Abstract

This research was based by the students understanding of mathematical concepts that were still low, students like delay to finish practice problem in teaching and learning process. This research purpose was to make sure that students understanding of mathematical concepts using the applying the Strategy Of Dreadlines Accompanied By Reward is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 10 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random research toward the subject. The population of this research is the students in grade VIII of SMPN 10 Padang. The instrument used in this research was final test with understanding indicator of mathematical concepts. Shape description of the tests used are numbered 6 items with the reliability of the test is r11 = 0.912. Hypothesis testing used a t-test, the results of the data analysis obtained from and , it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts with the Applying Strategy Of Dreadlines Accompanied By Reward was better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning for grade VIII of SMPN 10 Padang.

Abstract

This research was influenced by understanding of mathematical concepts thatwere still low, students had not been accustomed to sharing their knowledge withfriends and students had not been accustomed to discussing and constructknowledge received. This research purpose was to make sure that studentsunderstanding of mathematical concepts and students comprehension ofmathematical concepts using active learning strategy type Guided Note-Taking(GNT) was better than students understanding of mathematical concepts usingconventional learning for grade VIII of SMPN 1 Pancung Soal. The Type of thisresearch was experiment research. The form of the test was an essay by thereliability test is 0.88. This research design was random to the subject. Both classwere normality distributed and homogen samples at α = 0.05 significance level.Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.008 was less than α = 0.05, so it canconclude that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using activelearning strategy type Guided Note-Taking (GNT) was better than usingconventional learning for grade VIII of SMPN 1 Pancung Soal.

Abstract

Teaching materials is an important part of learning because it can be used as a learning resource for teachers and students. Teaching materials which are expected to guide students to learn independently, understandable easily by students, communicative language with students and improve students problem solving abilities. Existing textbooks have not been able to guide students to a concept and solve mathematical problems. Therefore, it needs to develop teaching materials in the form of module based on a material issue of linear equations and inequalities of one variable. Type of this research is the development of the 4-D model. However, this study only performed three stages such as; the definition, the design phase and the development phase. Based on the result of module-based validity that has been done by the validator, it shows that problem-based module on the criteria is very valid issue, namely 3.47. The result of practicalities test that has been done by teachers and students indicate that the problem-based module on the category is very practical, namely 86%.

Abstract

This study originated from the fact that the school students understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This study aims to determine how the development and understanding of the concept of student activities. This research includes the design of the random experiment research on the subject. The population in this study were eighth grade students MTsN Bariang Rao-Rao Muaralabuh The research uses a technique of random sampling, The instrument used is the final test. The results of the analysis of activity observation sheet can be concluded that the activity increase at each meeting. Based on the results of the analysis of the final test students understanding of mathematical concepts experimental class higher than the control class. Hypothesis testing using the U Mann-Witney test with the help of MINITAB software. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts to the application of information retrieval methods lebik good of the students understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of conventional learning eighth grade students MTsN Bariang Rao-Rao Muaralabuh

Abstract

The evaluation study of mathematic for student in class XI IPA MAS TI Batang Kabung Padang still low and activities of student in learning mathematic also low. This cause is motivation of student in learn mathematic is low.Another that student feel scare ask to their teacher about the subject they dont understand. The purpose of the research is to know that using learning strategy Teams Games Tournament (TGT) can increase activities and evaluation of learn mathematic students. The kind of research about action of class in one siclus. This siclus consist of four meeting (including one meeting for test).THe subject of research is students class XI IPA MAS TI Batang Kabung Padang TP 2013/2014 that total of students are 21 students, consist of 13 man and 8 woman. Analysis data of research is student activity and data of evaluation study of student with using comparison presentase activity students, avarage of class and presentase completeness  klasikal learning in learning using strategy TGT. The result data of analysis in this siclus get avarage of class 85,7.presentase completeness of clasiccal 81,6 % (18 students completeness). Based on the avarage  of students presentase of completeness  clasikal and avarage activity are increase.That can conclude  that strategy TGT can increase activity and evaluation of learning mathematic students.

