatan, dan demografi/kependudukan. Pada Bulan Agustus 2020, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) memulai kolaborasi dengan Perhimpunan Sarjana dan Profesional Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia (PERSAKMI) untuk penerbitan jurnal. Sejak tahun 2022, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) meningkatkan frekuensi terbitan menjadi 4 kali dalam satu tahun (Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember).

Abstract

Health-care waste includes all the waste generated by health-care establishments, research facilities, and laboratories. The waste produced by health-care providers are non-risk  (domestic waste) and risk  (infectious waste).   The waste produced in the course of health-care activities carries a higher potential for infection and injury than any other type of waste. The study was conducted to explain the waste management in health care facility. The study is descriptive research  used cross sectional design. The Results showed that solids, liquids, and little gases waste are  produced by Technical Organizing Unit Unej Medical Centre. Solid waste treatment is operated by separation infectious and domestic waste, than they are  removed and combusted in incenerator at TPA Pakusari. Liquid waste treatment is operated by saptic tank. Abstract

Climate change occurred in many areas in all over the world, have closely relationship with public health. The climate change brought damage for people’s live. Climate change caused by adding of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide). On the  other hands, people can cause increase of greenhouse gases. This paper  discusses relationship between climate change and public health, in the sense of climate change’s “contributions” to environment change, which leads to climate change and another way around the impact of climate change to the public health situation. Evidences from many regions show that climate change caused disasters and extreme weather. Disaster and extreme weather caused death, food scarcity, malnutrition, scarcity of fresh water, hence poor sanitation, change in vector prevalence, air pollution rises, and health risk with additional climate related disease burdens. On another side, some human cause climate change occurred through people’s practices of habbits  and behaviors that caused increasing of greenhouse gases. Their practices of  felling forest trees excessively and forest burning that caused deforestations, treatment of municipal waste with open dumping method, and used fossil energy excessively. Abstract

Anxiety is a condition where individual or group has anxious feeling (estimate/opinion) and the act of nervous system to respond a vague threat,non-spesific.This research uses Pre-Experiment design with a frame of Pre-Post Test design without control,purpose to identify the influence of therapheutic communication toward the decrease of patient’s anxiety level for Pre-Operation patients cured in Surgery Room RSU in Jember Regency using Consecutive Sampling technigue. The intervention process uses introduction of analytical therapheutic communikative intraction process. A result of the process applies on regres test on which t calculation is much bigger than t table, that is 4,479 > 2,093. In conclusion, every Pre-operation patient has anxiety, and therapheutic communication give meaningful and significant influence to decrease Pre-operation of patient’s anxiety level. As remmendation, in this research, the therapheutic communication done well will be able to decrease patien’s anxiety level so it must be applied in nursing service especially Pre-operation. Abstract

With the detection of tuberculosis (TB) infection in children means that there are transmitting infection by the lung TB carrier with positive AFB sputum. The transmission more frequently occurred in one roof close contact. The objective of this study is to know the odds ratio of TB infection in primary school student according to TB patient contact and parents characteristics. This study was perfomed from January to Juny 2008 using case control study design. The cases group consisting of 17 children were TB infected and the control group consisting of 51 children weren’t TB infected. The analysis showed that children who had contact with TB patient were 56.25 times (95% CI with OR 6.254-505.962), who had contact chronic coughs patient were 14.22 times (95% CI with OR 3.155-64.112,) who had mother work were 6.5 times (95%CI 1.838-22.981) and who had low parents earning were 7.8 times (95%CI 2.285-26.622) more likely to have TB infected. Considering that contact TB patient and parents characteristics are risk factors for TB unfection. Early  diagnosis prompt treatment for contact, and working mother must give deeper attention takes care of child TB infection. Abstract

Clean and healthy behaviors which in Indonesia called PHBS is a embodiment of healthy paradigm on individual culture. This study aims to analyze the clean and healthy behaviors of Osing society in Kemiren village, Glagah distict, Banyuwangi. This study was an observational study which conducted in June-December 2013. The population of this study were all of families in Kemiren village, as many as 754 families. The sample of this study were 100 respondent which taken using simple random sampling methods. The analysis of the data using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the amount of respondents were men, more than 50 years old, had low level of education (elementary school) and had profesion as farmers.The behaviors of healthy latrines use is 54%, less healthy latrines use is 37%, and bad healthy latrines use is 9%. The behaviors of clean water use is 94% and not clean water use is 6%. The behaviors of respondent on using trash is 37% and not using trash is 63%. The behaviors of less healthy latrines use and the lack of using trash caused by the lack of respondents awareness on clean and healthy behaviors (PHBS). So, it needs to concerted effort on clean and healthy behaviors (PHBS) promotion. Keywords : Behaviors, PHBS, Osing society

