Abstract

The aim of  this research was to know effect using mixed of extract herbs on feed consumption, body weight gain, and feed conversion of broiler. 80 DOC strain MB-202 was arrange on complete randome design, 4 treatment, 4 replicated, The treatment were: 0%,10%,15%, and 20% herbs mixed wich given on drinking water. Herbs mixed include: ginger, garlic, turmeric, betel, ginger (Curcuma xanthorrhiza). Mixed herbs fermented with EM4 for two weeks. Basal feed was complete feed wich given ad libitum.  Result of this research shown that there was significant effect using mixed of extract herbs on feed consumption (P<0.05), while there was no significant effect on body weight gain and feed conversion. Feed consumption (g/bird) of P1, P0, P3 and P2 were 3.572,70 g, 3.493,95 g, 3.445,35 g and 3.138,40 g respectively. Average body weight gain (g/bird) of P1, P0, P3 and P2 were 1.866,5 g, 1.855,475 g, 1.763,75 g, and 1.663,25 g respectively. It could be concluded that using 10 % mixed of extract herbal give the best performance of broiler.Keywords: Herbs, broiler, organic farming

Abstract

Research conducted at the laboratory Kanjuruhan University of Malang, On 25 march to 29 April 2014. Research objective is to determine the effect of the use of herbs to the weight of abdominal fat and visceral organs (liver, intestine and gizzard) in broiler chickens.         The material used in this study were 80 head of DOC, cages, herbs (ginger, turmeric, ginger, garlic, betel leaf). The method used was completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, each of which is P0 : without the addition of herbs, P1 : water + 10% herbal ingredients, P2 : water + 15% herbal ingredients, P0 : water + 20% herbal ingredients. Each experimental unit consisted of 5 chickens. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance followed by Least Significant Difference test (LSD).The results showed that administration of herbal ingredients into the drinking water of broiler chickens give effect was not significantly different(P>0.05) to the weight of abdominal fat, visceral organs (liver, intestine, gizzard). The results showed the amount of abdominal fatweightis the highest weight of P0: 25 g, and the lowest was P3: 17.5 g, analytical result obtained during the study of liver weight is the highest P0: the lowest is 8 2.5 g and P3: 62, 5 g, the highest weight of thei ntestine is P0: 60 g, and the lowest is P3: 50 g while the highest is P0 gizzard weight: 60 g, and the lowest is P3: 50 g.From the results of research into herbal drinking water in broiler chickens effect that was not significantly different (P> 0.05) to the weight of abdominal fat and viceral organs (liver, intestine, gizzard).Keyword: Herbal Ingredients, Abdominal Fat, Viceral Organ, Liver, Intestine,                          Gizzard, Broiler

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of using fermentation palm kernel cake and morinda citrifolia extract in broiler ration on carcas percentage, fat abdominal, marbling, and cooking loss.Material used were 96 unsex broiler (DOC), strain MB-202P production PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk. Method used was experiment. The tratment arranged with completly random design eight treatment 4 x 2 factorial. Each experimental unit consist of four broiler. The treatment were P0M0= 0% fermented prduct no morinda citrifolia, P1M0= 10% fermented product no morinda citrifolia, P2M= 20% fermented product no morinda citrifolia, P3= 30% fermented product no morinda citrifolia, P0M1= 0% fermented product with morinda citrifolia extract, P1M1= 10% fermented product with morinda citrifolia, P2M1= 20% fermented product with morinda citrifolia, P3M1= 30% fermented product with morinda citrifolia. Result of this search shown that there was no significant on carcass percentage (P>0.05), and no significant on marbling (P>0.05). While very significant on percentage fat abdominal (P<0.01) and very significant on cooking loss (P<0.01). Average of significant on percentage fat abdominal were (42,82%), (41,68%), (40,28%), (38,20%), (35,35%), (33,31%), (32,60%) and very significant on cooking loss were (49,96%), (48,90%), and (53,03%). It could be concluded that is no significant effect of using fermented palm kernel cake and morinda citrifolia extract in broiler ration on carcass percentage and marbling, while very significant on percentage fat abdominal and cooking loss. Abstract

The purpose of this Research was to conducted at the Sheep Ranch Owned Enterprises Mr Zaenal Village Bandar Kedungmulyo Jombang on October 1, 2013 to 17 November 2013. Material used is a local sheep with four tails the average weight of 15 kg were given in the form of feed consists of two treatments. The method is a comparative study that comparation 2 treatment in feeding the sheep. The first treatment, in the form of concentrates fed lamb and king grass for 28 days, then replaced with concentrate feed and hay ferment for 28 days. The second treatment, sheep fed a concentrate and hay fermented for 28 days, then replaced with king grass feed concentrates and feed intake for 28 days and body weight gain. Data analysis techniques with RAL test. The results showed rapids feeding fermented rice and king grass no influence on the body weight and there influence on consumption and feed conversion in thin tail sheep. Abstract

            The study was conducted on December 6, 2013 until January 6, 2014 in Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Malang Kanjuruhan, carried aim of this study was to determine the effect of using plain yogurt as a starter at various levels of product quality homemade yogurt. The material used in this study was fresh milk, skim milk, plain yogurt as a starter, which consists of the bacteria Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. The research method used was a laboratory experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD). Observed variables, namely pH, protein content and organoleptic quality ifthe translating  treatment effect then proceed with the LSD test. repeated 3 times. The investigations P1 treatment +100 ml milk plain yogurt milk P2 tratment +150 ml milk plain yogurt milk. P3 tratment +200 ml milk plain yogurt milk yogurt plain. The results showed that treatment research that P1 (100 ml) P2 (150 ml) and P3 (200 ml) using plain yogurt as a starter no effect (P> 0.05) on the pH content. Level starter 100, 150, 200 ml, yielding average values of 4.33 and 4.00 pH 4.67, at room temperature. and there is no effect (p> 0,05) the protein content and protein content and organoleptic average of 4.18% 4.21% and 4.24%.Keywords: yogurt , plain , homemade yogurt Starter