Abstract

This research is motivated needs for teaching materials in the learning process. Expected that instructional materials teaching materials that are able to guide students to learn independently, easy to understand students, communicative language with students and improve students problem solving abilities. Meanwhile, the existing textbooks less train and guide students in solving a problem. Therefore, development of teaching materials in the form of modules on the square and triangle based material solutions. This type of research is the development of the 4-D model. Based on the results of testing the validity of the validator, indicating that the module is in a rectangle and a triangle material solutions at very valid criteria, with 3.46. based on the practicalities of the teachers and students indicate that the module is very practical categorize, which is 100% and 86.7%.

Abstract

The Senior High School book of grade XI for curriculum 2013 has not guided the students to do a problem-solving research given. The materials have not been integrated with the character’s values. Then, the student’s worksheet (LKS) used by teachers and students has not helped the students to study independently to understand the materials. The LKS layout used is not interesting. Therefore, the research is conducted to produce a Problem-based Learning module completed by character values with the magazine layout for the material of composition and invers functions at Baiturrahmah Senior High School, Padang, and also to know the validity and practice criteria. The research is a development research using Plomp design that consists of preliminary research phase and prototyping phase. The validators states that the module is very valid with the average value 82.36%. The produced module is also categorized into very practical by the teacher with the average value 83.33% and also categorized very practical by the students with the average value 90.56%.

Abstract

Background of the research is comprehension of mathematich of the students stilllow, then the students didn’t pay attention what the teacher say. Purpose of thisresearch are (1) to know mathematich concept of the students at SMPN 4 KotaSolok in teaching learning mathematich by using active learning strategy typeactive knowledge sharing (2) to know is active learning strategy type activeknowledge sharing toward mathematic comprehension of the students at SMPN 4Kota Solok. Kind of the research is pre-eksperimen with the one-shot case study.Population in this research is all of the students in the class VIII SMPN 4 KotaSolok academic year 2014/2015. The sample is taken at random and VIII.D as aexperimental class. Instrumentation in this research are quiz and post test.Teachnique of data analysis is using uji t. Based on result of the research, averageof quiz of the students are first meeting is 76,2, second meeting is 81,5, thirdmeeting 75 and the last meeting 83,9. The result of the post test is 78,9 higherthen before use this strategy is 58,19. Hyphotesis by using uji t, thitung =5,12 andttabel = 2,04. thitung > ttabel so hyphotesis of the research is accepted. In conclusion,active learning strategy type active knowledge sharing is significance towardmathematich concept comprehension of the students in the class VIIISMPN 4Kota Solok.

Abstract

The background of the research is the lack of student’s Math conceptunderstanding. The research aims to know how the development of quiz and theinfluence of student’s Math concept understanding to the learning application ofcooperative type (STAD) in the VIII grade of MTsN Lubuk Buaya, Padang. Thetype of the research is pre-experiment with the research design one shot casestudy. The sample class chosen is VIII4. The instruments used in the research arequiz and post-test. Based on the data analysis, it is found that the average ofstudent’s Math result grade after treatment is 89.89. The achieving students are29 students with the percentage 69.05%. The average grade of student’s quiz fromthe first meeting until the third meeting is increasing, but on the fourth quiz isdecreasing. It can be concluded that there is a good development in the quiz butthe influence to the student’s Math concept understanding by applying thelearning model of cooperative type (STAD) is still not significant.

Abstract

This study investigates because students comprehension in mathematical conceptis still low and less of students activity in teaching is significant effect of studentscomprehension in mathematical concept with one to one technique of VIII class atSMPN 31 Padang. This study is experimental research, design of the research isone shot case study the population in this study are all of VIII class students atSMPN 31 Padang in first year of 2014/ 2015 which consists of eight classes. Theresearcher uses cluster random sampling, and get VIII.4 as a experiment class.The instrument used observation checklist and post test which forms esay withreliability of the test is r11=0,922. Dealing to the result description and data quisanalysis, it can be seen the development of students comprehension inmathematical concept in every meeting are increase, the result of is 81,81 andpretes is 41,88. So, it can be concluded, one to one technique is significanttoward. Students comprehension in mathematical concept of VIII student atSMPN 31 Padang.
