Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of honey as a natural preservative to the quality of meat with a temperature variation 4⁰C. The material used in this study was meat and honey with a concentration al 20 %. Honey used was wild honey, forest honey is honey produced by wild bees. This honey comes from wild bees called Apis dorsata. The research method is a laboratory experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments with each treatment was repeated 3. The research variables there are two, namely the independent variable is the meat preservative given honey with a concentration of 20 % is kept by the variation shelf life, which is 0 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, and 72 hours. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance when there are changes then followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the preservation of ground beef with honey addition of 20 % with a variation of the storage period at TPC test results and protein levels resulted in a significant influence (P < 0.01). Preservation of meat no significant effect on the organoleptic (P > 0.05). TPC for the lowest value of the analytical results is 263.33 cfu / g at 24 hours storage time, the highest protein content on a storage time of 36 hours by 14.14 %, while the highest panelist preferences based on storage time 0 hours on the texture of ground beef by 86 %. The results of research carried out can be concluded that giving honey to 20% with a shelf life of 24 hours gives the best quality minced meat at a temperature 4⁰C. The addition of 20 % honey as a preservative in ground beef can maintain a shelf life of up to 72 hours to be consumed. Keywords: Minced Beef, Honey, storage, Total Microbe.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of using different starter concentration on the quality of goat milk kefir. The material used in this study is the starter of goat's milk and kefir granules. This research method used was experimental studies designed using completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatment that P0: goat's milk without starter, P1: goat milk were given starter kefir 3% fermented, P2: goat milk were given starter kefir 3 , 5% fermented, P3: goat milk kefir starter by 4% fermented. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, the measured variables, namely pH, protein content, and organoleptic tests. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, if there are differences continued using Duncan test, while the organoleptic test were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis. Based on the results of the study indicate that the use of starter concentration provides highly significant effect (P 0.05). The conclusion from this study is the use of starter concentration producing quality goat milk kefir quality is best at a concentration of 4%. It is advisable to use goat milk kefir with a concentration of 3%, 3.5% as suitable for consumption and meets the standards of fermented milk. Abstract

ABSTRAK The research knows the income and the welfare level of dairy cattle breeder. The research was done from August〖22〗^th – November 〖22〗^th,2016. Survey was conducted at KUD Karangploso. With questionnaire given to 40 respondent.Respondent where dairyfarmer of KUD Karangploso members. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analyzed the result showed that. The average income dairy farmers based on a fixed cost Rp 970.000 and variable cost Rp 1.673.000.analysis the income profits analysis Rp 882.000. cows lactation and value r/c is 1,33.The welfare level of dairy cattle breeder measures based on an indicator line of poverty central bureau of statistics is 90% a member of KUD.The economic benefits of cooperatives welfare obtained consisting of economic benefits cooperatives indirectly Rp 372.000 and economic benefits cooperatives directlyRp 215.000 so the overall economic benefits cooperatives Rp 587.000. Conclusions from research advantage of the income to maintain 1 cows lactation Rp.882.000. The ratio of value over cost is 1,33.Total economic benefits cooperatives is Rp.587.000 . Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the characteristics of corn yoghurt with the addition of carrageenan and skim milk. The study was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with two factors and three replications. The treatment used in this research is the concentration of skim milk and carrageenan. The results showed that the addition of skim milk and carrageenan in corn yoghurt showed significant different effect (P 0.05) on the fat content. From the results of the study average protein, fat content, total acid, pH, and viscosity were 4.11-4.46%; 0.88-0.91%; 0.93-0.98%; 4,73-4,49; and 390,89-416,00 cp. Abstract

ABSTRACT All this time available many manual methods those are utilized to know quality or egg chicken freshness for example utilize sunlight or flashlight for irradiates egg at dark place then see contents from egg chicken to be sorted. Same process also been done cattleman or grocer to sort chicken egg bases its quality. Utilizing manualing method to detect egg quality require time that adequately long time because detect egg chicken by piece will risk egg getting loose from hands and need so long time. The purpose of this research is for make tool detection utilizing sensor LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and Microcontroller ATmega 8535 as the processor. Performance result of this device to detect egg more or less 2 seconds/items with accuracy 87%. Performance result of this device influential from condition egg chicken is to be detected. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was held in 20th October untill 20th December 2016 at Laboratory of Kanjuruhan University. The aim of this study was to evaluate antimicrobial activity of albumin from any various of poultry on Staphylococcus sp. The result of this study expected can be helpful in the field of science, can add insight and knowledge in the field of microbiology, especially on the antibacterial activity of avian egg albumin. The material used in this study were albumin from eggs of several species of poultry and Staphylococcus sp. The eggs used were magelang’s duck eggs, mojosari’s duck eggs, chicken eggs and quail eggs. The determination of antibacterial activity of albumen was conducted by diffusion method. The testing of antibacterial activity from albumin antibacterial of various types of poultry were measured the diameter of zone of inhibition (ZI) of each species of Staphylococcus sp on Nutrient Agar. The sample of this study were all the albumin poultry which contained in the eggs which wsas taken from Dau. The selected eggs must be one day old since the parent spawn. The eggs taken directly from the eggs market and breeders. This study used eight pure eggs which the albumin would be taken. The bacterial which was tested in this study were Staphyloccus epidermis and Staphylococcus aureus. The result showed that the antibacterial activity of albumin mojosari’s duck eggs on Staphylococcus aureus with average 13.58 which showed sign d, antibacterial activity of albumin mojosari’s duck eggs and chicken eggs on Staphylococcus epidermis with averages 13.46 and 13.36 which showed sign c, antibacterial activity of albumin magelang’s duck eggs and quail eggs on Staphylococcus aureus with averages 12.38 and 12.33 which showed sign b and antibacterial activity of chicken eggs and quail eggs on Staphylococcus epidermis with averages 12.20 and 10.73 which showed sign a. The best zone of inhibition (ZI) taken from albumin magelang’s duck eggs with value average 18,06 which showed sign e. The conclusion of the study result showed that there are significant differences with different level percentage about 5%, showed that albumin magelang’s duck eggs has the strongest antibacterial activity. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to knowing fresh semen motility of etawa crossbreed (PE) with time storage and temperature using various diluent. The methods is a reseach laboratory using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial. The diluent treatments are Egg Yolk Tris Aminomethane, Cauda Epididymal Plasma, Ringer, and coconut water. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted on 16 March - 16 April 2016 at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Field Laboratory Kanjuruhan Malang. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of giving the yeast tape on sweet potato flour to consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion of broiler. The material used is a broiler chicken cobb strain produced by PT. Patriot as many as 100 birds, starch sweet potato ( Ipomoea batatas ) as a prebiotic, probiotic yeast tape as bacteria Sacharomyces cerevisiae and commercial feed. The method used is a field experiment that starts from the preparation of materials research, preparation of the enclosure, the equipment used as well to the maintenance process. The parameters were observed in the form of performance consists of consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion of broiler. Data were analyzed using completely randomized design ( CRD ) factorial 2 x 3, if there is a real effect will be examined further by Duncan range test. The results of the study giving the combination of sweet potato flour ( Ipomoea batatas ) with yeast as synbiotic, not had a significant effect on consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion of broilers ( P > 0.05 ). At the level of 3% of sweet potato flour and 1.5 % yeast yellow tape is the best level to the average consumption of 1685.00 g, 968.27 g body weight gain and feed conversion of 1.75. The more probiotic should be partly offset by the provision of prebiotics. The conclusion of this experiment, administration of probiotics and prebiotics as feed synbiotic, no significant.