Abstract

HIV/AIDS is public health problems, one of the causes HIV/AIDS is free seks. Until now it has not been found vaccine the prevention of HIV/AIDS and in medicine to treating HIV/AIDS, the best approach with health promotion using media of health promotion in the form of leaflets and posters product AIDS Commission district Jember. This research to analyze the difference of the effectiveness of leaflet and poster product AIDS commission district Jember in the behavior of hiv/aids prevention (a case study on the faculty of non Health University Jember student Cohort 2010). This research is experiments research with quasi design experiment, The total samples was 96 students on the faculty of non Health University Jember student Cohort 2010) and the analysis of using test willcoxon signed rank test, kruskal walls, as well as the Mann Whitney Test with a significance level of 5%. the Results of the research there is a difference in the effectiveness of leaflets and posters product AIDS commission district Jember on Aids Prevention, leaflets more effective in improving knowledge, attitudes and practice of prevention of HIV/AIDS compared to media posters Keywords: Effectiveness, Leaflet, Poster, Behavior of HIV/AIDS Prevention

Abstract

Pulmonary TB is a chronic infectious disease and one of the most important health problems in the world, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia. Anti TB drugs resistance and how easy it spread because the lack of information and knowledge are the major constrains in TB eradication. Many efforts has been taken to  overcome this problems, however, its incidence and prevalence is still high. Health community education, including the spreading of pulmonary TB and how to recognize the clinical manifestations, is one of the effort to overcome this problem. The aim of this study was to know the effect of health community education about pulmonary TB to Paguyuban Paru Group at Plerean, Subdistrict Sumber Jambe, Jember. This is a quasi experimental study, using pre test and post test after a health community education has been given. By paired sample test, the result showed significant difference (p<0,05) in the knowledge about pulmonary TB among the member of Paguyuban Paru at Plerean, Subdistrict Sumber Jambe, Jember, before and after health community education has been given. The conclusión of this study is that health community education effectively increase the knowledge about pulmonary TB and, next, can compress the incidence of pulmonary TB in Indonesia   Key words : pulmonary TB, community, health education

Abstract

Insufficiency ferrum anaemia still be one of the inclusive major nutritional problem in Indonesia. This Analytic research Survey performed to learn the correlation between food pattern and anaemia status. Interview was executed at 125 adolescent women. Subjects were identified from population by simple random sampling method. The data gathered was analysed using chi square test on α = 0,05. It was found that the anamia prevalence was 17.6%  and for the food pattern, egg and meat are most iron source which consumption with respondent. The respondent rarely consumption Fe and vitamin C supplementation. For level of consumption, there was protein and fat had sufficient dietary intake, unless energy. Statistical analysis showed that food pattern are Fe and vitamin C supplementation, meats products and vegetables diet, level of consumption of energy, protein and fat had not correlation with anamia status in both rural and urban area. Key word : Food pattern, anamia status

Abstract

The research was proposed by Gani, et al (2013:12) about “Desain Kawasan Sehat untuk Wisata Budaya Using di Kabupaten Banyuwangi” was calculated the use of health toilet is 54%, the use of quite health toilet is 37%, and the use of not-health toilet is 9%. Furthermore, this research also calculated the behavior of using clean water is 94% and 63% not usingtrash can. The purpose of this study was to analyze PHBS Using community includes predisposing, enabling, reinforcing based on three indicators of PHBs that apply to defecate in latrines, using clean water, and dispose of waste in place. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Some techniques of data collection are applied in this research; in-depth interview, documentation, and observation. Determination of the informants in this research used purposive technique. The results showed that people still have the habit Using defecate in the river, people using clean water sourced from mountain springs, the habit of not sorting garbage and dispose of garbage in the river. The village head required that every homeshould have latrines to reduce the habit of people to defecate in the river. Mother village heads who were members of the PKK had been doing counseling about recycling but the response was still not appropriate. There is a tradition in Kemiren rabo wekasan. This tradition bequeathed 1 cultural values that spring must be maintained by cleaning.Keywords : Healthy and Clean Lifestyles, Defecate, Clean Water, Trash

Abstract

Increase in the human population and the state of the economy more advanced, giving impact public awareness of health increase. Increasing visitors in the hospital, so the hospital have to increase the facilities to existing and improve the quality of services given. These are aiming that the patients will be served rapidly and well. Purpose of this research is to analyze increasing trend the number of patient visits in terms of marketing mix done Hospital HVA Toeloengredjo, Pare. This research using design descriptive research by analysis time series using moving average with a model ARIMA. Observational research methodology, with the subject is the medical record and marketing officer, as well as its object is the data on thenumber of patient visits new and old patient. The results of testing model got that model ARIMA (1,1,0) is a model that can be used to do a forecast or estimate of. The prediction of visitors keeps increasing, where predictions the number of visits all patients during 60th month (December 2016) is 10746 visits, the prediction of the number of patient visits new is 1660 visits, the prediction of the number of patient visits long been 9290 visits. With the results of the number of a prediction patient visits that rises this, is expected to help hospital for prepared an increase in-patient room facilities, free wifi in waiting room to add comfort visitors, prime service, the addition of medical equipment, extension worker medical or so far and also resources support to create customers satisfied who come to the Hospital HVA Toeloengredjo, Pare.Keywords : Marketing Mix, Time Series, Visit