Abstract

This study was aims to determine the effect of different feed processing to decreased levels HCN content of cassava leaves for feeding ruminants. This research was conducted in the Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Faculty of integrated farm Kanjuruhan University Malang on 1 to 15 November 2013. The materials used cassava leaves and cassavas. Methods used completely randomized (RAL). Each treatment was repeated 3 times, if there was different in test followed by least significant different (LSD). The variables measured were decreased levels of HCN of cassava leaves.The results showed that the effect of feed proccesing highly significant to decrease in HCN content (p<0,01). The decreased in HCN content to the highest in treatment p3 is 33.34%.Based on the results on the study concluded that the treatment cassava leaves gave best results indecreased of HCN content. So it is advisable to introduce the fermentation of cassava leaves to improve the quality of animal feed.Keyword : HCN, feed processing, cassava, ruminant feed

Abstract

This research was done in laboratory Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan (BBIB) Singosari at 24th September until 30th October 2013. This aim of research intent to know use influence D-Fruktosa and egg yolk toward Peranakan Etawa (PE) goat spermatozoa quality in sexing process use sentrifugation gradient densitas percoll method on time Before Freezing at 3000 rpm. That method used is laboratory research with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) from 4 treatment and every treatment from 3 repetation. This research indicate that spermatozoa X (P>0.05) at using D-Fruktosa and yolk towards motilitas, viabilitas and abnormalitas. While spermatozoa Y toward the real influence (P<0.05) on using D. Abstract

The experiment was conducted on November 01, 2013 to December 02, 2013 at the Laboratory in University of Kanjuruhan Malang. The purpose of this study to determining the effect of the use of mixtures of fermented palm kernel cake and cassava, with the adding Morinda citrifolia in complete feed on broiler carcass percentage, fat abdominal percentage, fat and power losses meat. The method used the method of experiment using a completely randomized design with factorial pattern consisting of 8 treatments with 3 replications. Each replication consisted of 4 chickens using fermented feed treatments 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% without the adding Morinda citrifolia and fermented feed treatments 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% with the adding Morinda citrifolia. The variables observed in this study are the percentage of carcass, fat abdominal percentage, fat meat and power losses meat. The results showed the effect of using a mixture of fermented palm kernel cake and cassava in broiler complete feed with the adding Morinda citrifolia was highly significant (P <0.01) on fat content of meat. While the effect of the use of mixtures of fermented palm kernel cake and cassava in broiler feed complete with the adding Morinda citrifolia no significant effect (P> 0.05) on carcass percentage, fat abdominal percentage and power losses meat. From the results of this study concluded the effect of using a mixture of fermented palm kernel cake and cassava in broiler complete feed with the adding of Morinda citrifolia very significant effect on the fat content of meat with the highest value (74.43%). While not a significant effect on carcass percentage, abdominal fat percentage and and power losses meat. suggested to the farmers that the proportion of feeding fermented palm kernel cake and cassava with the addition of Morinda citrifolia in broiler complete feed granting enhanced level above 30%.Keywords: Fermentation, Broiler Complete Feed, Fat, And Meat Shrinkage Power

Abstract

This study aims to determine the semen quality of fresh Goat Beans on the storage temperature of 5oC to save a different time without the use of diluents. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at the University of Malang Kanjuruhan 6 to February 11, 2012. The method used is the method of experiment by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial. Research materials used were Beans Goat fresh semen. Based on the results showed that the quality of spermatozoa Goat Beans at 5oC temperature with different long shelf without diluents showed a very noticeable difference (P <0.01). On observations of spermatozoa motility and viability of the Goat Beans 5oC temperature either without using a diluents or diluents showed a very noticeable difference (P <0.01). But the observations did not show any abnormality influence the use of diluents (P> 0.01) and no interaction effect between time savings and the use of diluents to the Goat Beans spermatozoa abnormalities (P> 0.01). Conclusions obtained from the results of this study is that the storage of fresh cement goat beans at a temperature of 50C without the use of a diluents having the best quality that can last up to 42 hours old store.Keywords: time, save temperatur, different quality, fresh cement

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of using effect of using fermented palm kernel cake extract in broiler complete feed combined with morinda citrifolia drinking water on feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion and feed efficiency. Material used in this study include cattle, cages, equipment and feed. Animals used in this study were 96 unsex strains of broiler MB-202P produced by PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk.The feed is a complete feed products by PT. Japfa Comfeed, Tbk. Method used was experiment. The trarment arranged with complitly random design eight treatment 4x2 factorial. Each experimental unit consist of four broiler. Which coupled with the treatment in the form of fermented products as much as 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. Result of this search shown that there was no significant on feed intake (P>0.05), no significant on fermented (P>0.05), no significant on interaction morinda citrifolia fermented (P>0.05). no significant on body weight gain on interaction morinda citrifolia fermented (P>0.05), no significant on feed conversion on factor morinda citrifolia fermented (P>0.05), no significant on feed efficiency on factor morinda citrifolia, no significant on feed efficiency on interaction morinda citrifolia (P>0.05). Significant on body weight gain on factor morinda citrifolai (P<0.05), very significant on factor fermented (P<0.01), very significant on feed convertion on factor femented (P<0.01), very significant on feed efficiency on factor fermented (P<0.01).
